YOLO
∞≠∞
Steffy heaves a deep breath as she remembered the girls' frightened faces. Plastering a smirk, she absorbed the overwhelming feeling of power she received just by defeating those bullies.
‘So this is how it feels like; to be feared.’ She now understood why her father valued power over anything is. If you had power, all the things that the world had to offer will be yours for the taking. And as she sat idly, she cannot wait to fulfill her mission so she could finally become the first-ever female Alpha Don.
But upon remembering a conversation with her dad just this morning, she wiped her smirk and heaved another deep breath. He had been bugging her about her ordeal. He said the earlier for Steffy to finish the target, the better.
'I need to immediately come up with a plan,’ she said in her mind as she clicked her tongue. She had been following Lucio Hernandez for several days now. The man was a different person in front of the students of Libangon National High, and the photos didn’t lie. He was a good-looking piece of shit.
“Who the hell are you?”
Steffy tentatively cast a dangerous glare at the one who suddenly spoken behind her. Planting her feet on the ground, she readied herself into a fighting position.
The intruder seemed to register a shock on his face when Steffy finally looked at him.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Miss Blonde. I was just—"
Steffy's eyebrows furrowed. "What did you call me again?" she asked in a dangerous tone.
"I—I don't know your name, and your hair's blonde so—"
The guy was stammering, and he also looked like a typical nerd. He wore thick glasses and braces. His perfectly pleated polo uniform was tucked underneath his school pants. Realizing that he was as harmless as a speck of dust, she then ignored him and hastily decided to leave him there.
As she walked towards the door, the guy held her right arm, stopping her from walking.
“Get your hand off me,” she strictly said.
"Wait! Miss Blonde—"
"Stop calling me that!" she snapped angrily. "The name's Steffy.” Then she suddenly got curious when the boy smilingly drew out a hand.
“Ah! I finally know your name now. I'm Yolo."
She backed away, although hesitantly, she firmly took his hand out of courtesy. The Alphas needed to be courteous at all times, even at strangers.
"So," he said, clearing his throat. "I can see that you are also captured with the ambiance in my secret place?”
"What do you mean by that?"
"Well, Miss Blonde, I mean, Steffy—this place here is one of the most convenient places to hang out in. The students used to call this place Tambayan. Although the principal already warned everyone to stay out because, as you probably know by now, this is the library's rooftop."
Without a cue, Yolo carefully moved to sit on the edge of the building.
"Ahhh, the view is just simply amazing," he said as he raised his hands in the air. “You could see the whole school from here!”
Rolling her eyes, Steffy walked towards him and urged him to go down so she could level her gaze with him.
"If this area is restricted, then why are you here?" she asked, fully aware that Yolo will not be leaving the place any moment now.
"I should be asking the same thing to you."
Steffy sat on the edge and heaved a sigh as she let her feet dangle. "I like to be alone sometimes. This place happens to be unoccupied. Well, not until you showed up unannounced."
In the corners of her eyes, she sensed that the young man was staring at her, but she decided not to mind the attention. Instead, she fixed her gaze on the view before her.
The place was quite big, although not as big as the Academy she used to go to last year and the years before that.
The Academy was a school built for billionaire kids like her. Such a school provided her with the knowledge that she will need in leading the life of a billionaire. It immersed her in unending discussions of the stock market, business ventures, and everything in between. It also trained her physically and educated her with the different fighting techniques and tactics that she might use once she gets full responsibility for her father's chains of businesses, and of course, once she inherits her father's leadership in the Alpha brotherhood.
"I know there's something fishy about you," Yolo suddenly remarked, shaking Steffy's private thoughts away.
"W—What do you mean by that?" she mumbled, suddenly concerned.
'Does he know something?'
Yolo intently stared at her, making her feel flustered and surprised. She cleared her throat and flashed him a blank face; her eyes suddenly sending daggers towards him.
"Come on! Don't stare at me like that, Miss Blonde. You look scary with that look."
“Who are you?” she asked.
Yolo let out a sarcastic laugh. “I am just nothing but an ordinary student, Steffy. But I know some things that other students do not have any idea about.”
“Like what sort of things?” she replied, clenching her fists.
Yolo’s face turned blank as he stared at her. “I've been observing you from afar, you know. And I happened to know what you did at the locker room," he said in an ominous voice. Steffy immediately recalled what happened to Charlotte and her friends. Upon hearing that, she immediately pinned the boy down. Her fist was dangerously cast in the air while her other hand firmly clasped Yolo's collar.
"Woah, Miss Blonde. R—Relax! I—I meant no harm—"
"Then tell me everything that you know!" she hissed, pinning him more on the floor. "Or I'll throw you down—"
"Okay, okay! Just let me sit properly, alright? How can I explain if you continue to treat me like this?"
Steffy pulled him up and roughly pushed his chest. “Just talk!”
