After having that dinner with Jamie, Jamie returns to his place on his own. Victor starts his car and fetches me up at the entrance.
Just as I enter his car, I remove my wig and turn to Victor who is staring at me with an excited face.
“How's the date?” he asked.
I pout, “It seems like it is not considered as a date, but…” I then put up a smile, “He is trying to keep me by his side.”
As Victor hears me, he immediately picks two cans of Jack Daniel’s Whiskey and Seltzer up from the cup holder. He hands one to me.
With a bright smile, he opens his drink, “Cheers.” cheered Victor, “To Henrietta.”

“There you are!” The strange girl walks straight towards me and grips my wrist, pulling my hand away from Bobby's. Out of surprise, Bobby let my hand slip off. “I was waiting for you right across the street! It seems like I’ve gotten to the wrong place!” The girl's action draws me out of disappointment, yet her words make me hesitate for a moment. Why is she grabbing my hand? Why did she talk like she was waiting for me to go somewhere together? Who is she? Do I know her? Has she mistaken me for her friend? Because if she has, I swear I can be her very best friend of her life for the following few minutes.
“Get going, your boss is waiting.”As I am immersed in my thoughts, the girl smiles at me.“I’ll see around.” she said. There, as she says, she reminds me of the girl I met at Andrew Peyton’s birthday party when I was young. She said she’ll see me around, yet at the end, we never met again.Trying to not let my happiness slip away from my hands again, I promised myself not to make the same mistake ever again in my life.I wasn’t able to obtain an answer to my last question from that girl seventeen years ago, but this time, I will make sure that I will have my question answered before I go.
With a blank mind, I stand in front of all the messes the juices had made. A cold catches me from my nape causing me to turn a little light-headed.I bow my head low, not because I want to keep my eyes on the floor, I am just too timid to raise my head and look at Jamie’s face.He had a bad day. Being insulted by his employee in front of the clients isn't just any small matter that the boss can get over easily. One cup of ristretto is the only thing that is simple enough to make him a little less angry, just one cup of ristretto will do… But I failed to get it for him.And now, just by my third day at work, for the second time I manage to cause a big mess in his office, staining the floor and the carpet, the furniture and the decorations nearby, and the both of
“Are you alright, madame?” in a soft voice he asked.Just by the moment I hear his voice, my tears burst out of my eyes. I swear to God, this is the gentlest voice I have heard lately. It is just half way through today, I feel like I have been through a long whole day.He has his troubles to worry about too, furthermore, we barely know each other, yet he is willing to be so gentle towards me.Trying to show my gratitude, I squeeze a smile out of my face. I can’t see my own smile, but I am somehow certain that it must be one of the ugliest ones. However, he does not see me as a weird person. He takes down his blazer and puts it on me, cover
Not knowing how many hours has passed, I wake up again. The sky has completely turned dark when the hands of the clock strike ten.Vaguely, I hear my doorbell keep buzzing. That must be what pulled me out of my dream valley.“Coming...”With a hoarse voice I answered, though knowing that the person standing behind the door won’t be able to hear me.I take my time to separate myself and the comfortable couch. I stand up with my sore legs and walk to the door. I look through the peephole and find Victor standing right outside the door with his hands hidden behind his back.“Victor?”
The streets have been hectic, the people have been busy. It is just another day for the hardworking people to continue earning their living, including me, Henrietta, for I am the CEO’s secretary of Minerva. In case you haven’t realized, I have a rather high rank in the company’s organisation hierarchy, as the name of my position sounds. However, there will always be one man I have to serve. “Good morning, Jamie.” Holding a cup of ristretto, I enter the office and walk towards the desk where Jamie is sitting. I say as I carefully put the paper cup down on his table, “Here’s your ristretto.”
Okay. That is not what I see coming. I think I’ll just have to make up some excuse now, quick.Something like, because I want to help the person I like? No. That’s too obvious, and it makes me sound like I mind him too much.Or something like, because I am just curious about how the meetings look like? No. That makes me sound like I couldn’t care less. Why don’t I come up with something in the middle? Like… “Because I feel insecure when you leave the office.”Hah! Alrighty girl! That's what I’m walking about! Now that makes me sound like I prefer to
Time flies, it is in the afternoon when we arrive at a Spanish restaurant called Los Alimentos. It is a sumptuous place with luxurious meals and desserts. The waiter sits us down at a table for two and takes our order. For I haven’t had enough strawberries, I order a glass of strawberry agua fresca. I leave the decision making for the rest of the meal to Justin. He orders beef carrillada for the both of us, and a glass of white sangria for himself. As I take a look around us, I find the place crowded.“Wow.” I exclaim whispering as I spread out the cloth napkin and put it on my lap, “This place is gorgeous, and there are so many people here.”Justin shrugs, “They have the best Spa
