“Dara get up!” Dara heard some voices calling her. Her eyes opened. She had her mirror in her hands. “Come on get ready sweetie. We’ve only one hour left.” Ellen was trying to wake Dara up.
It was four in the midnight. Dara quickly got up, brushed her teeth and had her breakfast.
“Mom where are my bags?” she asked.
“I’ve already sent the luggage. You go get ready. We don’t want to miss the flight.” Greg spoke.
Dara went to her room and put her diary, her drawing pad and her mirror in her backpack. She rushed to the front door of the house. She was so excited. She started to wander here and there at the door. After about ten minutes her parents came to the door. “We’re all ready to go now.” Greg uttered.
They sat in a taxi and off they went for their flight. In the plane, Dara looked out from the window and wondered how will she meet wade? “Does he still remembers that I exist?” she thought, “How am I going to find him? I never even knew where he lived.”
She took out her diary from her bag and started to write;
“Dear Wade;
I’m off my way to meet you but I don’t know how I’m going to find you. I will come to that big rock everyday where we used to spend most of our time before. I sure am to find you there. I believe you haven’t forgotten me. I didn’t even had a chance to say goodbye and I have regretted it all these years but now I’ll find you and tell you all we’ve missed.”
She closed her diary and gazed outside to the clouds. Time moved as slow as before. After spending hours gazing outside the window and thinking about her childhood in Nexorus with her grandfather and Wade, she finally reached the island. She came out from the airport and inhaled the beautiful fresh air.
Nexorus Island was a small island in the middle of the ocean. It was far away from other islands and continents. It was surrounded with water. It had very less population but civilization was well developed.
“Finally reached home.” she expressed.
There was a white limousine waiting for the family. Dara’s grandfather was a really rich man. In fact, he was the only rich man on the island. Dara hopped in the car and they headed towards the house.
They reached the house in about fifteen minutes. That house was a big house but it was old. It looked a bit spooky as well. There was a man all dressed up standing on the gate to welcome them.
“Sir was expecting you an hour ago.” he said to Greg.
“Our flight got a bit late.” Greg told.
That man led the three of them in the house. The big entrance door opened with a squeaking sound. They moved inside. That house was same as it was before years ago when Dara lived here.
“Grandpa!” Dara called as she moved towards the stairs.
“Sunflower!” Stephen smirked from behind as he moved out from the dining room. Stephen was an old man in a wheelchair. He looked sick and pale since he was aged. He was Dara’s grandfather.
“I missed you.” Dara quickly ran towards her grandfather and hugged him.
“I missed you too sunflower.” he hugged her back.
Greg and Ellen also met Stephen.
“You lot must be hungry.” Stephen turned his wheelchair to the dining room, “Don’t keep the food waiting.”
Three of them followed Stephen towards the dining room. It was a big room with a long dining table and big paintings on the walls. They sat down to eat.
“Your favorite chocolate pastry sunflower.” Stephen passed a plate of pastries towards Dara.
“Is this from The Bakings?” Dara looked excited.
“Yes flower, you loved them when you were little.”
“I still love them. Couldn’t find any pastry like these back in the city.” Dara took a pastry and started eating. “Ummmm…they really are tasty.” she expressed.
“Tomorrow is you school. I’ve talked to the principle and she told me that you can join from tomorrow.” Stephen told Dara.
“School already…” Dara sighed, “But I just came here.”
“You will probably make new friends here.” Ellen smiled.
“What if Wade studies in that school too” Dara thought and then said, “I really am excited to go to my new school and meet new kids.”
The family was having a good time. They laughed and talked. Stephen told about his life alone in this house. Dara told about hers. After sometime, Dara started to sense fear. It was some kind of a superpower which Dara had. She could sense feelings.
It was her grandfather. “What is he scared of?” she thought. She grabbed her grandfather’s hand and smiled, “Now I’m here for you. You won’t feel alone anymore.” She could feel the feelings of fear fading away.
She could still feel something not right. She picked up a glass to drink water. She was drinking water when she suddenly saw that dark thing from her dreams appearing before her eyes. She quickly threw the glass on the floor and stood up.
“What’s the matter Dara?” Greg got worried.
Dara looked at everyone and then said, “I…I think I’m a bit tired. I should go take a bath.”
“Sure sunflower.” Stephen said and then he looked at the maid, “Lead her to the bathroom Rosy.”
The maid led towards the bathroom and Dara followed her.
“Sir talks about you a lot.” She told Dara, “I always wanted to meet his granddaughter.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you too.” Dara smiled.
“Here’s your room.” the maid opened the door of a room.
“Is the basement room empty?” Dara asked.
“Yes it is but it’s not cleaned.” The maid told.
“Can have that room?” Dara asked, “I really want that one because when I used to live here before, that room used to be mine.”