"Fine! Fine! Jeez, what a tough woman," he mumbled to himself as he wiped the dirt from his polo shirt. “Gosh, these uniforms were brand new!”
Steffy rolled her eyes impatiently. “Will you stop that and start talking already? I don’t have a whole fucking day, Yolo.”
"Okay, so here's what happened. I was cleaning the locker room when I heard a commotion…”
"You were cleaning the locker room? What are you, a student or a janitor?"
"Well, both," he replied with an amused chuckle. "So, as I was saying, I was there and I saw everything. I hid in a teeny tiny corner inside that room."
Steffy's face registered from blank to shock, making Yolo twitch his lips into an awkward smirk. "I've seen what you did. And I know you were responsible for the girls' new fashion," he said, drawing a chuckle.
"Is that all that you know?" Steffy asked again, feeling a little perplexed.
"Yeah. I just saw you, that's all. Is there anything else that I need to know?"
Steffy drew a relieved smile.
“Of course, there’s none,” she replied, scoffing. “I’m just afraid you’ll tell the principal. I don’t want to get expelled.”
“Don’t worry, Miss. I’m close to the principal but I will not tell him anything, but man, I'm a fan," he playfully remarked. "I wish I can also do those amazing stunts you did to the girls. I wonder—"
"Shut up," Steffy snapped, making Yolo laugh a little. "No, seriously, that's all I know, Miss Blonde," he said, tucking his hands inside his pockets. Steffy took a few steps and carefully sat down again in her spot earlier.
"If you promise to keep your mouth shut," she said while giving him a cold stare, "I might give you a reward."
"Really?"
Steffy gave him a disgusted look when she saw how Yolo looked at her with such adoration. 'Jeez, what's wrong with him?'
But she was even more shocked when Yolo raised his hand in the air and started shouting at the top of his lungs. "You heard that huh? This badass girl here is gonna reward me! Wohoooo—"
"Fucking shut your big mouth, boy!" Steffy said as she grabbed him down. “You said this area is restricted. Why are you shouting like a maniac? Are you crazy? Oh, what a jerk!”
The next thing she knew, the boy was already hugging her like they’ve been the best of friends for the longest time. It gave her the creeps.
"I'm just happy. It's been a while since I made a friend."
Steffy was taken aback again. 'A friend?'
"Keep me as your friend, alright? That's just the reward that I want from you, Miss Blonde."
They stood in that position for a couple of minutes for Steffy was unable to comprehend how this stranger acted so comfortable around her. She thought something was seriously off but she could not point it out.
Realizing that they were still hugging each other, she roughly pushed him aside and said, “Stop hugging me! Do you realize how gross that is? No touching!”
She then hastily climbed down the stairs, completely dazed by the stranger's sudden appearance in her life.

"I've met this stupid jerk on the library's rooftop, George. He said he wanted to be a friend."
George flashed her a quick look through the rear-view mirror and chuckled.
"Does making a friend bother you, señorita?"
"It does," she said in a small voice. "The hardest part of this mission is not eliminating the target. I—It’s probably leaving all the people I might connect with in my stay here. I don't want that to happen when I’m done with my mission."
She just received a small grunt from him but she knew that the old man completely understood what she meant.
"Then,” he replied. “You have to do what your father told you, señorita—eliminate the target A.S.A.P."
Hearing that, she turned to stare at the window and admire the canopy of trees they passed by the street, and not making any more comments of what George said. But then he’s right. She had to kill the target before she developed any strings of relationships with anyone in the school.
Thinking of the possibilities, the face of the boy briefly crossed her cluttered mind. Everything about him was familiar. It just occurred to her that she had already seen him somewhere. She was sure that Yolo was not just a stranger. But where?
'Yolo. Who the fuck are you?’
