Austin's POV
"You are alone inside and before entering the elevator, sir." He reported.
"What are you saying?" I asked.
"What is it, sir?"
"Nothing, I got it." I just answered him but still confused about who is that woman. I did not saw her face as she's still looking downwards while still talking to me.
I walk towards the room of Quianna, but peek first to see if she's with someone inside. Upon seeing that she's alone lying on her bed, I entered the room and checking the place.
"What do you want?" she said while facing her back on me.
"I just got a report that the assailant went in this hospital." I answered.
"What? Did you catch him?" she immediately asked.
"Not yet, but our team is tailing him now, you can hear good news later." I answered.
"About my offer, have you thought about it?" I asked to him.
"I am still not sure. I can ask help with my best friend." She answered.
"But he's not a police officer. I can help you legally." I am trying to convince her. Wait, that's what the woman said at the elevator a while ago.
"We can also do it by ourselves." She whines.
"She said I should convince you." A slipped of a tongue.
"Who's she?" she confusedly asked.
"Just someone I saw a while ago. She said I should convince you." I explained.
"How can you believe that woman?" she said.
"She vanished after she said that to me." she stares at me and look away.
"But, I still don't know." She answered.
"You have to do this job with me Quianna!" I still insist.
"Alright! I got it!" she yelled.
"Would you be the witness, Quianna?" I asked her again.
"Alright, I'll do it." she answered, and I just smiled at her.
"This is Dispatch 2, we found the inn where the suspect is. We are entering in." Aaron said through the radio.
"I have to go." I said to her.
"I'll go with you." She said.
"No, you need to rest first." I said to her.
"But…"
"No buts, I'll update you later." I said then grab her phone and call mine.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"This is my number, call me if anything happens." I said then give her the phone.
"One more thing." She said and I just looked at her.
"We must keep it a secret to Dylan." She said, I just nodded and left the room.
Quianna's POV
I don't know if this is a good decision or not, but I guess having a police officer on my side would keep me safe from the possibilities of being in danger.
Dylan would help me with anything, but I will only put him in danger if I kept him in this mission. I will not say it's my mission yet because I don't know why I am the one who's receiving these messages.
Looking at the latest message again, I think I should do my part here. I stand up and remove the dextrose on my hand. I immediately dressed up and slowly opened the door. When I made sure that no one will saw me leaving the room, I run towards the elevator and went out of the hospital. I ride taxi all the way to the columbarium and look where my father lies. I contacted the place that I wanted to open the place where the urn is located, and they gave me their permissions.
When I opened it, the urn is empty.
"Hello? Aina?" I said through a call.
"Yes, Quianna. What can I do for you?" she said jokingly.
"I want you to do something for me." I said.
"That's what I say, now spill." She said.
"Can I look at the reports when my father was cremated?" I asked her.
"Why do you need it?"
"The urn is empty, my father is not here." I said to her.
Dylan's POV
After the work, I immediately went straight to the hospital where Quianna is. But before I reached her room, I noticed that the door is opened ajar and seems like someone entered or exited from it. I run to look inside but no one is there, I call the nurses but they don't know where Quianna is.
"Quianna, where are you?" I said upon she answered the call.
"Sorry, I have to step out for a bit." She answered.
"Where did you go in your state?" I asked worriedly.
"Come on, I am doing good. I think my wound is already healing." She answered.
"But where are you?"
"I am at Aina's, just catching up." She playfully said.
"I said I should be the one who'll visit her but she said she wanted to go out." I heard Aina said.
"I'll come there, wait for me." I said.
"No, we'll be fine." Quianna said.
"Come on, it's been a while since I saw him let him be." Aina said.
"Then, it's final. I'll be there." I said then ended the call.
Why did she went to Aina, I think she did not went there just to have a good time.
*Phone rings*
"Dylan, how's Quianna?"
"She's fine, I am on my way to meet her." I said to Quianna's mom.
"Really? The columbarium called me they said that Quianna opened the shelf. Is there something wrong?" did she really do that?
"Sorry but I am not quite sure but I can ask her about it." I assure her.
"Don't ask her, I'll be the one who'll talk to her about it." she said.
"I got it. ma'am." I said then ended the call.
Why did she open it? did she got another message again? Ugh, that girl keeps on believing that nonsensical messages.
I arrived at Aina's place and the place is so messed up. The drinks are all around the place as well the as chips and the food they ate. Looks like she's been here hours ago.