“Well sure you can. You go take a bath and I’ll clean that room as soon as possible and I’ll also put your luggage in that room.” The maid said this and went away.
Dara went in the bathroom and opened the tap on warm water. She took her clothes off and relaxed in the tub with minty bubbles all around.
“Ahhhh…so relaxing.” she expressed. She closed her eyes and remembered those days when she and Wade were together. She started to move her hands all around her body and relaxed herself even more. She started to get horny. She slowly moved on of her hand towards her clits and started to rub gently. Suddenly she felt someone else’s hands around her waist. Her eyes suddenly opened and she saw a reflection of something in the water. She screamed a rushed out from the tub. She grabbed the towel and rushed outside the bathroom screaming.
“What’s the matter honey?” Ellen came running towards her.
“Th…there’s something in the bathroom.” Dara looked scared and she started to cry.
“Let me go check.” Greg said. He went inside the bathroom. Everything seemed okay. He checked in the tub, behind the door and also in the cupboards. No one was there. He even checked the only window which was in that bathroom. That was also locked.
“No one’s there.” Greg told as soon as he came outside from the bathroom.
“But…but I saw it.” Dara cried.
“Honey you need to go get some sleep. It’s a big day tomorrow.” Greg spoke.
Dara went back inside the bathroom looking scared. She put her clothes on and went down to the basement towards her room. She jumped on her bed, “I can’t believe I’m finally back here.” She picked out that small mirror from her back pack and stared at herself in the mirror. She suddenly saw her eye color changed to black. “Ahhhh…” she got scared and the mirror fell on the bed from her hands. She quickly grabbed the mirror again and looked at herself in the mirror. Everything was okay. “I think I’m tired.” she said to herself and started to unpack her luggage.
Everything was at its place where Dara had left it. She picked out a key from her bag and unlocked the drawer of her study table which she had left here years ago. She took out the drawings and the cards from the drawer. All of that was given from Wade to her. She read the cards and missed Wade so much. “Oh! I wish you were her.” she sighed.
She then put all of that back in the drawer along with her diary. She locked the drawer and got up to put her clothes and shoes in the cupboard. She took out the wig which she had bought to cover her hair but she got no chance to wear is back in the city. “Now no one will see these grey hair and I won’t be a weirdo after all.” she said to herself.
She then got up from the bed and moved towards the window. The basement had two parts. One part of the basement had four two rooms and a big hall. This part was on the ground. The other part was the real basement which was below the ground.
Dara’s room window opened to the garden which was at the back of the house. It was a big garden. Cold wind blew and the moon looked beautiful than anything. She put her ear phones on and played hers and Wade’s favorite song. She sang softly with the song and watched the moon as it shined. “O for I can’t help falling in love with you!” she sang.
After the song finished, she thought to go to her bed and get some sleep as she was feeling tired and sleepy now.
“I hope to find you tomorrow.” she said while looking at that mirror and slept.
“Dara!” he whispered in her ear. It was thundering outside in the middle of the night. Dara’s eyes opened. She got up and turned around but found no one. She was about to sleep again when she saw him standing in front of her. She screamed. He put his hand on her face and asked her to be quiet. In an instant, Ellen came to Dara’s room and he just disappeared somewhere.“Is everything okay?” Ellen asked her. Dara told her that she just had a bad dream.“Do you want me to stay with you for a while?” Ellen asked.“No mom I’m okay.” Dara replied. She asked her mother to keep the lights and the door of her room open.As soon as Ellen got out from the room, Dara got up from her bed and checked everywhere in her room but found no one. She came back to her bed and started to think, “Was that a dream? But it didn’t seem like one.” She rolled here and there on the bed and finally went to sleep again. Her eyes opened. The brightest rays of the sun were coming insid
Dara hurriedly got up from her bed and took out her drawing pad from her bag. She tried to remember the face of that boy whom she saw in her dream but couldn’t. “Why can’t I remember his face?” she thought. She remembered everything about her dream except for his face. “Was that actually Wade?” her eyes filled with tears when she thought this. She closed her drawing pad and gasped, “That was just a dream after all.” She got up from her bed and went upstairs for her breakfast. “Good morning everyone.” she entered the dining room.“Good morning sunflower!” Stephen greeted.“Honey, come have some pancakes.” Ellen called Dara.Dara sat on the chair with a pancake in her plate. “Ummmmm…” she expressed, “These are extra delicious.”“How are you feeling today honey?” Ellen asked.“I’m good Mom.” Dara told, “Just had a crazy dream last night.”“Well, I’m glad you’re not imagining things today.” Greg smiled.“Imagining things?” Dara inspected.
