Chapter#03: A dream

“Dara!” he whispered in her ear. It was thundering outside in the middle of the night. Dara’s eyes opened. She got up and turned around but found no one. She was about to sleep again when she saw him standing in front of her. She screamed. He put his hand on her face and asked her to be quiet. In an instant, Ellen came to Dara’s room and he just disappeared somewhere.

“Is everything okay?” Ellen asked her. Dara told her that she just had a bad dream.

“Do you want me to stay with you for a while?” Ellen asked.

“No mom I’m okay.” Dara replied. She asked her mother to keep the lights and the door of her room open.

As soon as Ellen got out from the room, Dara got up from her bed and checked everywhere in her room but found no one. She came back to her bed and started to think, “Was that a dream? But it didn’t seem like one.” She rolled here and there on the bed and finally went to sleep again.

Her eyes opened. The brightest rays of the sun were coming inside the room. The bangs of the alarm could be heard in dead silence. She got up. “A horrible dream I had last night.” she sighed.

She went upstairs for her breakfast.

“Morning Mom, morning Dad, Morning Granddad.” She entered the dining room.

“Good morning sunflower!” Stephen greeted her. “You mother told me you didn’t sleep well last night?” he spoke.

“Just had a bad dream.” Dara told while pouring milk for her cereal. She had her favorite cereal for breakfast. “Yummm…I love the taste. Only this island can make cereals like this. I missed it so much” she expressed.

“This is the specialty of this island young girl. It produces the best things.” Stephen smiled.

Greg and Stephen talked about their stuff and Ellen went to her room as she had her breakfast while Dara ate her cereal. She suddenly saw the reflection of his face in the bowl. She quickly got up with a shock.

“Honey what’s the matter?” Greg asked.

Dara told him what she saw. He told her that she must be imagining things but she was sure about what she saw.

“Sunflower your father is right. You must be imagining.” Spoke Stephen.

“Yeah I think.” Dara gave a mock smile. “I don’t feel hungry. I should go get ready for school else I’m going to be late.” she said while getting up from the chair, “I don’t want to get late on my first day.”

She came back to her room to get ready for college. She went to brush her teeth. She opened the tap of water when suddenly her eyes got on the mirror and she saw him standing behind her. She screamed and ran out from the bathroom. She rushed to her parent’s room and told them that there was someone in her bathroom.

“You said the same thing yesterday Dara but when I went there to check, I found nothing there.” Greg uttered.

“I…I saw him. I’m sure tha…that he’s there.” Dara seemed afraid.

“Calm down honey. We’ll go have a look.” said Ellen while grabbing Dara from her arms.

Three of them went to Dara’s room. They checked everywhere and found no one.

“I told you no one’s here. You’re just imagining.” spoke Greg, “You’ll be fine just stop over thinking about anything you’re thinking too much. I know you’re thinking about your school. You’ll do great sweet heart.” Saying this he walked out from the room.

“I think your dad’s right. You’re thinking too much. Just stay calm and be who you are. What you’re seeing isn’t real. It’s just the mind playing tricks on you.” said Ellen in a soft tone,

“Mom can I wear the wig to school. I don’t want anyone seeing my grey hair.” Dara asked.

“Sure honey. You can do whatever is comfortable to you just don’t take stress of anything else your imagination won’t leave you.” saying this Ellen went out from the room.

“I know what I saw was real. It can’t be an imagination.” Dara said to herself, “Or what if it is an imagination? What if Mom and Dad are right? What I’m thinking about Wade too much? Well I should go check once again in the bathroom.”

She went to the bathroom again. “I know you’re in here somewhere.” she said. She waited for him to come out but there was no sign of him. “Huh…they were right after all.” she started to brush her teeth.

She suddenly saw him in the mirror again. She quickly turned around but found no one. She turned back again to the mirror. He was there, smiling and waving at her. She turned around again, but he wasn’t there. Then she again turned to the mirror, this time he wasn’t even there. She turned around and he was so close to her that she could feel his breath. She fainted.

Her eyes opened. She found herself in her bed and found him sitting on a chair beside her bed. She got scared and was about to scream but he stopped her, “Shhhh…” He held her from her arms and she stared at his face, scared.

Ellen came in Dara’s room, “I am glad you’re awake honey.”

He wasn’t there. Dara got too confused.

“How are you feeling now?” Ellen asked her.

“I am having a little headache.” she told her mother.

“You’ll be fine soon. Try not to take stress. I’ll get you something to eat.” saying this Ellen went out from the room and closed the door.

“Hey!” he called her as soon as Ellen left the room. Dara found him sitting on the same chair.

“Who are you?” she asked him in a scared tone.

“Someone you might not want to know.” he smiled. He knew she was scared. He held her hand and said, “I am not that bad. Don’t be scared.”

“I need to know who you really are.” she asked him while she was still scared.

