Chapter 1

"Celene Monte, 14," I introduced myself.

My gaze went to the whole class that were not even paying attention to me and shrugged my shoulders. I turned my head to the teacher whose name I didn't bother to remember and asked if I could go back to my seat. She gave me a quick nod and called the next student.

I went back to my seat in the front row on the right side of the classroom.

The first day of school really sucks. No matter how many lifetimes I was already reborn, this is one of the things I hated. Though I was lucky to get reborn in a modern world just like I hoped for. But this time I was not an orphan like the 99th life. My parents urged me to go to school even though I didn't want it.

"You're already in the second year of your high school life! And you are still like that! Just better use your energy to make friends rather than being cooped up in the house and keep whining on not going outside."

I remembered how mom scolded me when I tried to reason that I didn't want to go.

Sigh. It was not like I wanted to disobey them either. After all, they would lose their eldest daughter on her eighteenth birthday. The least I could do was not cause any trouble to them. Hayss. That was why I hated to have connections in many lifetimes. Many dramas would occur. And the feeling it gave me...

It is another whole new feeling than dying. Knowing that someone would get hurt after you die, it sucks if you have to experience the same things many times.

I shook my head because of these negative thoughts. I just turned my gaze with disinterest at the other kids who were introducing themselves in the front.

Friends huh? Sorry, mom, having you, dad, and Clara, who is my little sis in this world is already enough for my troubles. And I plan to continue living as a lonely nobody this year until the last years of my high school life. Maybe I could try applying for a special exam to college? Ah, not that I will be able to attend one either or finish it.

"Hello! Everyone!" The whole class chattering died down as we all looked at the last girl who introduced herself with a scream.

"I am Monica Breeze! And my dream is to create the best band in the world! I will start by beating the Dare." She threw a high fist up the air and her eyes were brimming with confidence and determination.

The class went silent. Then one after another, someone started laughing. "Oof! That's really a dream! If you are aiming to defeat the Dare." Then everyone started laughing too.

But she remained unfazed as she walked to her seat at the back.

I wonder how people could easily embarrass themselves just like that. And still acted normal. After more hours of boring discussions that I already know. The bell for lunch break finally rang.

I stood up from my desk and grabbed my lunch box. As soon as I went out of the room, screams and squeals from different students echoed through the whole school.

A strum of guitar was heard from the announcement speakers. I inched closer to one of the windows where the students were already looking.

In the middle of the school grounds outside, four boys were there. Two held electric guitars, one on the drums and the other was on the keyboard.

"Ah, it's them." If I forgot to mention, our school, Interhigh Academy, was famous for producing great bands. And those four, which are the same year level as me, are currently the best and most famous band right now on the campus. If I remember correctly their band is called Dare.

Last year, the way they claimed the championship of the Interhigh Battle of the Bands from all the seniors was said to be shocking to everyone or albeit many also exaggerated it as revolutionary.  Aside from their good looks, they are really good and have the talent for music.

But aren't they supposed to be five?

Haha. Look at me explaining these things that I didn't really care about. I put my earphones to my ears and proceeded to walk. I don't want to waste my lunch break on other matters and not be able to eat.

I went up to the fourth floor and headed straight to the farthest room on the east side.  It was an empty room with some chairs and tables in disarray. I always took my lunch break there. Since this was the place where no one really bothered to go since I started attending this school for first year highschool last year.

I stopped in front of the door when I saw it was adjacently opened. I just shrugged my shoulders thinking that maybe some student went to get extra chairs from here again.

But I was mistaken. The door was open because someone was already inside.

As I opened the door, there he was, the missing fifth member and the vocalist of Dare, Cylle Dayne. He was leaning on the glass pane of the open window. The wind from the outside was blowing the curtains inside. His scene was so perfect, like some photoshoot of some model right now. But then his closed eyes slowly opened. Light blue eyes met my dull black eyes. His brows twitched seeing me before it was quickly replaced by a cheerful one.

"Hello!" He cheerfully greeted me. "Do you need something from this room?"

Yes. This is my place for eating my lunch in solidarity is what I wanted to say.

"Sorry. Wrong room." I just said instead and shut the door creating a loud bang sound right in front of him. I didn't expect I would insert much force there.

"But I guess my favorite room will be occupied now." Sigh. "I'll just look for another place to eat."

I turned away and started walking away from the room. I was a few meters away from it when someone grabbed my arm. Out of instinct, I grabbed that someone, and threw him on the floor.

*Boogsh.* That loud thud brought me back to my senses. Cylle. His eyes looked at me wide open and shocked. Damn! My survival instinct from that world was still etched throughout my entire system.

"You..." Cylle tried to stand up, his voice was filled with complete confusion and seemingly anger. This is surely a mess.

I bowed my head. "Sorry!" I quickly turned around and ran before he could completely recover from being smashed down haha.

"Hey!" He shouted but I completely ignored him as I made way for my escape. If you don't know what to do, in the meantime, running would be the best way for now.

"Wait! Come back here!" My eyes almost popped out from their sockets when I saw him running after me.

Arghh!

Shit!

Stop chasing me.

No. Why are you even running after me?

I was nearing the stairs heading down for the third floor. However, the crowd of students forming in the hallways there due to the concert came to my mind.

Sh*t. If they saw that I was being chased by this guy...This would cause a lot of attraction and commotion.

Imagine. A nobody was being chased by their campus star lead vocalist. That would certainly cause a lot of trouble. I understand clearly that many people would go crazy to people if they thought someone was trying to steal their idol from them. I have seen that kind of thing in many worlds and I assure you, it’s pretty exhausting.

"Sorry!" I shouted back at him. Maybe he would forgive me? And stop chasing me if I say sorry again?

"Do you think sorry would be enough? Wait, 'till I caught you." He shouted at me again.

Or not. haha. This is not getting funnier anymore. Should I just knock him unconscious?

"Damn!" Certainly, I didn't want to cause attention and at the same time be caught by this crazy guy.

My gaze went to the open window just before the stairs of the third floor. Here goes nothing. I halted from running then looked back at him.

"Finally, giving up?" He too halted and just a meter away from me. He smirked which only infuriated me more. Though one could notice that he was already breathing hard from all the running.

"Tsk. I already said sorry, you should just be satisfied with that already. You're annoying." I said as I jumped from the window.

 "You! What?!"

As I jumped, I grabbed into one of the branches of the tree that was just outside the window. Then I let go of the branch and do a swift backflip to land on the ground. This is where I get thankful for all those martial arts I learned from the wuxia world.

"Ahh!" Two students who were having their lunch screamed when I landed right in front of them. I bowed my head to apologize, "Sorry." But I also didn't forget to glare at the guy, who 'caused this all. Then raised my middle finger on him.

His shocked expression turned to anger. Not that much I cared about it now. I started to walk away, but then my stomach crumbled at the same time.

The bell also rang indicating that lunch time was already over.

"Ah, sh*t." I haven't eaten lunch. I sighed.

I guess I'll just skip school for this afternoon and maybe the next coming days too. That guy might come after me if I went back to my room now. After all, his room was just three rooms away from mine. He's in section 1 while I'm in section 4.

How did I know? Most of the time he was the talk of many girls in my class. To the point that even if I was not interested in listening I still ended up listening to it. That was why it was not really a surprise If I knew this.

I should also think of what excuse to make tomorrow for my absence.

"Ahh! Help!" I halted on my steps when I heard Cylle's voice. "Don't tell me..." On one of the tree branches there, he was hanging.

"Sorry! I can't do backflips!" He shouted at me.

What the heck is this guy?
