Chapter sixty-Six

Lucas sat at Jessica’s bedside; he had her hand in his while watching her breath slowly.

His insides tore when the surgeon delivered him the terrible news. After a couple of hours in surgery; he told him that they were able to save her life but not that of the baby.

Due to the stabbing in her abdomen, she lost a lot of blood and by the time they reached the hospital it was too late; the baby was too young to survive such a severe bleeding.

 Lucas gently caressed her knuckles, wondering how to tell her the news when she wakes up.

He was torn between the loss and the fact that Jessica didn’t tell him about it, and he tried his best not to over think.
