Chapter 2

Wedding day

Winter woke up after hearing noises from the hall area, she freshens up and walk out of her room, She entered the hall of her mansion; it was not like how she saw it before, it was completely transformed now, expensive lights were hanging at each corner. The wall was studded with mirrors, and colourful light gave an amazing view to the entire hall, the room reflected everyone.

She observed everyone around, she was the only shabby one here; she wore a loose top and a jeans which was given by Sophia, the moment she entered she saw many staring at her bitterly grimacing and scowling. This was not a place for a girl like her, she must have busted in, many pointed out.

Her mother came running toward her and dragged her out of the hall. When they reached in a dark room, the room echo with a slapping sound. Winter hold her cheek and her eyes filled with tears,

“you bloody disgrace , why did you step in there without a mask, do you want to destroy my daughters best day, you are really a bitch, get the dress in waitress cloth and were a mask before coming down and serving to my guest and do not speak a work, if I hear you speak you know what will happen, and behave yourself or I will kick you out today.” Her mother warned her and got out.

Winter wipe her tears, she smiles weekly to herself and kept her hand on her heart “all is well, everything will be ok I know” she said and went to dress up.

The hall was crowded with the richest and elegant people in the town. Each one seeming to be better than the other.

Winter saw the most beautiful people here and in this rich world it seemed as if the age doesn't matter.. everyone looked similar, perfect at everything...

Every man wore a wealthy charisma... They talked with their eyes and gestures in such a graceful manner that even Winter found it effortless reading them.

Her parents themself left no stones unturned in their part. Her mother’s jewellery was glimmering in the light, and her designer ware was no match with her guests,... there was great confidence radiating from her, boasting her wealth...

The floor of the whole mansion was shrouded with red carpet, velvety and smooth. Winter slipped now and then as her foot tickled with the fine fibres...

Even the servants looked grand and rich. They all wore a white uniform spotless and shiny, with a red and white striped hat...

She herself has now changed into a neat and spruce outfit that resembled the servants all around. She adjusted her dress and wore a long hat. The air around was really suffocating for her, the rich perfumes and the odour of the exquisite cuisines made her nauseous ...

A tall man in uniform approached her and handed over her a tray.

He pointed a corner to Winter and gestured her to serve...

The tray was heavy and slippery, and she barely managed to walk. She felt her head spinning but took all her strength and dragged herself along. She saw a few really handsome men standing in a round and discussing something with utmost interest...

Winter never fantasied handsome boys or rich men, it was something good her school life taught her...

After serving the gathered men there, Winter turned. She strangely felt some wetness and a hear loud noise.

But it was too late. She saw a tall man in a coat in his middle twenties, piercing her gaze onto her. The man in front of her appeared a bit calm, but there was a rage in his eyes that demanded an apology. She observed the wine she accidentally tripped has fallen all over his spotless white shirt and shiny grey coat...

The stones in his watch glimmered in the brightness of the lighting. It was expensive Winter closed her eyes to take a deep breath, her heart pounded and was racing like a horse. It was the first time she felt really sorry for herself; she did not want to be rude to this person in front of her... Even though he wore a fierce look in his eyes, there appeared a strange sense of warmth and intimacy emitting from him...

But she knew she should turn and walk away and be rude, because her mother said not to speak and so she did...

She looked once again into this man's eyes.

she turned around and walked away, stomping her foot...

She could clearly hear the entire hall loathing her.. criticizing her, but her heart was at unease, weeping strangely. Through the backdoor she ran hiding her face with her hands, she couldn't believe her eyes were pouring out.. she was crying pitifully...

Winter's eyes were pouring out heavily as she ran away from the wedding of her sister towards her room. Luckily, there was no one at the side of her room to question her.

This was the first time she regretted so much for being so like this, she felt helpless for not even able to apologize, for becoming a burden wherever she went...

she changed onto her clothes and washed the uniform and was determined to return it as soon as possible and also apologise for spoiling her sister wedding.

She needed some fresh air, so she went out for a walk. It was showering outside, and she gathered her broken self by crying out in the rain, drenching in it, letting out her long beautiful hair.

A car swiftly passed by her splashing out dirt all over her.. she lost her balance and fell onto the road, her knees bleeding... The physical pain she felt was nothing... In fact, she felt much better for getting punished for being useless and bothersome.. she walked back to her room dragging her leg behind.
