Chapter - 3

Sam's p.o.v:

When I got into the house, I saw my brother on the couch, looking into his phone, and he started calling me names. Normally, I would yell at him, but this time I remained silent and didn't even try to look at him because I was too focused on the card in my hands.

I came to my room, placed the card on my bed and went to take a shower.

After I finished my shower, I sat on the bed. I felt something was missing. I looked around...

My card! Where is it! Damn!... It must be Sarah!

I shouted, "Mom! Sarah is taking my things again!"

I came out of the room by calling out to mom.

After some time Mom came to my room holding the card. She flicked the card over my face asking, "Next time, lock your room if you don't want anything to go missing. And, Is this for him?"

"No. Actually, I didn't buy this. It was from a Senior."

"Senior!?... Is this Senior Junior plot? I thought this was a hidden love storyline." she giggled.

"Mom!"

"Alright! Come down for lunch."

"I don't feel like eating, mom."

"Did you eat on campus again?"

I made puppy eyes, "Hmm..."

She smacked my head, "Don't eat out often. It's not good for your health. Take care of yourself too. Well then… Can I expect you for dinner?"

"Yeah."

She patted my head and left.

I closed the door behind and kept the card on the studying table.

Does Senior Calix like me? Ugh! What am I thinking? And this was only our second meeting after all! Did he mean it or was he kidding? He must be teasing me for sure!!!

Calix's POV;

"I meant it! I like her! I'm gonna court her! You can't stop me!"

"Do you think she will like you back?" Ace asked back at me.

"If anyone would, it's her," I said with a smile as I turned to look out the window, watching everyone run down the street and play outside.

"What makes you so sure that she feels that way about you?" he asked again, this time not smiling.

"She does," I confirmed. "Trust me. And, stop asking and help me with this?"

"I'm already assisting you by keeping her away from the other boys in the class. I have to... you are my brother, after all." And he exited my room with those words.

Even though he is assisting me, he constantly questions my feelings for Sam. I wonder why.

It was during the freshman ceremony when I saw Sam for the first time in my brother's class during the registration process. While I was taking freshmen names for the basketball club. Girls were fighting in the back, which drew my attention to them. 'Keep it low,' I was about to say, but I didn't. Because I noticed her. Her classmates were making fun of her with her glasses I think. It seems like she was trying to protect it from them.

When one of her friends took off her glasses, I could see her eyes were the colour of the sky. A dark purple in colour, almost a dark green. But it wasn’t just that. Her irises were like the night sky, or something more poetic. Her hair was black and wavy, falling in waves from either side of her face that made me feel drawn to them. I had no idea why until later on, but I would look at her and she would make my heart beat faster, like nothing else mattered. I think that's where I fell for her. After that, I got to know her through my brother.

On the basketball team, five players will play on the court. The remaining will sit in the stand. Two people hold Power forward and Small Forward positions and one as a Shooting guard and one taking the Center while other was taking Point guard. I play the centre position in my college team.

Throughout the game, I looked for her, hoping to spot her in the crowd. When I found her, she was dressed cutely in a pink hoodie. While watching her, I was hit in the head by a ball. I looked forward to every practice after seeing her on the court. I tried several times to make the first move but failed because she was always with her friends.

After I'm done with my work, I tried to leave but saw her in the library. Seems like she was looking for a book. When I attempted to speak with her, I noticed she was with a friend once more. I let go and walked towards the exit.

While I was walking to the door, I heard someone calling me by the name which I hate. When I turned around, it was Sam. She was laughing with her friend. I let it go because it was her. I could use this as an opportunity to tease her. And when I did, she looked so cute when she's blushing. I wish I could just stare at that all day.

I couldn't help but look at her again in the court that evening, and I waved to her. But her eyes were fixed on someone else beside me. William. Was she a fan of William's as well? Why didn't Ace tell me about it?

After college ended, I saw her entering the gift store so I followed her inside. She was looking through the things on the shelves and stopped in front of the greeting cards section. Looks like she's interested in greeting cards. Who's she buying it for?

I forcefully took the card which she was holding in her hands and read out the quote aloud. The quote was written specifically for us. I couldn't hide my feelings towards her so I bought it and gave it to her without thinking about it.

I let out a sigh and looked at the ceiling thinking about what will she reply to me.