“I got you some sandwich.” Ellen entered the room.

That boy again disappeared somewhere. Dara was totally confused and was scared too.

“Come on you have to finish this all and also have to finish the milk.” Ellen put the tray on the side table.

“Where’s granddad?” Dara asked.

“He’s asleep by now. You’ve been unconscious the whole day. We wanted to call the doctor but your granddad asked us not to.” Ellen told.

“Yeah he was right. I’m absolutely fine.” Dara smiled.

“I’ve to go honey. Your dad was calling me before.”

“Sure Mom. Don’t worry about me. I’ll finish the food.” Dara smiled.

As soon as Ellen got out from the room, that boy was on that chair again, “I won’t let you skip the milk today.”

Dara quickly turned her eyes at him, “Who are you?” she was still scared.

“Finish your food and I’ll tell you.” He made Dara finish her food. She wasn’t hungry but her fear made her finish everything in her plate and the milk too.

“Your mother’s coming. Don’t tell her I’m here or else…” he was saying this when the door suddenly opened. Dara looked at her mother and then quickly at that boy but there was on one there. “Is he a ghost? Is this house haunted?” she thought.

“Good girl! You finished it.” Ellen cheered.

“Mom I think I need some sleep now.” Dara told.

“Sure honey. Should I let the door open?” Ellen asked.

“No, I’m fine today.”

As soon as Ellen left the room he spoke, “So what were you saying?”

Dara turned around. He was so close to her; as close as one can ever be. He was on her bed beside her. He looked into her eyes. They twinkled. She knew it was him, “Wade.” she uttered softly while her eyes filled with tears. He held both of her hands. She started to sob. “What’s the matter beautiful?” he asked in a soft tone while resting his palm on her cheek.

“Why didn’t you contact me?” she asked him.

“Because we both fell in love and it was complicated.”

“How was it complicated? I waited for you every fucking day.” she cried.

“There are things you shouldn’t know about me. It’s better if you stay away.” he got her hand out of hold.

She held his face with both of her hands and pulled it towards her, “What is it Wade?”

“I’m a monster Dara!” he gasped, “You aren’t safe if I’m around.”

“Why are you here then?”

“I’m here to make sure everything was clear between us both. I shall go back and never return love. I want you to forget me as soon as you can.” saying this he got up from the bed but Dara quickly held his hand, “You’re no monster Wade.” He looked at her with the fiercest looks, his pupils turned golden and she could see this pointed bright teeth. He was a vampire.

She got scared but she knew the one she loved. She knew Wade; he was the same guy she loved years ago. She pulled him towards her. He fell on her on the bed. She could feel him breathing slowly. “Aren’t you scared of me Dara?” he inquired.

“All I know is that I love you and there’s nothing changing that.”

His face was so close to her that she could smell the sweet ropy fragrance of the blood he had been drinking, and then his tongue was in her mouth. In all truth, she had not invited this prodigy of a tongue; turning, she had merely wished to look at his face, expecting only that the expression of aesthetic delight she might find there would correspond to what she knew was her own. But she did not even catch a glimpse of his face, so instantaneous and urgent was that tongue.

Their lips were hooked and their tongues were rolled with each other. She could feel him kissing her gently with passion. She could feel his mouth pushing against her. Their lips were locked to each other. She wished to stop that moment a bit longer.

He looked at her in the eyes. He leaned forward and kissed her again and she kissed him back with more fervor than she had before, and they laid there kissing and kissing and it felt like the nicest thing in the world, her hands running slowly up into his thick dark hair and down over his thick shoulders and along his strong arms and around to his brawny back, holding his gorgeous male body against hers.

He slowly took off his shirt and his amazing chest caught her eyes. He unbuttoned her shirt and steadily rubbed his hand around her breast. She could feel the soft touch of his hands. Her heart beat was rising. He casually touched his lips on her neck. She got a ticklish but a very good feeling. He kissed her on the neck and kept on kissing her. Slowly and steady he was. Dara could feel his pointed teeth touching her soft skin but she knew she was safe with him.

He while moisturizing her neck, started to press against her tits. She could feel his mouth moving gently downward. He took off her bra and revealed them in all their glory. He took a minute to appreciate them. He touched them tenderly, like they were two little puppies that he adored. He kissed the puppies, all over, sighing with pleasure. Finally, he came to the nipple of the right breast. It stood up for him, expectant. Her nipple on top of that cake, it was like a candle. Warm like a candle it felt to his lips. She could feel heat radiating from under her legs. She was all wet. She could feel the wetness surrounding her. He was so good.

He then came close to her ear and whispered, “Good-bye!”

Dara’s eyes suddenly opened with a shock. It was morning. She was all alone in the room. She could hear alarm bangs and soft cool breeze blew through the half opened window. Was that a dream? Or was it actually the same guy whom she had loved years ago?
