Pursuance Five

“Nothing? What’s nothing?” The first thing Yuki mumbled after Draze let him knew Daro evaded his prison.

Yuki faces confusion because for him it was very absurd to escape it.

“Daro is no longer in his cell. One of your guard men confirmed it to me and I verified what he said was true.”

Yuki stood up in his chair in horror.

“What? How did he escape?" The fell face expressed in Yuki’s representation. Draze also responded with an identical reaction when he first heard it.

“I think someone had helped him to escape. Someone in your man who is a traitor, one of whom you trusted,” Draze muttered seriously.

Yuki clasped at the edge of the table. He was angry, and Draze saw it in his uncle’s face. “Tell the three Elemental vampires that Daro escaped from prison. You passed this fastly, it will cause a big problem and chaos if we don’t take it fast.”

“I will immediately announce. But strangely, who could be that traitor who has escaped him? And what’s the reason?” Draze opinion while staring intensively at Yuki.

“I don’t know. Why do you ask me? Go, they should know it right away. If he had escaped for a long time, we would probably no longer know where he was.” Yuko sat in his chair, leaning back seriously, thinking deeply.

Immediately Draze left the principal office. Whoever does this must prepare himself for Draze will not take it easy to it.

“Se? I’m right that he was not in prison.”

Draze halted when he heard Luxen’s voice behind him. He could see the smile of Luxen that annoyed him to his bone. He was so pissed knowing that Luxen was always right in his suspicion.

 Draze immediately clutched his collar.

“Why? Did you have something to do with it?” Draze accusingly emphasis. Luxen not even staunched by what he did.

“Yow! Relax Se. You know you can’t trust me more than anyone, Draze. You don’t take a joke as a joke, right?” Luxen smirked, his hands in upward in the mid-air.

Draze was itching to hit Luxen smiling face to get rid of it.

Draze let go of Luxen.

“Prepare yourself if you have something to do with this, I’ll kill you,” Draze threatened him.

“You are not fun to tease, Draze. You are so serious as always. Why no one wanted to fall in love with you. You made them scared,” Luxen grinning at Draze.

“I’m not stupid to help the one who killed my parents, Draze. You know how I wanted to kill him with my hand.” A fit of anger flashed in Luxen face.

“Really?” Draze sharp gaze to him.

“Se, I’ll gotta go, see you around, Draze.” Luxen tapped Draze shoulder before he left using his vampire speed.

“I will monitor you, Lexus. I do not believe you have anything to do with this,” Draze telepathy said to him. He only heard Luxen laughed in his mind.

Draze fisted his hands of irritation and using his supernatural speed he went to the secret underground in FU. No one could see the dimension that will lead him to the secret dungeon of prison for the vampires who have violated the vampires’ law and ordinances.

Draze found Abor one of the vampire guard standing straightly in the secret door that leads him to the secret dungeon.

“Abor!” Draze called the guard.

“Why, Mr. Ionikov?” The guard queried after he bowed down to Draze.

“I want you to monitor Luxen. If you saw his weird behavior of him, get back to me. I know I could trust you for this. Tell the other guards to watch diligently. Understand?” Draze commands Abor.

“Rest assured, Mr. Ionikov!”

“This can’t be happening. There will be great mayhem if Daro will not get arrested as prematurely as workable,” Draze whispered to himself while leaving the place.

****

Vesta knocked on the office door. She waited for this opportunity to speak to him personally. She had many questions that needed an answer from him.

“Come in?”

Vesta's two ears heard what he announced. She put up with a deep breath. She couldn’t concentrate her attention in her class because of the thought about what would he confide in her. Vesta thought he has more knowledge from him.

Vesta deliberately opened the door. She stared at him for a long time. She saw in his dark eyes why a student was there in his office. He was trying to remember her if she was one of his students.

“What do you need? Do you have a question about my discussion earlier?” he asked Vesta, yet the visibility of his face trying to remember what subject she was his students.

Vesta shook her head and went inside. He had a beautiful office; she stayed looked at the bookshelf with many books before she landed her gaze on the computer on his desk.

“Sit down.” He pointed out the vacant chair in front of Vesta next to the desk.

“Thanks, you’re different now, Jake Gomez. You look professionally a professor.” Vesta smile. She saw the shock on his face.

“Huh? Who are you? In your tone, it seems you know me.” He watched me intently.

“You don’t even know me because I changed how I dressed plus my hair and my eyeglasses. I’m Vesta Fades the brother of Xyller Jade Fades.” Vesta introduces herself to Jack.

