Chapter 5 - Destiny

"Okay, done. To recover your strength, you'd better take rest for a while, Sir." The female nurse spoke while pulling out the needle that had pierced Jack's skin.

Then she gives Jack a small wad of cotton that had been laced with alcohol.

"Thank you, Nurse," said Jack as he pressed the needle that had pierced on his hand, "Sorry to bother you earlier, Nurse." Jack felt embarrassed for the nurse standing beside him, because just a moment ago he had been so forcing the nurse to draw his blood.

"You're welcome, sir. It's okay I also understand your current condition," said the nurse and then she left.

A few minutes ago the female nurse took a bag of blood from Jack's body. Jack's blood type A negative became a helper for the victim who had been hit by his car. It was a very strange coincidence when he thought back on all of this. Because usually the hospital always has a lot of stock type A blood to many pockets. However, currently type A blood is depleted, not a single bag is available.

After the nurse left him in one of the hospital rooms, Jack tried to rest. A little headache came hanging in his head. To get rid of the dizziness Jack closed his eyes for a moment. His face looked very tired with a thin, unkempt beard. So as not to feel sore from the injection, Jack then moved his hands up and down repeatedly. His mind wandered to the girl who was still on the operating table.

"Will the girl be okay? I really hope this is all just a dream. However, is just one bag of blood enough? So what if it's not enough?" Jack's face looked very disappointed, he lowered his face deeply.

Previously, in order to help the girl he accidentally bumped into, Jack forced a nurse to test his blood type. At that time he really hoped that his blood matched the victim, and sure enough after being tested Jack's blood matched. Without being able to stop it, he immediately forced to donate blood. However, Jack felt a little disappointed and frustrated, because the doctor forbade him to donate more than one bag of blood. Because at this time Jack was still under the influence of alcohol, so he could not give more blood to the victim. The doctor also said that it is not good to donate blood to donors who are still under the influence of alcohol. It would be worse for the donor than for the patient.

"I have to go back there, maybe the operation is over!" Jack tried to get up from the hospital bed with a slightly wobbly body.

He walked back to the place where he had been waiting for the girl to be operated on. Jack wanted to make sure that the girl he hit had surgery been completed or not. Curiosity and worry made Jack return to the front door of the operation.

It was quiet and eerie in that place, only the lights were still burning brightly. When he got there Jack saw another nurse doing her job. He also asked the nurse who was sitting at her workplace. Several sheets of paper and a notebook were piled up in front of the nurse.

"Excuse me, Nurse. Has the girl who was injured earlier had surgery done?" asked Jack.

A nurse who was doing her job immediately turned to the source of the voice. Her hands stopped writing when a man came to startle her. Now her focus was shifted to the figure of a man who looked very worried, "Who?" asked the nurse with a surprised look.

She also frowned because she didn't understand what's the man asking who was suddenly across her desk, "A girl, the victim of an accident a few hours ago!" Jack explained.

"What is the name?" The nurse continued.

"Umm ..." Jack didn't know what to say, because he didn't know the name of the girl he had bumped into, "I don't know, but that girl has long hair and she wears ..." Jack started to describe the girl he was talking about, but he was having a hard time.

"Wait a minute, Sir. I'll check it out first." The nurse then move from her chair. Maybe Jack was a bit of a hassle, but the nurse was quick to help him. The nurse wanted to find out the condition of the girl Jack was referring to. Jack stood by someone's desk, waiting for the nurse to ask questions and look for information for him. Then several officers walked up to Jack, they came in haste. But the man with the scar on his face didn't notice their presence. Because Jack was so busy watching the nurse talking to another nurse in the corner of the hospital.

"Excuse me, Sir. Is your name Jack Macario?" A man suddenly got behind Jack, and asked him. Jack then turned and faced the man who was asking him.

"Yes, that's right. I am-Jack Macario. What's the matter, Sir?" Jack looked at the uniformed man questioningly.

"Could you come with us to the office for information?" The uniformed man asked Jack.

"This concerns the accident you caused on the road," the uniformed man continued.

"Fine, I'll come with you, Sir. But what about the girl, will she be all right?" Asked jack.

"The girl is being taken care of by the medics, I think she will be fine with them?" The uniform man said.

“Really? Will she be okay? However, why until this moment the girl has not yet ….” Before Jack could continue his conversation, a man immediately put a handcuff on both wrists.

A tall man and his position was at the very front said, "You'd better be obedient, don't make a fuss. And we hope you'll cooperate by not making too much fuss!"

Jack immediately fell silent when he heard the instructions from one of them. Actually Jack will also immediately go to the police station after knowing if the victim survived. However, it seems that something is impossible. Because at this time there were several officers wearing full uniforms in front of him.

"I don't expect much from anything, I just want the girl to be safe from all this mess. Hopefully the girl can be saved, that's all I want," Jack muttered.

His eyes stared blankly at the operating room door, which was still tightly closed. The light above the door was still burning brightly, a sign that someone was being taken action. Not far from there was a sign with the name of the patient who was performing the operation. Sharren Watson is the name of the patient who is struggling on the operating table.

"Is that your name? I will look for you after this. I will be responsible if something happens to you," thought Jack to himself.

"Let's go!" A uniformed officer pushed Jack's body. The man lowered his head and could only follow where the officers took him.