5.AN ENCOUNTER∞≠∞ Tiffany was assisted by her father's bodyguards as they walked her towards the private chopper that her father sent for her. She was informed earlier that day about the special meeting with the Alphas in Ormon City. “Did my father give you any specific instruction about this trip?” she asked the goon that her father sent for her. “No, señorita. He just said you have to be there.” Tiffany immediately climbed onto the chopper and settled on her seat. From Libangon, the group will travel to a private place in Ormon City whereas her father will also be meeting with the city mayor. Ormon was located miles away from Libangon, but with Tiffany riding on her father's private chopper, it will just be a three-hour ride. She heard that her father and the city mayor will have a partnership in a certain business venture. But she's pretty sure such business will never come clean. It's already past si
6.PUNISHED∞≠∞ She had been mentally counting each passing second, hoping that time would run faster. Ever since the shooting incident happened in Ormon City, she had been constantly feeling agitated. 'It's been two days and there's still no sign of Yuan. What if he died and the Alpha's were not able to protect him? Maybe I'll ring Papa. Perhaps he knows something.' "Miss Steffy Rivera!" Steffy snapped back to reality when she heard the sharp voice of her teacher. "What is it, Ma'am?" "I—I've been calling your name but you seemed lost in your thoughts." 'Right. I am. I have to get out of here and find him.' "My apologies, Ma'am Amparo, but I have to go now.” Her teacher's eyes popped in surprise. Even her classmates were equally shocked by her actions. Ignoring them, Steffy gathered her things and stood up from her chair. "Where are you going? You cannot just leave the class like t
7. TEACHER GREG ∞≠∞ Several stacks of photos and newspapers were scattered on Yuan’s bed, and he was staring at them intently. The newspapers contained pieces of information about a man named Lucio Hernandez. LUCIO HERNANDEZ, AGED 36 DESIGNATION: ASSASSIN, DRAGON COMPANY STATUS: NOTORIOUS Along with it were black and white photographs of the people in the Dragon Brotherhood. There was also a folder that contained the brotherhood’s whereabouts. Heaving a sigh, he laid on his bed and thought about the shooting incident in Ormon City. Unmindfully, his right hand found its way towards his wounded arm. His left arm was bandaged and a basin of warm water sat on his study table. He got it from his encounter with Lucio Hernandez in Ormon City. The man had a
8 SCARRED ∞≠∞ "Do not make any noise." He could hear strange footsteps inside their house. His mother's hands were trembling as she held him and his little brother tightly. The three of them were hiding inside their small bathroom. "Who are they, mother?" eight-year-old Lucio Hernandez asked in a hushed tone. "Sssh! Keep quiet. They must not find us here. They will kill us," her mother replied in a trembling voice. "But, what about father? We should tell him to hide in here as well!" "Be quiet, Lucio!" Just then, loud knocks on the door and muffled voices were heard outside, followed by violent shouts. They could hear glass shattering and pieces of furniture falling. "Please do not hurt my family," he heard his father's voice. Lucio could tell how scared his father was. It seemed like he was about to cry any time soon. "Give us bac
9 TRICKS ∞≠∞ Teacher Greg smiled widely when he saw Steffy walking inside the room. Several students immediately gathered around her and started to ask why her blonde hair had turned into a dark shade of black. Steffy acknowledged them nicely and briefly explained that she had a sudden change of heart. He wanted so much to send her his compliments but decided to hold back his tongue, not wanting to create misconceptions in his students' minds. As a teacher, he did not want to be accused of favoritism; although he favored this gal a lot. In his eyes, Steffy looked stunning in her new look. With her small face, red lips, and fair complexion, black hair indeed suited her perfectly. Teacher Greg had been so enthusiastic with his discussions in his advisory class ever since Steffy was added to the group. Maybe because the new student's intelligence brought his interest to a different l
10 CONVICTION ∞≠∞ The familiar sound inside the casino made Tiffany’s head throb some more. Her father once again made a phone call, telling her she was summoned. So she immediately arranged her travel and as she just got out of the airport, she felt an extreme migraine. Bodyguards immediately gathered around her as she stepped out of the car her father sent for her. Her baggage was handled and she was immediately led inside the casino. It was a Tuesday evening, which meant the casino was full of badass businessmen and slutty mistresses. Such people were more than willing to gamble their fortunes for the sake of their egos and stupid entertainments. And since Tuesday nights were reserved for the VIPs, she saw a lot of faces who were prominent in the business sector. Tiffany also encountered celebrities. No wonder paparazzi were scattered just outside the building. The building itself wa
11THE MOLE∞≠∞Don Arnulfo was startled when he heard a knock on his office door. He was so absorbed in reading the latest news that it took him a minute to respond to whoever was at the door.“Come in,” he grimly said. The wooden door made a creaky sound as a man wearing a black tuxedo entered his office. Everybody in the brotherhood called this man Sebastian, although his real name was Carlos Cadavos. He was the Don’s right hand and his most trusted goon. Sebastian took confident steps towards the Don then placed a sealed envelope on his table. Don Arnulfo ripped the top-most part of the envelope and examined the contents. Immediately, his face turned sour. What he was holding right now was bad news. Very bad.“The Dragons have interfered—”The Don raised his finger to silence the man in front of him. “What exactly happened?&rdq
12 THE ALPHA BROTHERHOOD ∞≠∞ “Won’t you tell me more of the Alpha brotherhood, dad?” Mr. Hernandez looked at his eight-year-old son as the child stared at him with such inquisitive eyes. He wanted to dismiss the topic but seeing his son looking so eager and curious stopped him from doing so. “You are still too young to understand, my son.” “Dad, I know I’m just eight but since you have given me this golden key for safekeeping, isn’t it just fair that you’ll tell me all about it? I promise you I’ll be quick to understand.” The father let out an amused laugh. “You are indeed a clever boy, my son. Alright, let me tell you a story about a man named Don Victorino Viaje del Cargador. But you should promise me that you won’t tell anyone about it and that you will hide that golden key no matter what happens, alright?” “Not even mom or Little Ronan will know about it. I p