Jack surprised at what Vesta said.

“You are Xy’s brother? Why do you look like that? You are so different, I didn’t recognize you,” Jack said to Vesta, puzzled, and stared at her from head to foot and back to her face.

Jack knew Vesta very well because he was acting like her and her twin brother as the big brother of the two. Jack was Vesta’s cousin.

“Hmmm,” Vesta smiles widely at him. Jack’s eyebrows lifted because he knows what that smile means to Vesta.

She walked over and sat in the vacant chair. Jack had a great impression of the necklace she’s wearing and there he just realized it.

Jack nodded. “Ok, what do you need, Vesta?” He looked at her. Vesta knew he was not expecting that she will be here, the place where she grows and where it gives misery and pain to her.

Vesta looked at Jack seriously. “Tell me, did you know what happened? The entire event happened to my brother?”

Vesta saw how Jack’s eyes went wide and how he looked away from her eyes. He gripped the pen in his hands. Does it seem Jack knew something and why the question was hard for him?

He knew something!

“Tell me, Jake!” Vesta uttered when Jack kept silent. She wanted to know what happened.

Jack absentmindedly touched his chin. He stared at her, empty. Xyrell was in the first year of college when Jack suggested to her brother that he will school in FU.

Vesta not going to forget Jake’s promise to her: he takes good care of Xyrell and watched over him, but what happened? Vesta's brother lost, he left behind. She blamed him for why her brother lost. She blamed him because after what had happened he had not spoken to her; he told nothing.

“Vesta... I don’t know what happened to Xyller. As far as I know, he will go to the Moran forest to do his research. I didn’t accompany him because he said he will be with his friend. I didn’t ask him who. Then the news brought to me he went missing. I went to where the police found his bags and his things. Forgive me, Vesta, if I didn’t tell you because I’m guilty, I couldn’t face it because I didn’t keep my promise. I’m so ashamed of myself.” Jack’s eyes got watery.

“I’m so sorry, but he may be dead, Vesta,” he weakly announced with his head down.

Vesta’s eyes went wide. No one told her about Xyrell had someone with him when he went missing. As the investigator said, her brother could have been dead.

No! No. I knew he was still alive. Deep down in her heart, I know he was alive out there. They’re wrong. Vesta would believe if she could see his body, and then she would say they were true. But now, they’ll be lying, for they can’t prove to Vesta that he was dead. Just the body he had enough of her to slap her with the truth that she was wrong and they’re right from the start. Then she could move on from it after.

“You promised me, Jake. Why?” Vesta was in pain, saying that she had mixed anger with her voice. She gets sick. She felt the tearful tears in her eyes that would fall into that hiding place.

“I’m so sorry, it’s my fault. I’m sorry if I broke my promise to you, Vesta. I’m sorry that I did nothing,” he bowed his head. The pain was there, and the regret.

Vesta’s heart was aching in pain. It was being crushed; she knew it was extremely painful. Vesta wanted to cry now. She doesn’t want to believe what he said to her, or even accept his sorry. After all, it was useless to say because It’s too late to say those words to her.

“I don’t believe what you said, Jake. I know he was still alive. Don’t lie!” Vesta gritted her teeth as the pain and anger combined inside her.

“Don’t be ridiculous, Vesta. That’s true. I’m sorry, but you need to accept it. Don’t be act like a fool because you’re the one fooling yourself here, not me, not us.”

Vesta could hardly breathe at his word. Damn him!

Vesta quickly stood and turned away to leave. She didn’t want to speak, and maybe she didn’t realize that her tears were leaking. She doesn’t want him to see her crying, hurt.

She left Jake. No words.

Her brother! He’s the only one left in her life. She doesn’t want to believe what they said she won’t!

Vesta breathed hardly because of the lump forming in her throat. She doesn’t want to cry. She doesn’t want to cry, to feel sorry and defeated.

Vesta started sitting in the hallway chair. Vesta doesn’t care if someone saw her here like a hopeless. She didn’t care what will they thought about her

Even a few years later. Vesta still can’t move on, she won’t believe he’s gone. Nothing more.

Vesta leaned against the wall, head up. She stared blankly at the ceiling for a minute.

“I want the truth. I want the truth, only but the truth. Who did that thing to him? I want to find out what, who and why,” Vesta said to herself.

There was something Jake didn’t tell her, she can feel It. He is hiding something, and she needs to know what it was.

She tightly fisted her hand. It was not the time for her to feel hopeless. She only needs to do one simple thing to find the trail that will lead her to his brother, to find the truth.
