It was a Sunday and Maria and Michael decided to study for their assignment.
"So let's divide the assignment into three parts. I will do the anatomy stuff from Library and recent bigshots from newspapers, you do the work with history from the internet, because I suck at using it, and then finally we will both do the last part about the importance of sports according to basketball and shooting, doing our parts" Maria was making all the tasks clear to Michael.
"Ayeeeee... are you being nice to me by giving me less work than you because you were rude to me on your first day." he joked as always but she was not taking it and showed him her sharp
"Come on, you are acting like a girl right now, getting scolded by Mr. Stele is my regular task." he laughed just like always.Maria rolled her eyes at the fact that he said she was acting like a girl and turned her attention back to her food. "Ok, so at least tell me that you are going or not.""There's nothing to tell I am not going." she shrugged her shoulders."But why Mars... ok, don't give me that shit about minding your own business andIama reserved person or I don't like to make f
Noah was not as cheerful as Michael but his words sure had magic or was it just her who was experiencing all the new things in this new place. "Well about Michael, you might not have noticed but he is like that to everyone and about the contagious behavior I think it's just you exploring your own emotions, don't you think so." Noah said eyeing her suspiciously, making her self-conscious again."What nonsense are you spewing and why in the world are you talking like that all smiley and on top of that these are the longest sentence you have uttered since I came here." it was now Maria raising her eyebrows at him."What... is it illegal to smile or to tal
"Why." Maria asked nonchalantly, being rivals in the same team was nothing new to her, she knew this thing very well. "Taking interest in other's business, are we." Michael said teasing her and she just rolled her eyes at his statement, "Never mind." she focused on the pool in front again. "It's always been Noah to get the chances in these competitions, he has already won two gold and one bronze medals for the Youth Olympics. It's natural that they don't get along well. After Noah's victory, they never held celebrations, even their coach tries to keep them apart, he knows gathering them in one place for a thing like celebration can
Maria just chuckled lightly at Michael’s childish behavior and turned her attention back to the race. The race was at its endpoint but the events took a turn and at the very last moment Noah surpassed Jacob, it was more like they were at the same positions and soon they reached the finishing line touching the corners.Everybody was anxious as to what the result was because in the audience's eyes Noah and Jacob touched the wall at the same time but the winner could be one and that would be decided by their scores.
"You see Michael, the son of a noble family is not only bad at swimming but he also has this foul attitude that his father wanted to send him to the military so that he would learn some basic manners and stop causing troubles at the name of his family but that looser was rejected to even enter the military." Maria said eyeing Jacob."You are going overbroad." Jacob said, fuming with anger."If you think of this 50-meter race as a petty competition and act childishly after losing then your father was really doing something good and if you did not stop being childish then I am afraid that this news your family has never let out could destroy your fake im
Noah could not stop himself from letting out small laughs at the bickering of his two fellow classmates in front of him. "Woah, it's a rare sight. Ha-ha-ha-ha." Michael said and starting to laugh himself as well. Looking at those two laughing at basically nothing, Maria could not stop herself and burst into a peal of laughter as well. "Do you guys acknowledge that we are laughing at basically nothing." she said and all three of those again started to laugh yet again.
"Hmmm... Okay let's end this call here, take care." was the only thing her father said and cut the call. This time too, Maria could not even say goodbye properly. After last night her mood was quite good but now, she was again feeling sad and distressed. She wanted this chasing and hiding game to end. It was not like she wanted freedom and to live like a normal human being. All she ever wanted was some love and acknowledgment from her father. Maybe he loved her but children will never understand until and unless they were exposed to it.She again wondered if her father would be different or would stay the same if this problem solved. Thinking about her
"Oh, so you want me to teach you so that you can put up a good impression on the new coach. I see." she said crossing her arms and looking at him with her squinted eyes.He started to laugh awkwardly but his laughter had that piercing kind of tone, one could describe it as a dying whale’s scream. She fluttered her lashes as she felt her ears would bleed soon. "No, no, I really admire your skills. You seem to be more of an expert." he stopped laughing and gave her a thumbs up."Ok let's practice together then." she said smiling at him, making Teddy hug her in excitement andmariawidened her eyes in shock at his sudden act of clinginess.
