Serena I'm still mulling over everything that has happened these last few days. My family was monsters; yes, I know how that sounds since I am also a mafia heir. However, I honestly thought they treated women better than men or at least respected them, but now I know how the men in my family really are. Dante seems to be more of a human, for a man nicknamed il Drago. Wearing jeans and a pretty pink blouse, I wait for Dario to come to fetch me and take me to the dinner Sienna has planned. I still don't know what to expect or how I'll be treated by the rest of the family. Dante Dragonetti, the man I've hated my entire teenage life, is trying to make amends with me, and so was his wife. However, I have no idea how to go about this. I don't trust or forgive easily, but I find that I am willing to try with them. Dario Dante gives me a wink as I join them at the table. Nico was already fussing over the food; God, I had forgotten how this man could eat, especially now since he’s regaining the strength in his muscles. He was starting to take a few steps by himself, but we don’t want him to overdo it just yet. The way things are panning out, Nico would probably walk again by the end of the year. I realized the other day during training with him that he has become even more vicious than before. I suppose if you keep a dog chained up and starving all day, eventually, when it’s let loose, it will devour any enemy in its path. Dante stands at the head of the table and raises a wine glass; we all follow suit except Serena. “To Dario and Serena, congratulations on your nuptials, Forgiato nel Fuoco, Forgiato nel sangue,” He says, and we men slam our fists to our chest. “Serena, Benvenuti in Famiglia, Piccola spia,(welcome to the family, my little spy)” We all chuckled at his ‘little spy’ comment. “B

Serena I watch as Dante picks Sienna up and can’t stop myself from giggling out loud. He seemed so carefree around her; I suppose that she was the only one able to break down his walls. I mean, you need a lot of guts to be able to get a hardened mafia boss to love you like this. I lay my head on Dario’s shoulder and sigh; I want what Sienna has with Dante, and I want it with Dario. “Don’t forget to come to my room tonight; we have something to discuss,” I say, not looking at his face for a reaction, but he kisses my hair, and I feel the smile on his lips. “I wouldn’t dream of being anywhere els-” “Dante?” My head whips up towards the sound of Sienna’s quiet voice and pale at the scene in front of me. Dario Where the fuck did they take my brother’s body?! I’ve looked all over the place, and so have the other soldiers, but all that remained of him was his blood on the hardwood floors. After grabbing Daniella from their bedroom, I inch my way towards the panic room again. As soon as I open the door, I see Sienna rushing toward me and taking her child from my arms. “Amore…” she whispers, holding Daniella close as if she would disappear at any second. Sylvana, Nico, and Serena walk toward me as Sienna walks away. “Where is Dante’s body?” Serena asks me in a hushed tone, and I frown at her question. She thumbs behind her. “There’s a surveillance station behind there that Sienna found. I searched all the rooms but couldn’t find him. Did someone take his body?” She explains. I look at Sienna, then at the group in front of me. “I looked all over the mansion but couldn’t find his body at all. We need to check the surveillance tapes to see what happened.” I say, then walk towards the mon

Mafia's Vice Part 1 Prologue - Dante Dragonetti
She’s late. Our first meeting and she was already 5 minutes late. If this didn’t signify the Vincenzo family’s slack way of dealing with the problem at hand, then I don’t know what did. I pick up my glass of bourbon and my eyes scan the restaurant; high end and extravagant, as to be expected. Politicians wooing investors, wealthy married couples on dates hoping to maintain public appearances; yes this was the perfect place to do a deal with the devil. When Aldo Vincenzo called me earlier in the week with suggestions of an accord, I must admit that I was surprised. New York and Chicago have long been at one another’s throats, but now we have a common enemy; The Russian Bratva was taking more and more of our territory, and we needed to bring an end to them. “I am so sorry for being late, Dante. We certainly were not prepared for New York traffic!” The whirlwind that was Sienna Vincenzo says and snaps me out of my thoughts as she takes a spot opposite me. I look at her with interest.
