4. Milk

I snatched the phone from Christian, wondering why he was acting so playful all of a sudden before hanging up. He was grinning and I felt like slapping it off his face. 

"Why did you do that ?" I asked him and he crossed his legs.

"You weren't going to pick so I helped"

"Do you know the, things running through his head right now?" I was furious.

"Calm down. I didn't fuck you"

I sighed frustrated, glancing at Ella, she was sitting on her own almost dazing off. I carried her and started for her room. 

She smelt of ice and was sticky so I decided to bathe her. She woke up sometimes but went back to sleep. I finally dressed her and lay her in bed and that's when he came in.

"What now?"

"Is she asleep?"

I ignored him and shut Ella's bedside light. Before I could go out of the room, he pinned me against the wall. We were so close I could feel his hot breath on my neck.

"I asked you a question" he said and I shivered.

"I don't always answer to strangers" I said cooly.

His brows ached and I turned and walked out of the room. He followed after me. I could feel it. He pulled my arm.

"Your hairpin" he said raising a black thing in his hand. He took it off while I was engrossed in his closeness. He grinned.

"You didn't even know I took it. Here" I collected it from him feeling like a fool. "Are you leaving now?"

"I'm waiting for Richard to get back" I explained and he nodded.

"You can leave I'll stay and by the way you need to explain stuffs to your boyfriend" he said, and  started walking back up thestairs.

"I.."

"Say hi to Garry for me!" He said before he was out of my sight. Such a rude thing.

I left the house leaving a note for Richard on the counter.

When I got back, Garry was already asleep so I undressed and got into bed. His arms wrapped round my waist and he muffled something. I brushed the little strand of hair from his face and kissed his lips.

"Good night" I whispered.

I rolled on the bed to feel Garry's warmth but it wasn't there. I got up to find him sitting on the bed side staring at me. His legs was crossed and he had a glass of juice in his hand.

"Morning" I muffled and he just sipped his juice.

"How was your night?"

"Good"

"Hmm"

He got up and strolled out of the room. He was acting weird all of a sudden. I brushed my teeth and went down to find him sitting watching Netflix. I went to sit by him.

"Are you angry with me?"

"I don't know Marcy"

I shook my head. "Please don't be ok?"

"Why Mar? Why can't I be? You only care about yourself, you don't consider others"

"What are you talking about?" I asked. Maybe it was about last night. Shit! I lowered my head. He must have caught on.

"Was that Richard?"

"No"

"Who then?"

"No one important"

"He fucking complimented you. Told you smelled nice, and then you hung up on me." Garry yelled and I jerked. He put off the movie and faced me. "You guys seemed to have had a romantic time"

"Please stop! What are you talking about?".

He got up. "I'm talking about the guy you said is not important"

He got up and I did too.

"He's not important" how could I tell Garry it was a famous Billonaire who would never be interested in me, because he already have some model. Garry won't even believe and say I was making up stories. It won't be the first time he'd accused me of cheating.

"Great! You know what? I'll just go up, pack my things and leave"

I held his arm and tears rolled down my cheek.

"Don't. I just met him at the house. Richard's friend, please believe me"

He sighed. "I will but I need time"

I watched as Garry walked up the stairs, packed his things and came back down. I couldn't even move.

"I'll be back Mar. I just need space ok baby?" he cupped my cheek and I nod.

"I understand"

He placed a soft kiss on my lips before he walked out of the house. And just like that, he was gone.

I got dressed for work and left the apartment. Judy did not sleep in the house last night but at Chad's place.

Berry greeted me with a warm hug and smiles.

"We have a contract again"

My face brightened up. " From Who?"

"Still Vance"

I frowned a bit. Why didn't Richard tell me in person.

"Did you sleep well last night? You look tired" Berry notes and I shrug, walking to sit behind the counter. The sweet smell of flour, milk and send eggs, always made me feel cheerful. It was like an abode. I get lost in baking.

"I'm fine just get to work. Where's Jade?"

"His making sugar icings"

I nod, and she walked off. The bell dinged and in walked Richard. I allowed him gave me a quick hug.

"Thank you for last night" he said with a bright smile.

"Anytime. I'm available" I said with a giggle that soon faded. Behind Richard was Garry fuming. God! Its not what it looks like. I know what he'd just heard sounded wrong but...it was so innocent.

"Garry" I called and he walked out of the shop. I followed him.

"Garry please wait!".

He stopped and I was able to catch up to him.

" Let me explain "

"I felt guilty for walking off this morning and I come to your work place and that guy is thanking you for last night. What do you want me to think Mar"

I nodded. He was understandable but still, its not what he's thinking.

"It was for sitting his daughter Gar"

"Fuck that. I'm leaving now" he turned to go and stopped. "How long have you been doing that since I was gone huh?"

I shook my head in disbelieve. "I can't believe you think this of me Garry. You know what? I was wrong to even ask you to stay. I was wrong to shed a tear for you this morning. Just something little and you're all worked up!"

He stepped close to me but I moved back. "Get out Garry. Now"

"Mar.."

"Leave! Go back to Gina! I'm sure you've wanted that all along. Judy was right" with that, I stomped off and went back into the shop. There's no way he'd be pushing me away like this if he didn't have someone else. Richard was laughing and talking with Berry.

"Are you alright?" He asked me and I nod.

"Get the cupcakes so I can deliver it" I told Berry and she went off.

"You have a delivery to make, so I'll leave now" he waved me goodbye. I wanted to tell him it was to Vance but I was in no mood to ride with him in case he asked. Berry came back with the containers and I left the shop for Vance. My day couldn't get any worse than this.
