PROLOGUE

PROLOGUE

It is happy to think that everything is going back to normal. My dad got a new job, my mom is now healed and fine now. It means we won’t leave anymore. I won’t miss Reybert anymore. I could stay here forever with him! 

Reybert is my long time crush. He was way older than me. I’m just 10 years old and he is already 18 years old but like what everybody says, ‘age doesn’t matter’. So whatever my friends says I don’t care as long as he’s with me. He always makes my cheeks blush and making me feel excited. He always looks at me with his beautiful eyes. He is a man that every girl could ever dream of. But I am happy that I am the only girl he allows to be with him. 

“Maj! Where are you going?” my mom shouted as I walked down the stairs. My hair is properly made up and my dress is very neat right now. I should look beautiful because Reybert wants to see me! He said that there’s something important he wants to tell me.

“I’m going to see Reybert mom.” I said and kissed her cheeks. She was cooking our dinner for tonight. My mom and dad knew Reybert as our neighbourhood. He is my only friend except for Sunshine. 

“Okay. Just take care of yourself.” She said before finally let me.

I am happily walking out the streets as I imagining Reybert face while saying something sweets to me. I don’t know if Reybert knows my feeling but I’m sure he can feel it too. But it sad to say that maybe he don’t see me as his potential lover because I am still young. But I’m still hopeful that maybe someday my love for him would be worth it. 

I stopped when I saw Reybert standing and leaning on their front gate. I am about to come near to him but his phone rang and he answered it. 

“Hello?” Reybert answered. I stared at his wide shoulder. He is very manly and handsome.

“What?!” I almost jumped when I heard him shouted in anger. My brows furrowed. Who is the caller? Why is he suddenly mad?

“Then do something! I can’t let that guy ruin my plans!” Reybert said in madness. I don’t know why suddenly my heart beat faster. It’s not because of my feelings with him. It’s different. It’s because I’m scared. This the first time I saw him like this.

“Tell it to Christian…” he breathed heavily and I saw how his face gets dark. My hands suddenly turned cold. Why is he like that? It felt…scary. He won’t do something bad, right? He is a good man. I knew him for a year now and I can say that he is a good guy. 

“…tell him to hide now…because if I see him? I would gladly send him to fucking hell.” 

My heart boomed faster in nervousness. I stepped back slowly while my hands are so cold. I feel like there is something on my throat that I can’t swallow properly. I am so scared that I want to run away. I want to go home. But before I can run away Reybert called me.

“Majesty!” 

I closed my eyes intently. I don’t want to see him. I feel like I would get in danger if I walk near him. How could I escape? How?

But it’s too late now because he is already in front of me.

“I’m glad you came.” He said while smiling. He’s now different. The scary and dark look of his face is now gone. He is now smiling like a good guy like there’s no bad that happened earlier.

I am scared that it was just a mask and his real face is the one earlier. Why am I having these thoughts? Am I getting paranoid? No… Reybert is a good guy. I know he is.

I give him a bright smile.

“Of course I will come.” I said forgetting the horrific feelings I just had.

He hugged me so dearly that so I just let him but there is something telling me that I needed to let go. I suddenly felt bad for having this feeling. I shouldn’t feel this way. He is my friend, my love so why…

I let him drag me inside of his house. I always come to his house, sometimes with her friends but most of the time we are alone. But as a man he didn’t do anything to me that I wouldn’t like. He is a gentleman and he respects me as a girl even though I am still young and it made me fall for him for more.

I like him and I should forget that things that happened earlier. It’s bad that I am thinking badly about him. He never harms me so I should respect him also.

“Are you okay? You seem bothered.” He said suddenly. I came to my senses and smiled at him awkwardly.

“I just…well…thinking about my father.” I said nervously. Damn! I am lying!

“What about your father?” he asked.

“He got a new job that’s why we won’t leave anymore.” I said happily. I need to sub side my thinking.

“That’s good-“

His phone suddenly interrupted him from talking. He looked at his cell phone darkly. The uneasiness I felt earlier came to me again. Why?

“I’ll just answer this.” He said and walks away while his phone is on his ear now.

I feel so nervous again. It feels like there is something bad would happen and I don’t know why. So to end my curiousness I followed him and I saw him seriously standing in front of the swimming pool while the phone is on his ear and his other hands is playing with the ball pen he’s holding. 

“Where’s that bastard?” Reybert said so mad.

I don’t know who the man he is pertaining to. But I am having a very bad feeling about this. 

“I want you to call him. I will give that bastard a lesson.” He said and ends the call furiously. I hid immediately at the back of the wall and heaved a deep sigh. I run back to the living area and wait for him. I’m going to tell him that I’m going home now. I can’t stay here for a long while.

But before I can speak to him he suddenly talk.

“I’m going somewhere, Majesty. You need to go home now.” He talks faster and went out leaving me confused. I don’t what will happen but…damn! I need him to stop for doing something bad! This isn’t right! I need to stop him! Whatever he may do it would be bad for sure!

But when I went out he’s already gone. The thing I only saw was his car moving far away. I looked around to find any vehicle that I can use to follow him and luckily I saw a bicycle. I drove it as fast as I can. I almost lost my breath while following his car. I also don’t want him to know that I’m following him. So I need to draw distance towards us.

But the bad feeling I had grew more when I saw where his car stopped. It was an abandoned building. What the hell is he going to do in this kind of place? I sighed heavily and went of my bicycle while hiding in a tree. I saw him went inside and there’s a man who followed him inside.

I also went inside but I make sure that no one notices me. I am hiding alternately until I saw Reybert talking with a creepy man. Who is this person? And why the hell is Reybert talking to them? Do I really know Reybert? 

I hid myself at the back of the wall. It was so dark that I am sure Reybert won’t notice me. 

“Where is Christian?” Reybert asked to the people around him.

“I’m here.” a baritone voice filled the whole place. I had goose bumps. I stared at the man who just came but I can’t see his face because of the hoody on his head. But he is tall, he is taller than Reybert and his shoulder is wider. He has a good figure as man. The way he walks and handles himself, it shouts an authority. And maybe Reybert felt it too that’s why he stepped back and smirked with a fake one.

“So…you’re here.” Reybert said with a tone of mockery.

“You told me to come here.” The man said with a sarcastic tone. But obviously Reybert is now pissed off and I almost shouted when the other man punch the man with a hoody on his stomach! I heard the growl of the man and Reybert’s chuckled.

“You have the guts to be arrogant huh when in fact you are going to die right now.” Reybert said. My eyes widened. He can’t kill!

Reybert walks toward the man who was holding his stomach. Reybert knelt and face the man.

“How dare you steal my money?” Reybert asked with madness. 

Steal? This man stole money from Reybert? Then why would Reybert do this instead of reporting it to the police?

“It wasn’t yours.” The man said with dignity on his voice. “It was never yours!” the man said and everyone got shocked when the man stood up and point a gun with Reybert! I closed my eyes and think deeply. What am I going to do? I need to do something! The man maybe did horrible things to Reybert but it wasn’t a good idea if Reybert will put everything on his hands. It should be reported in the police! And this man holding a gun shouldn’t kill Reybert!

No!

But before my eyes opened I heard a loud gun shot. My heart beat stopped and feels like everything is in chaos. I opened my eyes and my tears suddenly pooled out on my eyes when I saw Reybert lying down on the floor bathing with his own blood. His people are also lying down with him. But the man in a hoody jacket wasn’t there anymore. 

The murderer escapes and I never had the chance to see his face. He suddenly got disappeared with no trace, no clue and with no identity.