"Look at this mess." I said upon seeing them laughing at each other.
"Oh, it's Dylan!" Aina exclaimed.
"Oh? Why are you here?" Yana said.
"I said I'll go here, right?" I answered them.
"Come here my handsome best friend!" Yana said then drag me towards her.
"Yah! Let go of him!" Aina said. This is really a mess.
"Aina, do you know that I've been caught in some crazy scenarios these days." Yana started.
"Are you sure you just didn't go crazy?" Aina teases.
"Come on, you have to believe me." Yana said. And I am just watching them having their drunk talks.
"I am receiving messages that some unfortunates will happened, then poof! It really happens in front of me." Yana explained.
"Are you hallucinating?"
"No, I am not! I clearly saw and witnessed all of it!"
"Then, what did you do?" then Yana became upset all of a sudden.
"I can't do anything." She answered.
"All of it happened in front of me but I cannot do anything to prevent or solve them." She continues.
"You are a human after all, you cannot stop the roll of fate." Aina explained.
"But the fate keeps knocking and I think I should open my door for it."
"Yana, opportunities are the only one you should let enter. What will happen to your work? Would you apply for resignation letter?" Aina scolds her.
"Oh right! I need to go to work! I can't do that! Not a chance!" Yana shouted at her realizations.
"See? You should look at reality, my best friend!" Aina exclaimed.
"You're right! I haven't thought about that." Yana said then release a deep sigh.
"You're so dumb! Decide one at a time, no one's chasing you." Aina last said then collapsed. She's so drunk. I looked at Yana who's still drinking alcohol, she looks so stress.
"Yana, are you alright?"
"If you're asking if I am drunk, I am not." She answered.
"Why are you drinking suddenly?" I asked.
"Suddenly? No, I just wanted to catch up with Aina. We saw each other ages ago." She explained.
"But why did you go to the columbarium?" I asked then she put down her cup.
"How did you know?" she asked, and I just stare at her.
"Oh, mom told you? Nothing, I just missed my dad." She answered.
"But you're just shot, still need to rest."
"I am good, I can now run, and work. Sir! Please don't fire me!" she suddenly shouted which makes us both laughs.
"I will not, don't worry." I answered to her.
"This will be the first and last time I will ask favor to you about work, Dylan." She said and look straight to me.
"Can you just cover me up at work if someone asks for me? I don't want to get fired." She said sadly.
"Why are you so afraid of getting fired? Your mother will pass to you your hospital." I asked.
"Dylan, I need to work and study hard for me to manage the company well. I can inherit the hospital but how can I manage it if I don't have any experience?"
"They why not work in the hospital directly."
"Let's just say I need connections." She said jokingly.
"Then, am I one of your connections." I answered her jokes.
"No, you are my foundation." She answered seriously.
"You are always there for me, helping me and even supporting me in everything I do. That's enough." She answered then smiled.
"Then, am I just stuck at being your friend?" I asked sincerely.
---
Quianna's POV"Then I am just stuck at being your friend?" Dylan said to me."Are you drunk?" I jokingly said to him."I did not drink." He answered, another silence happened between of us."But why are you acting like a drunk?" I asked him."Who's drunk? I am not drunk!" Aina suddenly intervenes and collapsed after she said that."Yana…""Just go home, Dylan. I just want to breath fresh air." I said then get my jacket.I left Aina's apartment and sat on the wide bench here. I looked up and I saw a lot of stars shining at the dark sky. They looked so beautiful together, then this crazy idea suddenly crosses my mind, what if those stars are actually planets and people lived there, our parallel selves living at one of those stars choosing the things we do not do at this planet we currently live. That's so amusing, people are the same, but their lives differ on what choices they apply."What are you thinking so hard
Austin's POVI arrived at the station before the dawn breaks, I saw some constable moving around the whole place."Sir, you're early." Jason greeted me."What are doing here? Did you not go home last night?" I asked him."Aaron won't let the team go home until we found the suspect." He answered and started drying his hair with his towel."That guy, where is he?" I asked to him."I think he's at the evidence room" upon hearing it I went upstairs and go directly to the evidence room. I entered in and I saw him watching something on the monitor."What are you staring on, too early in the morning?" I said to him, and I realized that he's sleeping soundly."How dare you sleeping in here while the team is up the whole night?!" I yelled at him and smacked the back of his head."Austin! That hurts!" he shouted when he woke up."That hurts? Get a grip Aaron. I'll be out later." I said to him."Where are you going?"
