Chapter 5

Matteo De Luca's Pov

I was in my room getting all my things so that l could leave for the hospital when l heard a knock and my 4 sons entered

"Dad can we talk" Elonzo said

"Is everything okay guys" l said motioning for them to continue

"Yesterday before the doctor spoke about the girls being exchanged at birth you said that you knew Alexa wasn't your daughter"Leo said and that's one of the things l love about my sons they always come to me when they have questions or when they are confused 

"Yes l've known for a couple of years now"l told them honestly

"Why didn't you tell us dad we also had a right to know" Leone said

"At that time l thought your mother had cheated on me so l thought she was your half sister and l didn't want to ruin your relationship with your sister" 

"You know us dad ,we wouldn't have treated her differently because at the end of the day she was going to still be our sister you hid such a big isais from us " Elonzo said 

"And what about our new sister what should we do" Alex asked

"I can't tell you guys what to do just do what you guys think is right"l told them

"Can we meet her" Alex said

"Of course you can she's your sister"

"Alexa isn't going to be too happy about this" Leonardo snickered

"She's just going to have to accept it because as soon as Rosabella wakes up ,l will be changing her surname and taking full custody over her" l told them 

"Don't you think that's a pretty rush decision to take" Elonzo commented

"She is my daughter Elonzo and l won't have another man raise her" 

"That would be pretty much unfair to Alexa "Leone said

"Listen boys l have taken a decision now whether it makes Alexa happy sad is the least of my worries" l told them sternly

Time skip

I go to the hospital everyday and it's been 1 week

Alexandra's surgery was a success and she woke up yesterday and l even went to see her because now l could finally look at her and not feel betrayed but l could see how surprised she was upon seeing me 

Rosabella on the other hand her vitals have been looking great so the doctor decided to remove her from the induced coma today

Ronan has been here recovering but l am still going to hurt him in the most gruesome way for what he did since l now have evidence that he treated my daughter like a punching bag but first l want to hear it from Rosabella in order for me to show him what happens if someone messes with my daughter and l will make it as an example to everyone 

I even met the Rossi girls and they are just as obnoxious as l imagined them to be and no offence but Alexandra clearly takes after her sisters and l am just praying that Rosabella is different ,worst of all they just hover after Alexandra it's like they hadly care what happens to Rosabella 

Initially when Alexandra met them yesterday she asked who they were and Selena had told her that the Rossi family are her close family friends who she lost contact with but the Rossi's didn't seem happy to be introduced like that and quite frankly l understood where they were coming from l wouldn't want Rosabella to be introduced to me as a family friend 

Selena on the other hand is still adamant on not telling the girls the truth which l cleaelc told her would never happen, the girls will have to deal with the truth because they is no way in hell l am letting the Rossi family take my daughter home 

I haven't told Selena and the boys that Rosabella was being abused because l want it to be her decision to make 

I won't be giving the custody to Alexandra over to the Rossi's because l don't trust them not to abuse her so Rosabella and Alexandra will both stay with us even after we tell them the truth

My whole family was here today to see Rosabella except Selena who l am not sure what her problem is but l couldn't care less at the moment my daughter is all that matters

The doctor came out of Rosabella's room smiling

"Mr De Luca your daughter is awake and l am sure you can't wait to see her" the doctor said looking at me

"Is she going to be okay"l asked 

"We will monitor her overnight and her legal guardians can sign her out by tomorrow afternoon" the doctor

At that very moment all l wanted to see was her pretty eyes and when l opened the door l was met with those blue eyes that l would recognise anyway and l felt a tear slid down my cheek

I slowly approached the girl on the bed and l sat down next to her while she was still examining me probably because we looked alike

"Hey mio angelo " l said smiling at her

"Do you know me" she asked looking a bit confused

"Of course l do but l can't tell you who l am at the moment because some other people have to be with here when l tell you" l said hoping she would understand

"So you are a stranger and strangers are dangerous" she said in her cute voice and it just melted my heart 

"You are right bambina you shouldn't trust a stranger because they could hurt you" l said because in this Mafia lifestyle l need her to cautious of people she did'nt know but my little girl seemed aware of stranger danger

"Should l call your parents so that you know l am not a stranger" l said

"They came for me "she looked surprised that her parents were here and it broke my heart that she knew they didn't care about her 

"Of course they came ,they are your parents why wouldn't they" l was hoping that she would tell me about the way they treat her but she seemed pretty clever

"No l was just saying, they are always busy so l was just wondering but l knew they would come" l noticed that she was a bad liar by the way she kept rambling trying to find the perfect excuse

"You are very cute when you are rambling bambina" l told her and her cheeks were turning red due to her blushing and l laughed

"You're teasing me " she whined and l laughed harder

"You look so cute when you turn red" l told her while she giggled and l smiled this is how l want her to always be

The door opened while l was still enjoying my little girl's company

"Can we come in" Leone said 

"Yes sure " l said while Rosabella kept looking at them probably wondering who they were

"They are my family "l told her reassuringly

I introduced Rosabella to everyone and she kept smiling and waving at them 

"You have a beautiful and big family l wish l had a family like yours as well" she said with glassy eyes

"And l think you are probably the most beautiful girl l've ever met "Luciano told her probably distracting her from crying and it made me happy that her cousins loved her already

My brothers and l along with my parents left Rosabella with her brothers and cousins because we had to talk about the custody matters with the Rossi's

We went to Ronan's hospital room and luckily we found his wife with him

"Mr De Luca is something wrong" he said panickingly 

"I think it's time we talked Ronan" l said as l sat in the chair beside his wife

"I want full custody over my daughter ,l could go to court and get it but l want this to be done as soon as possible

"Am guessing that you are giving us full custody over Alexandra as well" his wife said

"Unfortunately not "l said smirking

"She's our daughter you can't do that " Ronan said looking angry 

"You couldn't take care of my daughter properly what makes you think l'll let you take care of yourself" l said

"Mr De Luca what are you talking about "his wife said shaking 

"Do you think l am stupid, you don't even know where she is or how she is right now and you say you have a daughter ,you hurt my daughter and l am going to keep yours away from you but that isn't the only thing l am going to do l am going to cut those hands that you used in order to hurt my daughter as a constant reminder of what happens when you mess with Matteo De Luca "l said menacingly to him

"I-l w-we didn't m-mean t-to hurt h-her l swear" he stuttered

"Tsk tsk you messed with the wrong family Ronan " Massimo said holding his shoulders and l swear l could smell his fear 

"I'll give the custody just don't hurt me " he said beggingly

"Sign these papers "Lorenzo said as he passed the custody papers to him which he signed hurriedly probably thinking l was going to spare him but he couldn't be more wrong

"You see Ronan we are going to tell Alexandra and Rosabella the truth and after that you and l are going to have a nice relaxing talk but since you are still Alexandra's biological father l won't cut your hand just a finger on each hand and l promise after that you will regret laying a finger on my daughter

"B-but y-you promised not to h-hurt me "he cried miserably

"I never promised and you know better than to make a deal with the devil don't you Ronan"l said already annoyed but his dramatic ass

"Please don't hurt him" his wife begged pathetically

"You digust me despite being a mother how could you hurt your daughter" Oral said

"I am sorry" she wailed miserably

"Don't overreact it doesn't suit you" Arabella said looking at the crying woman disgusted

"Now why don't you all act nice and we go tell our children the truth then we will continue our conversation" l said
