Chapter 7

Samantha POV

We finally arrived at werewolf Island. It is called The Grey Guardians. I have never in my life seen anything more beautiful in my life.

The Grey Guardian Island is more like an open field. There are flowers of all shapes and sizes littered all over the land.

It is the first time that I have seen a place so open. On the human island, there are only buildings. There was no place to even go and play as a child.

Kaleb helped me get off the boat and onto the dock. My first reaction was to run through the field and that is exactly what I did.

I let go of Kaleb's hand and just started running. There was so much screaming behind me but I just had one goal in my head.

For the first time in my life, I felt completely free. I stopped in the centre of the flower field and started twirling. A giggle burst forth from my chest. I felt like a little kid. I fell down and continued my laughter as I lay there.

I don't know how long I have lain there. I just closed my eyes and felt the sun on my face. It felt like a few minutes when I heard footsteps getting closer.

I opened my eyes and see Kaleb coming into my view. He had a smile on his face when he sat down next to me.

"I am so sorry for acting like a child." I looked down at my hands.

"Never be sorry for doing something that makes you happy. I guess you are not used to the open space we have here on the island." I looked back up into his eyes. I was so sure he was going to be mad at me. I still have to learn that Kaleb is not cruel.

"You are right. On the human island, there is no place for kids to play, and even if there is, we are sent to school from an early age. There are only buildings as far as the eye can see. I do not know what happened. I guess the child in me saw the flowers and decided that she wants to come out and play." I gave Kaleb a smile. How can a werewolf understand just what we as humans go through in our lifetime?

"I understand. This is why I stopped the guards. They thought you were about to run away. We need to get going. The sun will be setting soon and driving on our roads at night is extremely dangerous." I nod. Kaleb stood up and helped me onto my feet.

As we gt closer to the car, I can see the guards are already in it. waiting for us. All of them were scowling and just looking straight up grumpy.

Once we climb into the car, the guard started the car and set off over the mountain.

The sun has just set when we stopped in front of a big house. Kaleb explained to me on our way here that he will show me around the following day. He first wants me to settle in before I meet the other slaves.

Kaleb took my hand and led me towards the room I would be staying in.

He opened the door and I was blown away by the beauty of it. It was decorated in soft shades of pink.

"Why don't you get settled in. I will wait for you downstairs. Come down once you are ready." Kaleb didn't wait for my answer. He closed the door behind him, and I was left alone.

I pulled my suitcase up to the closet and started to unpack. This house looks much bigger on the inside. I always hear a woman saying that men are messy creatures. What I have seen up until now is that there is nothing out-of-place in Kaleb's house.

It only took me a few minutes to unpack. I didn't have that much stuff. My clothes only took up half of the closet. It kind of makes me feel sad.

I only have about 6 books to put in the bookcase. Once I was done I went down in search of Kaleb. I retraced the steps that we took and I found Kaleb in the kitchen.

"What kind of takeaway do you want?" Kaleb is looking through what looks like colourful papers.

"I don't know what take-away's is." Kaleb slowly looks up with disbelief.

"Are you serious? How do you not know what take-away's is?" His

"Well, we didn't learn about them in school." I try to search my brain. I don't recall ever learning about take-away's.

"Well, that is a damn shame. Take-away's are only the most delicious food you will ever find on this planet. There is so much I need to teach you. Why don't I order us some pizza? This will be your first lesson." Kaleb picks up his phone and starts dialling a number that I can't see. Once he finished the call he came back to me. He placed the colourful papers in front of me.

"You see these are menu's for takeaway places here on the island. All the places is owned by the werewolves in the pack. If I want takeaways I will tell you in the morning and then you can call somewhere in the afternoon. When they ask you where they should deliver, you just say Beta Kaleb's house. Everyone knows where I live so it will be fine."

"I will do that. What kind of takeaways do you get?"

Kaleb spent the rest of the time we are waiting for the pizza discussing what kind of take-away's you get. All the different kinds of food sound so delicious. I know why we never had takeaways at the school. Most of it is fried in oil and just sound so unhealthy.

The doorbell rang and Kaleb stood up to answer the door. He came back with a square box in hand. There was a young man behind him. The young man had a smile on his face.

"Samantha this is Nathan. He is one of the omega's sons. His father owns the pizza place."

"Hi, Samantha. It is nice to meet you. Welcome to the pack." He holds out his hand to me and I shake it.

"I don't think I am part of the pack." I smile at Nathan.

"O, please. It doesn't matter you are here for a week or ten years. You are part of the pack now." Nathan said

smiling even bigger than before.

"You know Nathan is right. We treat everyone like family. It doesn't matter if you are bought as a slave or if you were born into this pack." Kaleb places a plate in front of me.

We chatted for a few more minutes before Nathan had to leave to go back to work. Kaleb and I took our plates into the living room and sat down in front of the television.
