Chapter-6

The present tense is all we know regrets of the past we don't show

The sight of a vehicle is fading in front of my eyes. He's going to leave me alone. I can't see his face. "Please don't go, please don't leave me alone," I shouted on top of my voice but he didn't listen, he just vanished.

"Amanda wake up! Wake up!" Someone shouted in my ear.

Slowly I opened my eyes, everything is in a blur but where am I? I was getting confused when I saw mom's face. Again that dream. I saw that dream again but I couldn't recall anything, everything was in a blur.

"Hurry up girl otherwise you'll be late and I don't allow tardiness." She demanded then walked away but wait for what? How did I end up here? As far as I remember I was in Cole's car yesterday when we were heading towards my home. He was driving his car so fast and then I fainted but how did I end up here in my living room? I removed my blanket when I felt something in my hand. Wait what is it? It is a bracelet quite simple but elegant made with black pearls but it isn't mine. Whose is it then? I never saw this before. 

"Maybe it's Cole's," My inner voice said.

Yeah maybe it's his but how did it end up in my hand? I think I need to ask him what happened yesterday. Hopefully, I didn't do anything wrong. With that in mind, I stood up to get ready for school. My so-called plan of escaping from Cole already failed so there is no need to be at home all day. I was heading upstairs towards my room when my cell phone started ringing. I took it out from my pocket and looked at the caller id, it's the Vess. Do you know what sucks? Forgetting about your best friend in your mess. I answered the call "Amy I'm going to kill you." She yelled and I mentally slapped myself.

"What? But how? Why?"

"Yes you heard me I'll snatch away all your food and eat them myself so that you can die from hunger."

"Ok, but first tell me what happened? Why do you sound like you watched something ridiculous?"

"He's not ridiculous he's hot." She uttered. 

"Seriously you need to, oh forget it!" I ran out of words and let me tell you Vess has a new crush and she's not telling me who he is. She is always talking about him like he's this he's that like he's a superhero ugh!!

"You're changing the topic, Amy! Anyway, now that your mission has failed you're coming to school right?"

"How do you know about it? And yes I'm coming otherwise mom will torture me with her lectures." I sneered. 

"I'll tell you how I know but firstly get ready I'm coming over to pick you up." Then she hung up.

I ran towards the washroom to shower. I came out after ten minutes and wore a plain shirt and pants and sneakers. I made a ponytail and was collecting my things when I heard a car horn. It's Vess. I collected all my things and went downstairs.

"Mom I'll eat something at school," I uttered and ran towards the car.

Can you guess how she knows that my plan got flopped or worse that she also knows that I was with Cole yesterday? She didn't tell me how she got to know. What did she ship Cole's name with mine? She keeps blabbering about Camanda and Amole like seriously? These names are more disturbing than Cole himself. Vess has gone mad, more than that she's hiding something from me which I need to find out.

We reached the school in less than twenty minutes. Vess had a different class so she went the opposite way, I headed towards the lockers to keep my bag in it but when I opened my locker there was a big board placed in it like very big which filled all the space and what was written on it?

"Cole is the sexiest man alive." was written in bold letters. Shit, how did it end up here? It isn't mine definitely but the main question is what should I do?

Oh just shut up and also shut the damn door, will you? Otherwise, anyone will see it.

My tremendous inner voice yelled. I was just about to close the door when someone started chuckling.

"Look girls this nerd doesn't have any guts to pursue a man by herself so she's doing this kind of stuff to satisfy herself! How are you? Still in kindergarten? Still, dreaming that one day everything will change like magic and you will get your prince charming? But let me tell you one thing straight this is real-world and you're nothing but a piece of crap that nobody wants. So, don't try to worship my boyfriend!"

Ladies and gentlemen, I just got insulted by the bitch Veronica herself and she so-called two fake girls. Who the hell is she saying all this shit to me? I need to say something.

Say something damn it.

"Uh, at least I'm not like other fake persons and who said I'm interested in your boyfriend? I'll never be interested in him so I'm not your competition happy? You can relax now" I said with a smirk.

"Look at yourself! You filthy creature you can't even stand by me and you're saying you're my competition." I mentally groaned this girl's brain is not working.

Maybe her brain is also made up of plastic-like her.

Yeah, you can say that she's full of plastic. Suddenly her eyes were staring at something else. Her gaze was fixed on my hand fist or should I say on my fist.

Shittt!

"Where did you get it from?" She saw Cole's bracelet in my fist.

"Listen Veronica it's not what it looks like." I just don't know why I didn't tell her the truth.

"Yeah, it can't." Her face became red with anger and I was stopping myself from laughing so hard when she snatched that bracelet from me and walked away.

Before anyone can see it I quickly closed the locker and headed towards my class when someone grabbed me by my shoulders and slammed me on the wall of an empty class.

"You liked me that much?" He whispered, his minty breath caressing my ears.

"Uhhh! Who?" Seriously Amy, who? How many of your fans are here? How can you be so stupid when you know who he's.

Yeah you know who he's you just don't want to accept that. My so-called inner voice again mocked. But everything is so dark here.

I don't know how but it all happened so fast, all the lights were switched on, blinding me that  I immediately shut my eyes. Then out of nowhere, I felt something wet and a ghastly smell hit my nose.

I opened my eyes and a balloon full of paint directly hit me on my face. It is disgusting. Ughhh I just want to die right now. Then the devil himself appeared in front of me holding that damn balloon again. What should I do now? Should I slap him? But I already did something like that because of which all these things are happening so what should I do?

Oh just forget everything and run.

I gathered all my strengths and before he could do anything I ran towards the door but not everything goes according to you and in my eyes, not a single thing can go according to my wish.

"Damnit! The door is locked." I yelled. In reply, all I heard was a chuckle.

Not just a chuckle a sexy chuckle.

"Oh shut up will you?" I muttered under my breath.

"Parker is so clumsy, clumsy is a nerd but Parker is an idiot while I'm smart as fuck." Oh not that again.

Listen enough is enough it is a door dies situation just face it or-or-- Just face it damn it.

Yeah, it's time for payback playjerk. I went straight towards Cole. He didn't move he just stood there with a smirk.

"Well! Well! Maxwell, you smell that bad? I didn't know that before ughhh." I made a disgusting face and before he can do anything I snatched that balloon from him and ran towards the door.

Well, you all must be thinking why can't I just hit him with the balloon but I was waiting for the perfect moment.

When he came to stop me so that was the perfect moment. His face was so close his breath was almost touching me. Well, he's thinking that he can divert my mind or should I say my hormones but not this time Mr Maxwell. Just when his nose touched mine I dropped that balloon on his head.

"Well! Well! Smelly Maxwell, you stink now." I sing a song or at least I tried but when I waited for his response all I received was a deadly silence then I looked up to meet his eyes he was already gazing at me through his hypnotizing eyes. Seriously? Had I done something wrong? Had I invited all the more trouble for myself? Or all this is going to be over?
