---Thomas POV---
I made it to Minerva's bed and tried to make it a night worth her time. I have been dying for her to bring up us being together and merging the packs, but she just won't budge. I fell asleep with her against me dreaming of what it would be like with her all the time if she would agree so I wouldn't have to kill her.
---
I hear the alarm going off and Minerva reached to turn it off. When she turned it off I was greeted with a shove off the bed. "What the fuck was that for." I groaned out.
"Keeping me up late when I have to be up at 4:30." she replied. "Now get up we have training."
I mumbled under my breath about how much of a bitch move that was as she made her way to the bathroom. I stood up looking around and grabbed my phone to check if there was anything to be concerned about.
"Call when you can. The child is getting sick."
I groaned and put my phone away. I walked to the
I woke up with a start. I keep having the same nightmare or vision as it was put, about Thomas killing me. I have to some how change course of action to change this vision but I don't even know of his plans.I slowly got up and head to do my business before going to training. I brush out my hair and french braid it. It's cardio day so nothing has to be tight or form fitting, so I head to my closet and put on a lime green sports bra, loose royal tank top and a loose pair of black workout shorts.I emerge and put on my running shoes and head out to the track to start stretching when I see Thomas and Stephan in a very serious conversation. They hadn't seen me walking through so with my supernatural hearing I caught some of what they were saying."I hear you Thomas but you know some packs show up early. There's no way to attack her then.""I have to or this won't work and the child will die f
I tried getting up and pushing off of Slate but he wouldn't let me go."Minerva stop. He doesn't mean us harm. I feel some way connected to his wolf."I continued to struggle when Xavier spoke. "Minerva stop. I have something from your mother that will explain a lot of what is happening."I stopped struggling and just looked at him. I didn't know what to say or do. My mother died having me and 26 years later he claims to have answers."I know it's been a long time and I know you're trying to gather why I waited. We had an understanding that I would not reveal any of this until you called asking for us to help you. It would be then that I show you the letter and give you the gift to understand better on why your father and her were mates."I looked at him. I was speechless. Henry spoke up instead, "Xavier, why would they ask you to hold onto something like this?"
Crossing paths with Thomas kind of irritated me. He wasn't supposed to be here until tomorrow and yet he's right here. I will have to remind myself to tell patrol to inform me when he's here from now on. "How long have you been here Thomas?" I asked him. "Not long I came across Henry with Josh and followed to see if any help was needed," was his answer. Hmm he was here when the attack hit. Interesting. "No help is needed Thomas. I think you should head back so you can get your people for tomorrow that will come to the ball. Thank you though for the offer." "Sounds like you're trying to get rid of me Mjnerva, is that what you're doing?" "No Thomas that's not my intention but I do have a metting at the office in town to attend." "Oh well, I can warm your bed until you're back then. That's if you want me to of course," he said eyeing Slate. "My bed is plenty warm Thomas. Have a good evening and I'll
It wasn't a soft landing when I fell through the book. I sat up quickly trying to gather what happened. Looking around it was a beautiful meadow with wild flowers lining the tree line. Not to far from me was a spring fed pond lined with rocks and a lone tree. I approached the tree when I see on the other side a bench with a woman sitting on it. I approached slowly on guard of who it could be. When I made it to the edge of the bench, slowly the woman turned towards me with a bright smile. "Minerva my dear child. How you have grown." "Mmm... mmm... mom?" I asked. "Yes my daughter. Come sit and lets talk about everything." I finished approaching her and sat down. She grabbed me hand and held it while smiling. I didn't know I was crying until I felt her wipe my cheeks. "I'm sorry my child. I wish I could have been with you everyday but unfortunately the prophecy wouldn't have it. I couldn't wait for this
Slate's POV-When Minerva woke up out of her unconscious state. I already had an idea of what she experienced as my mom did the same for me."How are you feeling?" I asked her."I'm okay. Just making sense of what just happened," she said to me weakly.Sitting beside her, I placed my arm around her as she cuddled against my side. "I never thought I would ever get to see my mom again and yet she was there, talking to me, telling me about the prophecy.""I know what you mean. My mom had done the same for me and it took me awhile to process it. I just hate we didn't come to you sooner so it wouldn't be so hard to process," I said squeezing her shoulders. She smiled at me and sat up. "Well we better get some sleep while we can. It's going to be a long day tomorrow."Smiling I moved around to the other
Slate's POV----I looked back down the stairs searching for the woman who smelled like cedar and honeysuckle."We have to keep our distance for awhile until we can get them alone to explain to them what is happening," Minerva whispered beside me.I glanced at her to see a smile plastered on her face but eyes searching for her mate. I took another look across the bottom floor when I caught the eye of a beautiful human. She had blonde hair and piercing green eyes. She had a simple lavender dress that hugged all of her curves just right. "Mate," said Erebus.I bumped Minerva and nodded towards the woman when she tightened her grip on my arm. I followed her eyes to the man standing beside my mate. Twins. He to had blonde hair and green eyes. Both human. Why would she pair us with humans? I wondered as we made it to the bottom floor. As some Alpha's here
"What now Slate?" I asked him as he drug me across the hall into a secluded corner."They're moving the girl and I sent the men to follow them to keep tabs the best we can.""We need to go Slate. This is sounding sketchy and we need to be the center of this to get that baby out of his hands.""I know Minerva, but you can't just leave this ball without a reason and we do not need to start a war tonight with so many Alphas that do not know the situation," he said with a sigh."You're right. But you know we are going to have to keep an eye out tonight. If he is moving her, then he must be getting ready for an attack.""I am not real sure about any of it, but if he was smart he would wait. I have the men following and I will keep the tabs Minerva, keep your focus on the ball and I will be in the background for the information. Plus we have to win over our mates."I let out a sigh and turned from Slate. "Well t
"Now that we are back and it seems that everyone is finished with dinner, lets move to the ballroom for the night of your lives." I said over the crowd. I watched as they got up to disperse out of the door moving across the hall. I stepped down and I noticed my mate hanging back. So I approched him. "How are you fairing this evening Jason?" I asked with a smile. He returned it making me swoon, "Okay I guess, Alpha Minerva. Being in a room full of werewolves I do not know is different." "I know what you mean for sure. Would you mind escorting me across the hall? The heels are a little wobbly for me." "Of course I can. Can I ask you something?" "Of course, you can ask me anything." "Are you my mate? I feel drawn to you in a weird way and I did not feel the pull with that one chick that tried saying she was." "I am glad you went ahead and brought that up. In fact, yes I am your mate
