Chapter 13: Future Queen

Andrella's POV

I started recalling all my parents' warnings about 'Not to go out with strangers.' Before I would have doubted him more, he opened his mouth. "Since we don't have to go far from here that's why I chose to cover that distance by walking and spending some time with you. I hope you won't mind.", He said and I mentally slapped myself for thinking unnecessary things for no reason.

We walked for a while and stopped our track when we reached a large tree.

The same very tree from which I fell down when I was a kid.

The same very tree which disappeared automatically.

And the same very tree which I saw from Grandpa's palace.

.

'How the hell is it possible that this tree keeps moving here and there?'

.

"This tree is the entrance to the spirit world. Or say trees like these are the entrance to the spirit world.", Cade answered my unasked question. Then I looked at that mysterious tree. "At exactly 12:00 AM, this tree starts growing taller and taller until it reaches it hides between the clouds. It is also said that there are many trees like this in the world.", I was listening to everything carefully. I would have asked again that how did he know all this? But then I remembered his previous answer.

"Even this information has been shared by your fathers, isn't it?"

"My father?", He asked in confusion.

.

"Didn't you mention before that your father shared the details of the spirit world?", I asked, observing his facial expression. He smiled and shook his head as if he found this fact funny. "What? Why are you smiling?"

.

"Nothing just...I am proud of your memory.", He replied while I found amusement in his voice. "And yes, My father shared everything about the spirit world.", He added. "Now, we have to start climbing the tree to enter that world.", He stated.

"I...I am not sure that I can climb the tree.", I whispered. "Actually it is because I fell down from the tree when I was young."

.

"I know."

.

"Huh", I looked at him in surprise but he smartly covered up his words.

.

"I mean, everyone fell down from the tree at their young age.", He explained. "But don't worry I had already planned about his situation.", He added and I raised my brow to listen to him out. "You can't climb on the tree but you can climb on my back like a backpack, isn't it?"

"But..."

.

"Let's not waste our time in all this.", He cut me off turning in the opposite direction so that I could face his back and then bend a little. "Come on." He said and I wasted no time in climbing onto his back wrapping myself around him.

.

"I am ready.", I whispered in his ear to which he nodded and started climbing the tree. My heartbeat was really fast because of the position in which we were. Soon, he started climbing on the tree while I closed my eyes because I was afraid of heights and started thinking of ways to divert my mind.

.

This was the first time that I had been this close to a man who was not a family member.

And he was not just some random man, but he was THAT MAN who increased my heartbeat every time.

Blushing, I tried to smell his scent but I couldn't find one.

That's strange, how couldn't he have his smell?

I couldn't understand the reason behind it after all it was so uncommon.

'Don't tell me I lost my smelling power.', I thought and came back to reality when I heard my name being called.

"Andrella..."

.

'Huh?', I kept my eyes closed for a minute with my arms still around Cade's neck and legs around his waist until I felt his hand touch me.

.

"Not that I don't like the fact that you are holding me tight like this, Annie. But We are here.", He spoke amusingly. I gasped and he laughed. He lowered himself a little so that I could slide off and stand on my feet with a red face.

"Sorry", I whispered.

.

"Well, I was not complaining.", He smiled, making me smile. I looked around to see the place where Cade had brought me. And there was a huge mansion surrounded by the scary forest on one side and a green beautiful forest on the other side. "The mansion belongs to the Eldest Prince of the spirit world who is also a good friend of mine."

"How? How do you know him?"

.

"Long story. I will share that later. As for now, I have to take his permission so that you can meet your grandpa's soul.", He replied, to which I nodded without asking any further questions. Then I saw Barrett standing near the mansion.

.

When did he come?

Of Course, he was Cade's beta then he should be with Cade all the time but I didn't see him coming here.

"Hello, Ms. Cornell.", He greeted me with a smile and bowed his head in respect. I couldn't understand his gesture toward me. 

.

"Hello Beta Barrett.", I greeted him back with a smile. Cade guided me inside the mansion but it was strange that even though it was the mansion of some prince but everyone was bowing down their head in front of Cade. Not to forget, none...I repeat NONE of the guards stopped him. There could be two reasons for this. Either he often visits here OR...

.

"Stay here for a while. I will be right back after taking Prince's permission.", Cade said while I tried to ask so many questions but he left me in that room and walked outside.

I walked behind me to check whether he locked the door from outside but gladly he didn't.

Sighed, I looked around to see the room in which I was.

WOW...was the first word that came to my mind.

The room looked like it belonged to some higher authorities.

I felt the door being opened from outside. I thought it was Cade but a lady who looked like a royal princess was standing there, staring right into my eyes with excitement.

"So, you are the one.", She quickly ran toward me and gave me a tight hug. "I am so happy that he finally found you, Andrella.", She stated, making me frown. I slightly pushed her away to break the hug.

.

"Sorry, but who are you? Do you know me? And what are you talking about?"

.

"Oh I am so sorry.", She gave an apologist smile. "I am Barrett's girlfriend, Trisla. And I am talking about Cade. You know he went everywhere to search for you, Andrella and I am so glad that he is successful now.", I didn't say anything to her and just listened to her. "It's so nice to finally meet you, my future queen.", She said cheerfully.

What Barrett's girlfriend was doing here?

And why Cade used to search me everywhere?

Why did she mention 'Future Queen'?

What the hell was going on?
