Nathan watched her as their house began to fill up with presents and wedding things as well. She seemed to be happy enough though there was something missing in her mind. She would go and sit and look out one of the windows for hours on end. He knew it was because of him and his distance lately. He wanted to punch himself for making her feel that way.

Though when they were alone in the confines of the playroom or in their own bedroom, she met him on every level. He knew she still was everything he needed. His father's words echoed in his head as he walked towards her. “Kathleen?” he said, and she quickly blinked her eyes to clear them, and she turned his way and smiled.

“I didn’t know you were home.” She said as she stood up. “I will go and start on dinner.”

“Kathleen, wait.” He said as she tried to get by him. “I think we need to talk.”