Dara came back to her seat. That boy wasn’t there. “Where is he?” time passed but he still wasn’t there. William came and sat beside Dara. He teased her during the lectures and the boring day turned into a pile of fun and laughter. On the last period, that boy showed up. William rolled his eyes and got up from his chair. That boy sat beside Dara. “Where have you been?” she asked. He ignored her and only peeped outside the window. “Why is he like this?” Dara thought. She tried to focus on her lectures but could not. There were many things popping in her head. She wasn’t thinking about Wade. She was thinking about what wrong had happened to that boy. Meanwhile in a period while the teacher was out a boy threw a pencil from behind towards that boy’s head. It hit him on his head. Some of the students started to laugh. “Stop it!” Dara got up from her chair, turned around and yelled. It was silences in the class. Everyone stuck at their place. Dara then sat back on her chair.
Dara reached home. Stephen was in the garden with Ellen.“Dara, where have you been?” Ellen looked worried, “And what is all that dirt on your clothes?”“I…I have been playing.” Dara lied.“Have you been to the woods?” Stephen asked.“No…no Grandpa.” Dara lied again, “I got a new friend today. Her name’s Ashley. We were at the park near her house.”“Good. Its better you stay away from the woods.” Stephen spoke.“Ashley told me that the woods are filled with wolves.” Dara uttered.“Those woods are deadly. You really do need to stay away from that part of the island.” Stephen said while gasping a big breath, “Her brother got lost a week ago. I hope she and her mother manage to bare the loss.”“Honey you should go get something to eat.” Ellen spoke.“Sure Mom.” Dara smiled and moved towards the entrance door.“And get yourself cleaned.” Ellen said from behind her.Dara went in the house and directly went to her bedroom.
Dara ran and ran to make her way out from the jungle. She could see nothing but the big trees all around. “Can anyone here me?” she screamed but there was no one who heard her.She suddenly felt something running behind her. She quickly turned around. There was nothing there. She felt it again and soon she could see something running in the woods. It was black and huge. “Stop!” Dara ran towards that thing. It was the same thing she had been seeing in her dreams. That thing stopped and Dara went close to it. She went closer and closer. It was dark, hairy and big. It was huge. She could hear it groan. She went closer. She was scared but at the same time she wanted to see what that thing was. It was huge and sounded fierce. “What are you?” Dara asked in a scared tone from behind. It turned around.“Uh…” Dara’s eyes opened. Her head felt dizzy. She moved her hands towards her head and suddenly saw blood on them. She got up with a scream.“Is everything alright?”
During the class, Dara couldn’t focus on her lecture. The flash backs appeared before her eyes again and again. She could hear that boy scream for help and beg for life. This was like a thunder on her.The bell rang.“Finally!” Dara exclaimed.“Dara…” Charles held Dara’s hand, “Be brave.”“Come on let’s get you home.” William spoke from behind.Dara turned to William and then turned back to Charles to say him goodbye but he wasn’t there.“Have you lost something?” William asked.“No…” Dara looked puzzled, “Let’s go home.”They both walked outside the school.“Aren’t you coming Will?” Stacy gave William a voice from her car. Lenny and Sabrina were also in the car.“I’ll catch up with you guys later.” saying this William moved further with Dara. They walked along with the bicycle.“What happened beautiful?” he asked her along the way.“I don’t know. Everything’s strange here…” Dara was about to tell him ever
Dara moved here and there on her bed but couldn’t sleep. Her eyes remained open. She was feeling hungry. She got up and sat on her bed. She started to think about her time with William. Her stomach gave a sound, “Huh I should not be going to the kitchen in the middle of the night.”She got up and gazed outside the window. She stared at the big round shinny moon in the sky. It looked as beautiful as anything could be. She opened the window to let the cool fresh air come inside. She stared at the moon and cared about nothing. She started to feel strange. Her head started getting dizzy. Her nails started to grow. She could feel her bones moving and changing their places. She could feel hair grow on her skin. She didn’t know what to do. She turned to the mirror and saw hair grow all over her body. She saw her clothes tearing off. She was scared. It was painful but ticklish too. She saw herself turning into a wolf. She was big. She was huge. She was all covered with dark hair
“My room’s messed up. I need to clean it up.”Dara went upstairs to ask the maid help her clean her room, “I was wondering if you could help me clean my room.”“Sure Dara. Just let me finishes the dishes and I’m there.” the maid replied.Dara came back to her room and lay down on her bed. She pulled the pillow towards her to cuddle it and she saw her diary under it. She picked it up, “It’s no use writing this anymore.” She put it in a small plastic bag with the mirror and the cards too which were in her study table.“Your room’s really a mess.” the maid entered.“Well I suppose it is.” Dara smiled while putting the bag in her side drawer. The maid went to the bed and started sorting out the bed sheet.“Let me help you with that.” Dara uttered while sorting out the other side of the bed.“No it’s okay.” the maid uttered, “You should go get ready for the funeral while I clean your room. Your grandfather’s not expecting you to be late.”
