Chapter 34

The first morning light hits the lump of mist clouding the steady evergreen trees. A large white-headed eagle flies freely over and opposite the direction of the flowing stream of fresh water before resting on the surface of a shaft that sinks into the ground. It crows, disturbing the stillness of water beneath the well. The crystal clear water gurgles and whoosh scaring the eagle away.

At a distance lies two creatures half awake. The soft brushes of the wind and silliness of tiny brown four-legged creatures running through and over their body awaken Amira. The heaviness on her head crunch her as she sits on her butt, her head tilts to her side and her eyes shut close as they adjust on the light that welcomes them.
