Audrey left the room after bidding her goodbye to Tristan. She nodded at her driver who was waiting outside to escort her back to the car. “Did you enjoy your meal?” Audrey asked the driver who gleefully nodded at her question. “I see. I heard from Mother you have kids. Let’s drop by somewhere to get them some treats,” she said.
“Thank you, Miss Audrey.” The driver bowed slightly and smiled.
Audrey smiled back at him. Her mother-in-law would always praise how hardworking George was. George was recently hired as her driver but other than driving, he had a passion for gardening. Since Mrs. Vargas loved to tend to the garden when she had free time, the two got along well together.
“Shane, what are you doing?”

“You called the security on your husband?”Audrey was speechless when her mother-in-law kept asking her the same thing after she told her about her encounter with Shane.“I would have done the same honestly. I don’t like it when men don’t grow up like him. So, I’m not saying I don’t love my son but he seriously needs to man up,” the elderly said and took a sip of her tea. She prepared some dessert and tea in the garden to enjoy when Audrey came back. Sitting down and chatting with her daughter-in-law was one of her happiest times of the day. She may not be blessed with a daughter, but Audrey filled her heart with joy by just being by her side. “Did he look hilarious? I bet he did,” she continued and laughed, imagining how his good-looking son reacted after what his wife did to him.“Well, I called his Manager to be precise. I doubt if Lucy would actually call security on him,” Audrey said while shaking her head. “Do you think it’s okay? Treating him like that? He’s still your son, Mom
The sound of doorbell kept ringing for minutes. Anybody could tell the one who was ringing it was too impatient for the house owner to open the door. However, neither of them wanted to give the other what they wanted. The house owner wished for peace of mind and yet he refused to do anything about his ringing doorbell, giving him an endless headache as she crouched on the sofa while hugging himself. On the other hand, the person outside the door had no plans of giving up until the door opens and let her in. With that said, the scenario continued for an hour and none of them had yet to give up.“Shan! Ah! This guy is wasting my time. Why won’t you open the damn door?” Lucy, Shane Vargas’ manager groaned as she stopped pressing the button for the doorbell. She took an exhilarating sigh and fetched her phone from her bag to call him. “I swear! I wouldn’t forgive you if you don’t answer this one,” she muttered under her breath and dialed the actor’s number. A beam of hope filled her face
“Do it yourself, Bastard!”Lucy glared at Shane when the latter started talking nonsense. She was willing to listen to his sentiments but didn’t promise she would give him good advice. Besides, Shane’s problem could be easily resolved. All he had to do was to quit his showbiz career and ask for Audrey’s forgiveness for life. Sometimes, she wanted to tell him to do that but was also afraid he would follow her advice and still fail. Lucy knew what Shane did to Audrey was too much. Even though she tried to talk to him about it before, telling him to let his wife know about his plan to avoid misunderstanding, he didn’t listen. And just like what she predicted, Audrey was totally over with him.“You should better know your priority in life, Shane. I’m saying this as your friend, not your manager. You’re famous now and have lots of great offers but you can’t marry Audrey again if she wants a divorce,” Lucy ranted. She was finally able to speak up her mind. It was also tiring for her to see
The room was filled with fresh air, making Audrey smile. She decided to open the windows and let the air inside. Since the mansion was surrounded by a mini-forest her mother-in-law personally designed, she could take in a lungful of air without worry. She thought it would be good for Asher too. Since she couldn’t spend a long time outside with him, watching the tree branches dance outside through the window was her solution. Asher seemed to enjoy the wind as well as he giggled every time Audrey’s hair would be blown away and touched his face.“Do you like that?” Audrey smiled at the baby in her arms. They were sitting on the couch while looking out the window. She also had a book on the table in front of her but instead of reading, she preferred talking to Asher instead. “Do you like Mommy’s hair? I’m glad I’m washing my hair every day, otherwise, this little guy here might complain, huh?” She scrunched up her nose when he reached out for her face and gave her a gummy smile. “You’re s
Days passed and Shane was back to work. After bawling his eyes out in front of his manager, he ended up fulfilling his newly accepted project. The matter with Stephanie had died down as the public interest shifted to the new talents of the year. Of course, there were still talks about him and Stephanie having a baby and the latter taking a break from Showbiz to focus on her motherhood but it wasn’t that much compared to before. Shane was relieved he was able to do what his company wanted despite causing a huge rift in his relationship with Audrey. Furthermore, the fact that he had to act like Stephanie’s husband in the eyes of the public also gained him more popularity. Nevertheless, it didn’t change the fact that he wanted to divert the public’s attention toward someone else and not to his real-life partner. He did the previous job with Stephanie while thinking about what good it could do to his secret marriage with Audrey. It was just that not everyone would agree with his choice bu
It had been two days and Shane couldn’t get any more listless as he waited for his wife to call him again. He couldn’t sleep in excitement while having the thought that Audrey was still willing to give him a chance to fix his mistakes, but failed expectations hurt really badly and he was about to face that reality.“Are you done now?” Lucy asked the actor who kept tossing and turning himself on the couch while staring at his phone on the center table. “You should be reading your script instead,” the manager added and sighed when the other didn’t seem to hear what she just said.Thankfully, the meeting with Tiffany went smoothly. Perhaps because Shane was in a good mood and didn’t bother much despite Tiffany’s hostility toward him. The producer of the show ended up not showing up though and for some reason, Shane didn’t mind about it either. The latter would usually not let it go but he was drowning in the excitement that everything seemed fine to him.“Lucy, what do you think I should
Audrey called for the nanny to come over and have her bring Asher to his crib. She was afraid something might happen to her child as she conversed with Shane. She watched the nanny climb upstairs with her baby before taking a deep breath and facing Shane. She took her cup of tea and had a sip. Her body was shaking slightly and she needed a moment to calm down.“I forgive you,” Audrey said with a smile on her face. Her eyes weren’t lying. She meant what she said. After all, she was only waiting for Shane to apologize. She wasn’t the perfect wife for him either and she also felt like apologizing. However, before that, she needed to be clear with her intention. “It’s not that I don’t want to understand why you have to do those things. Maybe I just need to hear those words from you,” she added.Shane, on the other hand, was surprised. His eyes widened and his mouth agape. He couldn’t believe Audrey would forgive him just like that. He thought he was only hearing things inside his head but
“So, what’s going on?” Nathan asked Audrey as they had tea time one afternoon when the former came to visit. “I thought you wanted to divorce him. Why is he sitting in front of you now?” The blond gazed toward Shane who managed to stay calm despite what he just heard about him.Audrey put down her cup and shrugged. She didn’t want to see the man either but he kept coming with the excuse of seeing his child. Although it irked her to see him almost every day, she didn’t say a word and let him do his part as the father of her son. “He’s my son’s father, Nate,” she said.“And your husband,” Shane muttered, earning a groan from Audrey. “We ain’t divorced,” he added.Audrey smiled. “Yet,” she mumbled. Audrey raised an eyebrow and stood from her seat. “It’s getting late. You should be going now,” she told Shane who was caught off-guard. Audrey was low-key kicking him out and he couldn’t argue about his right to stay.“I understand you want him off your sight, Hija. My apologies though, I hav
