"Hey Alex, you need to see this" Josh waved over to Alex who was grabbing his lunch.
Alex sat beside him, looking around he noticed that everyone was looking down at their phones. "Dude look at this," Josh said pointing at his phone.
'Young girl found dead in woods behind North field High yesterday evening.'
-"It's all over the news, they said this girl was found dead in the woods behind the school, they said that she was brutally tortured and had like a billion cuts and bruises," Josh shrieked.
"Actually these past weeks there's been an increase in murder cases." Alex couldn't wrap his head around it, are these somehow linked with a large number of people suddenly moving into the town.
"Look there's a picture of the girl."
"She kinda looks familiar," Alex commented with furrowed brows
"Wait isn't she from the other school across town; she was dating some guy here. How unfortunate. " Alex knew his friend would figure
Josh knocked at Alex's door, Jamie answering. "Hey look who it is, it's my beautiful princess," Josh said as he went on knee kissing Jamie's hand. "Joshy," she said scruffling his curly brown locks.Josh laughed asking the small blonde where her brother was. She held Josh's hand leading him to Alex's bedroom where Alex was found laying on his bed barely even dressed."Thank you, your highness." Josh said kissing her hand one more time Alex smacking the boy on the head "Don't even think about it, she's my sister." He said as he sat back down on his bed.Josh got up looking at Alex who looked like he just woke up from a nap. "Why aren't you ready? And why are you in your underwear?" Josh asked with an annoyed frown on his freckled features."What do you mean, I am ready." He said grabbing a nearby pair of flip-flops. Josh just smacked the flip-flops out of his hand. "I'm not letting you in my car looking like that." He said pushing the blonde into the bathr
Alex gulped what was his hundredth cup. He was sitting on the couch, a girl in a witch’s costume was beside him, running a hand on his chest. He was completely consumed by the spell of the alcohol and could barely register what was going on. He ran a hand through his hair before the girl beside him moved from her seat and instead sat on Alex's lap, her arms wrapped around his shoulders.Through hooded eyes, Alex looked at the female, not sure he enjoyed her on his lap, and even with all the alcohol in his system he still didn't feel right doing this. The girls on the other hand were just as intoxicated and didn't wait to smash their lips together. Again Alex could taste alcohol and lipgloss from the person, and again he didn't like it but this time he didn't push away. He let his hands rest on her sides as she continued. After several minutes the girl pushed away and that's when Alex got her off him and stood. He wiped the link streak on his cheek whilst navigati
Alex instantly awoke, beads of sweat trickling down his forehead; his breathing was fast and so was his heart. He had a rather peculiar nightmare of people in long robes which he concluded to be just another weird dream. He got up, walking to the bathroom before taking a shower ridding him of all the sweat. His phone suddenly rang, his hand reaching out of the shower before he brought it to his ear. “Hello?”“Hey man I know you like Xavier and everything but could you do me a slight favor,” Josh said on the other side of the phone.Alex sighed. “What is it?”Sighing internally, Alex was pushed into the mall by his friend and two other females who he had never seen before. He had no idea why he let Josh drag him into this, the male was very persuasive. The group went into different shops admiring everything, Alex trying to act like cared every time his partner showed him something. They finally stopped in a little
“Xavier.”Alex’s voice was frail and quiet, almost near a whisper. His body shook vigorously, his head pounding violently. There was a slight ring in his ear from bashing his head so hard that he could barely make out what Xavier said.Relief still washed over him; he couldn’t help but cry into Xavier’s shirt. Xavier picked him off the ground and into his arms, Alex still shaking like a wet puppy.Starting at a gradual pace, Xavier began running, slowly the pace picking up till the surroundings were all but a blur.Suddenly Xavier leaped into the air, landing onto a sturdy branch of the treetops. Clenching his eyes shut, Alex refused to acknowledge the fact that they were feet above the ground and that his supposed savior leaped into the air like he was about to set off for flight.Alex held on tight as they moved from tree to tree, the ride not a very comfortable one, especially with his leg feeling like someone
"Alex, come down before your breakfast gets cold.""Be right down."Taking two steps at a time, Alex made his way down the stairs and walked into the kitchen where his family sat. His mum slid over his breakfast; a grin spread onto her face.Jamie was playing with her food, this making Alex smile as it always did. Why is she so cute? Alex frowning a bit at the thought of a boy having his hots for her.The vibrating of his phone on the table was what broke the peaceful atmosphere."I need to go before I’m late for school," he sighed, wishing that it was the weekend.Alex stood from the table, grabbing his bag and keys before planting a kiss on his mum and Jamie. He then left, sparing a glance at them happily sitting at the table. He closed the door but as he jumped into the car he found himself back inside. He stood in the living room, his eyes growing wide his heart dropping. He no longer saw his happy family seated whe
Walking down the bustling hallways, Josh looked down at his phone for the third time since leaving class that ended just minutes ago. His eyes glossed over the many unread messages he’d sent to Alex.A week had gone by and no word from Alex. He knew his friend well enough to know he’d never skip school, ever. He’d go on and on about how he hated it but never once skipped even when he was sick. So, to see Alex not skip just one day but an entire week of school, on top of ignoring his messages, worried him.Josh continued out of the school and into his car.Parking his car in front of Alex’s house, Josh jumped out of the car trying to call for Alex. Like the many times he tried before, he didn’t answer. Josh walked up to the door, knocking a few times but there was no answer. He knocked a few more times but yet again, nothing, this time the door slowly opening.Stepping inside, Josh was met with a literal dump. Thin
“Alex, I think it’s about time we tell you what’s going on.”Alex looked between Amber and Bianca, his hands unconsciously fisting. He wasn’t ready for the truth; he wasn’t for any of this. As curious as he was for answers, he wasn’t brave enough to hear it. He could already feel his head throb before they could begin.“Well, you’re a pureblood,” Bianca said, her arms crossing, her gaze meeting Alex’s. “And you happen to be the only one.”Alex gulped, “Does that mean I’m kinda like a chosen one or something?” He awkwardly laughed trying to dispel the slight pit forming in his stomach.“Kinda,” Amber smiled but it looked too forced for Alex’s liking.“Sadly, it’s the opposite,” Bianca said, “Your blood however is incredibly powerful, enough to resurrect vampires but that means many will do anything to get their di
At that moment, Alex felt his world crash down before him. His heart was thundering like a warhorse, his body frozen in place. The taste of bile was enough to make him gag at that very moment. There in Alaster’s arms was his best and only friend, drenched in blood, his neck still oozing, reduced to nothing but a still corpse. His hand dangled lifelessly, each finger bright red.Alaster took long strides to the couch to lay Josh down yet Alex had barely even moved. His eyes kept to the empty space before him, his mind refusing to process the information suddenly forced fed to him.Slowly he turned to look over his shoulder where Amber was healing Josh, the pit in his stomach sinking further. Why was Josh hurt? What had happened for his friend to be reduced to such a state?“Is he ok?” Alex managed in a low whisper, his breathing slowly picking up, feet stumbling to his best friend’s side. Amer still had her hands on his neck that wa
