A tragic memory of hers

The next morning, Mars was looking at the mirror, like there was no tomorrow,. "Father never let me cut my hair when I wanted to just because I looked like you, my face reminded him of you, he got more determination every single day after looking at my face, but I hated those long hairs because of the same reason, It reminded me of you, Mom, ain't I a coward ha-ha-ha." his laugh slowly died down as he got more miserable, he always acted as if nothing mattered to him, he was a cold piece of metal from outside, but inside he was so soft, so fragile that a single thought about his mother could shake his entire exitance.

For him talking to her like this alone was fine but if someone would mention her even accidentally, he could' not take it. A tragic memory of hers in his mind was plastered and it hassd been quite some years but he just could' not forget that terrible truth and get over it.

...

"Hey dude how are you." Michael entered the class and saw Mars and instantly tried to bring his friendly side to him but Mars was in no mood and he simply ignored him.

"You know everybody here calls me a ball of sunshine, even teachers do. You can get whatever help you want from me, I' am extending my hand to you for a great friendship for the rest of the year, you could rely on me." Michael was determined to be on good terms with Mars since he heard that Drake basically started all that because Mars helped the nerdy-guy yesterday.

"I told you yesterday that I don't like being around people, you really are a busy body... and besides that, even after yesterday, you think I will need someone's help to survive here hmmm... I get that you are a nice person but please understand that I don't have any interest in making friends here." Mars told Michael without showing a single emotion on his face.

But Michael has always been a stubborn one, he ignored completely what Mars had said. "Hey... you decided your club hmmm?" Mars mentally facepalmed himself for engaging with a nut-head like Michael.

"No, I haven't... yet" he said indolently.

"But I have" Michael had a proud face.

"Huh, what?" the word confusion was written all over Mars's face.

"Boxing... You were great really, and you know you have been a great topic since last night ha-ha-ha, everybody is talking about you here, and look that Drake did not even come to class, at first I thought he was badly injured but I found out that he is just embarrassed to face anyone and had not stepped out of his dorm ha-ha-ha." Michael was really cheerful about the fact that Drake got beaten up really good.

Mars could not help but smile a little hearing such a cheerful laugh, he never in his life heard something this cheerful after his mother’s death, he was always surrounded by straight faces or sorrow or strictness, these were the only few emotions he was allowed to have in his life but hurriedly gain his poker face yet again.

"Do you think I will join a club full of pathetic human beings? Nah, I am fine without that." he exclaimed.

"But dude, you have to join a club within one week of your arrival, it's mandatory." Michael said eyeing him.

Again, Mars could leave the situation on Principal but he wanted to explore this new life a little bit and maybe it was because of yesterday’s event or because of Michael’s contagious behavior. 'Joining a club will not be so bad' he thought to himself looking into nowhere.

"Okey... you have been here for a long time, so tell me a club, whose members mind their own business." Michael was surely annoyed again but still acted cheerfully towards the little brat.

"Swimming." Michael said and pointed his chin at a certain Blonde guy in the class.

Mars frowned and looked at the Blonde guy, "I don't know how to swim, you can say I am a mixed martial art person." Mars said while eyeing the Blonde guy from head to toe. "But I do agree that people from the swimming club mind their own business, I like it that way." he nodded his head with satisfaction.

"Come on dude like, do you really have to hate my friendly personality that much hmm, you can ask every single student who is their favorite, then it would be me and not that minding his own business guy." he tried to justify himself.

"Wait... you just tell me why are you being so nice to me, like you said yesterday, I am acting like a rude brat in front of you hmmm." Mars was confused at his change of behavior.

"Well, it's simple, I did not like your behavior, but the way Drake behaves makes me sick, I hate him from the bottom of my heart, and yesterday I thought that you are going to get bullied for the rest of the year so naturally I was worried for a fellow classmate, then you hit him and won the match I was just a bit... a very little bit scared of you, but I thought that if someone hates Drake and can tame him than he got to be my friend and after being worried for nothing I wanted to be your friend so ha-ha-ha, I might take advantage of your skills as a friend and you also helped him." Michael commented on his question laughing cheerfully and pointed at the nerdy guy ahead of Mars.

"Are you for real, who tells others that they want to use them, you know you are a total nut-head." Mars said calmly but internally he was moved by his words. The place where Mars belonged was never like this, you can't trust anyone there, anyone could be a liar, anyone could be friendlier one second and the next second they would be stabbing you in the back and about the nerd guy he did not even try to help him but since others had thought like this then he had no problem being the good guy.
