Chapter 24

Nikolay:

I woke up with a smile on my face.

For the first time in a while, I had actually had a full night’s rest.

And when I looked beside me, I knew the reason.

There she was, the girl who I had longed for. Asleep beside me on my bed. Her palm under her cheek as she breathed evenly. Sleeping on her side facing me, her expression calm. I was tempted to run my finger over her cheek, smiling at the sight of her being in peace by my side. Her and I having had a long night last night, and no, not that type of night. We just stayed up drinking, laughing, and talking for hours.

However, both of us made sure not to get too drunk as to lose control or not remember what had happened. Just enough to loosen up and enjoy one another’s company, somewhere in the night we were watching a movie and I looked beside me to find Kiara curled up on the couch asleep. She had changed into sweat pants and a comfortable shirt a while before the movie and was sleeping
