After they managed to get the toddlers down for bed and Michelle was dozing on his chest. Max started really thinking about the future. “You know when I bought this house three years ago I never thought I would have to share it with five other people and then add one more.” He was smiling as he thought about it. The more he thought about it the more he knew they needed something bigger for their growing family.
“Max we already talked about moving.” Deanna responded without looking up from the article she was reading on the tablet Max had given her for a half year anniversary.
“Deanna I was just saying.” He laughed.
“I am looking at houses in the area. None of them really talk to me.” She said.
“Then why don’t you have one built that does talk to
The next few days passed and it was the weekend. For some reason Max seemed a little more happy about this weekend over any others. Deanna found out why when the doorbell rang and she made her way to the front to find Kit and Mitsuhide there with armfuls of small people. Deanna laughed at the sight knowing that was how her and Max probably looked to other people when they went anywhere. She had gotten used to the looks from strangers especially as she began to show. Though it was normally only the really old or the really young that had the gall to say anything about the number of children they had. “We needed some adult time.” Kit said as she walked in. “Mitsuhide talked to Max yesterday and this sounded like heaven.” Deanna laughed at the other woman knowing exactly how she felt. Kit had her twins a few months after they had met at Max a
Mitsuhide and Deanna sat on the patio as Kit and Max went inside with the children to settle them down for a nap. With nine children in the house it was more than a headache but they wanted to give the two a chance to really talk. Max knew that Deanna needed someone to get everything out to besides him. She was handling the anger better than she had been a few months ago when everything had exploded in front of her.“So why didn’t you really sell the house?” he asked as his piercing eyes looked at her. Whereas as Max’s golden eyes were kind and often something that she could get lost in. Mitsuhide’s yellow golden eyes were haunting. They looked like they could see right through you at any given time. It was easy to see how he could get the answers from people when he wanted to get them.“I couldn’t.” Deann
“The first thing we need to do is make sure all of your plans are sound. One thing around you might snowball and then all hell will break loose.” Mitsuhide said. “You have people here who will help you like we did. My team stepped in for this. When they found out about your case half of them wanted to come as well.”Kit started to laugh at that one, “They would. It is in their nature to want to help someone in their scope but we did manage to get them to slow down and hold their position. Max I am sure you know a few of them either personally or by reputation. However they are good guys and they will help out if we call them in. They are your back up to a back up plan.”“They are also rather good with kids. They are all basically giant kids anyway.” Mitsuhide said with a war
The group was quiet for a few minutes. Deanna was thinking and trying to remember anything that could help them figure out what she had walked into and the place that the horrors of the website Mitsuhide had found and where it was located. She couldn’t remember how she had got there in the first place. She tried to think but every time it seemed blocked. The thing that she kept thinking about was the maze in the garden. She didn’t know why she kept going back to there in her mind. It didn’t make any sense. Now she knew what the maze really was as well as the garden itself. It had been a place for her grandfather to spread the remains of his children in the name of saving Deanna from the curse of her birth. Deanna hadn’t gone into the garden since she had found out it was nothing more than a glorified graveyard for sacrificed children.
“What?” Max asked as he knelt down next to her.“I went right.” She said as a tear fell. Deanna looked at him. “The third turn. I went right.”“What did you see?” Mitsuhide asked as he leaned forward as he watched Max rub her back. She knew they were there. She knew they would be there for her.“The grass grew funny there.” She said softly. “It wasn’t right. It was a different type of grass then the rest of the rest of the yard. It looked fake. It was over grown as well. Everything was kept near perfect but that one spot.”“What was near the grass?” Mitsuhide pushed again.“A piece of metal.” She said as she looked at him. “Like an old fashion door knocker. It was circular.”
Max followed Deanna into the house. She knew the triplets would be waking up soon and wanted to be ready when they did. The two sets of twins were in the living room sharing a crib each. She smiled at them. “They all look like Mitsuhide except this one.” Deanna said as he pointed out Mason.“Surprisingly he looks like Kit.” Max chuckled.“It is hilarious that he does.” Mitsuhide said as he followed in the door. “That was the first clue as to who the person was responsible.” He looked at Deanna. “The night we found out and I was called into the center to be questioned Kit had one of her friends called in and they did and ultrasound of June. We saw their faces that night. They looked the same when they were born. That is also how we found out the next set was identical. But that night started the questions for both of us and only one
“You know that is how mind control works?” Mitsuhide said softly. He was watching the young woman in front of him. Though she was the youngest of the group by a few years she had an aura about her that matched his wife’s in making her seem much older than she really was. He smiled at the thought that he could only deal with one woman like his wife but this other one wasn’t all that bad to add to the mix. Mitsuhide thought Max had lucked out the same way he did.“What is?” Deanna asked as Max rubbed her shoulders softly.“To implant a simple idea and let it take root.” Mitsuhide said. “The more people you have around that believe the idea or help the idea the more it takes root. It makes it almost impossible for the person to believe that it was there in the first place.”“So what your saying is
Max watched his tiny wife as he drove knowing the van behind was following to the same spot of hell. She had gone quiet knowing there was something else to find at the house. She had begun to hate the house for everything that she was. That was hard because she knew the house wasn’t at fault for the actions of her parents and siblings. It was them who was responsible for that. The house was just a symbol of the horror that they brought forth to the world.Deanna was trying to remember something good to keep her mind from going into the place she really didn’t want to go. She had dealt with everything so well on the surface of the storm that people were amazed with her strength. She had been good at hiding herself and her feelings from everyone and even to a point Max. She understood why Max had called these two in to help. She liked them both. They were open and hon