Quianna's POVI saw the rescuers immediately responded to where the driver is. They are preparing for moving the victim out of the car and I just watching them silently and still worried about how badly that woman got injured."Ma'am are you sure someone is here?" one of the rescuers approached me and seriously asked me about it. I looked at him confused and glance at the driver's seat side of the car."Yeah, she's badly hurt. She's bleeding all over her face." I explained to him, and I saw him looking very confused like what in the world I am talking about."But, no one is here, ma'am." When the rescuer said that words to me, I felt my senses left my whole body. I feel numb, I definitely saw someone in there, bleeding badly."What are you talking about?" I just said to him and run towards the driver's seat. I looked at it and saw the seat was empty but there were traces of blood on some parts."Maybe somebody helped her to get off from the
Austin's POVI am standing here in front of the Imperial Hospital, Quianna should insured her life as she's always entering hospital since the day we've met. I directly headed towards the information desk and asked the room of Quianna. When the lady gave me the room number, I immediately walked towards the elevator and calmly pressed the floor button where the room is located. This time, I think we should stop thinking that everything is happening unusual, for it was really unusual. We should start asking how it happened and who's behind it, that's my agenda with Quianna today."Come in." she said upon knocking once."You knew that I'm on my way here?" I asked her immediately and put a basket of fruits on the table beside her."Yeah, Dylan told me." she answered and scanned the basket."You don't have to bring something like this." She said and started picking the grapes."This will be the last, can you stop going to hospital?" I sarcastical
Quianna's POVAfter Austin left, I think about all the things he said to me. Should I really need to leave the company for good? Do I have I focus on investigating my father's case? When should I tell of this to Dylan? I know I should trust my best friend but there's something about him that kept on telling me not to spill every detail that Austin and I have. I felt somewhat bored as I stare at the four-cornered white walls of this hospital room. I stood up and pull the dextrose stand with me as I walked through the hallways, it was a night of quiet and chilling place for me, this is the reason why I hate hospitals, I hate places that have no person in it, I hate to be alone.I continued walking and I reached the end of the side of the hospital where the rest place was located. It is a huge place enough for people who are visiting their loved ones in this floor, it also has tables and chairs used mainly by the doctors and nurses who are staying all night just to attend
Austin's POVQuianna received another message, why does it have to be now? The cases kept on piling up, but the culprits and suspects are still out there, free, and unknown by the police. After the dispatch happened during the terror attack, the person who's seen at the CCTV was discovered to be a corpse and now the whole force is being pressured by the media, they said that the police became soft on catching criminals that is why we are letting them free, all craps they are saying. After she called me, I immediately run out of the station and get in the car, I put the address on the map and it's somewhat far from here. I put my seatbelt on and stepped on the accelerator hard. I hope she's still doing okay despite of being pressured and worried about her mother, she should not loss another person especially if were dealing in some supernatural phenomena like this.*Phone calls*"Sir! How could just leave us here?" Jason said as soon as I answered the call
Quianna's POVAfter that incident, Austin and I head directly to Imperial Hospital. I need to talk to the head doctors there, not to ask what happened with my parents, instead, I need to know my allies to control the board of directors, after all I am now the president of the management. I don't know if I should tell this to Dylan now or just at the day he arrives back here, but I am sure news will immediately reach him.But on the other thought, I should call Aina. She's a forensic doctor under our hospital and he's father is a close friend of dad, I am sure he will help me especially in convincing the directors to support me. Note to be taken, our hospital has two sides as what rivalries always have. First side is to my grandfather's era wherein the other doctors are still under the close friend of grandpa, they have the highest position in every department of the management of hospital like finance and legal departments. Meanwhile, the other side is my parents', the
Quianna's POVAfter couple of weeks, the funeral was immediately taken care of, even the reading of my parents' last will testaments. Even if it is obviously that I am the one who will inherit everything they had, legal procedures are required for me to remain credible and reputable towards the shareholders and the society. Dylan already arrived last week, and he helped me with the needed documents and even closing mom's case. But still I did not say anything to him, except from the things that the police stated about the case. Austin and Aina are only the one who knows my plans, I know I should not keep this from Dylan. I would definitely tell everything to him when I finished doing things that I should do in the first place."Yana, let's go." Austin said to me, and I just gave him a nod."You don't have to go with me, though." I said to him as soon as I get in his car."I insist." He answered and started the car."But what did you call me? Yana?"
