Time To Hunt Some Souls!

PLAK!

A loud sound of someone being slapped rang through the huge mansion.

Carissa’s head snapped to the side as blood trickled down her mouth after receiving a solid slap on her face.

She bit the inside of her cheek before looking up at the person who slapped her.

“Insolent!”

“How dare you look at me like that?”

“How dare you bring those ‘ghosts’ to mess with us?!”

PLAK!

Carissa clenched her fist tightly when she received another slap on her face.

If she wasn’t tied up, she would have surely landed a punch or two to this blood-sucking fellow.

Tisiphone who had gained consciousness watched from the side with smugness on her face.

‘Hah! You’re dead today!’

The corner of Carissa’s mouth curled up. She glanced at Tisiphone with a tiny glint in her eyes.

Even though Tisiphone had gained consciousness, she may not know that Carissa had succeeded in breaking through her mind and planted a seed inside it.

That ‘seed’ would slowly grow until Tisiphone became a loyal servant to Carissa.

If Tisiphone wanted to remove the seed, she could try begging Carissa to let her go, which is not an option. Another way is to open her skull and pull the seed that had planted its roots in her brain.

Of course, with the condition that they had to pull all the roots without touching her vital nerves. Otherwise, Tisiphone would die.

“Heh...” Carissa let out a small mocking laugh.

She glanced up at the person in front of her who was giving her a death glare.

“You’re just a disgusting creature who needs to drink human blood. You don’t have the authority to make me answer you!”

Aischylos Bion gritted his teeth and raised his fist, ready to punch Carissa’s face when all of a sudden his whole body stiffened and he froze.

A flash of light appeared in his eyes.

A few seconds later, he came back to his senses and looked condescendingly at Carissa before waving his hand to his men.

“Take her back with us!” he ordered before he stepped out of the Tane’s mansion.

He looked at the burned houses of Tane’s clan and inwardly smirked.

‘Heh! One down, four to go!’

“Get your hands off me, you bastards! Where are you taking me?!”

Aischylos glanced at the struggling Carissa and his smug mood immediately vanished.

He wanted to teach this ‘ghost’ a lesson but his master won’t allow it.

He took a deep breath before he disappeared into the darkness of night along with the rest of his soldiers.

‘Forget it. Anyway, I was the first one to capture one of the ghosts. Master would surely give me a big reward tonight.’

***

Carissa opened her eyes and shivered when the cold wind blew over.

She sat up with difficulty considering her hand was still tied up behind her.

She looked around and found herself sitting with her back on a tree at the edge of a snowy mountain with dark forests behind her.

She noticed a few of the vampire soldiers walking around, patrolling and some were guarding the camp built in the middle of the field.

‘Hm. It must be that red-faced leader. Carissa’s mouth curled up a bit.

She had noticed that every time Aischylos temper rose, his pale face would go red.

What an interesting sight.

Her eyes scanned her surroundings once more and made sure that no one was paying her attention before activating her fire skill to burn the ropes on her wrists.

In seconds, the ropes turned to ashes the moment they came into contact with Carissa’s fire which is heated several degrees higher than normal fire.

Without wasting time, she dove back into the snow mountain forest behind her with lightning speed.

She stopped by a large tree trunk that grew higher than the other trees around it and contemplated for a second.

Should she run away home or should she take this chance to eliminate those vampires?

She can eliminate those low-level vampires but that Aischylos is a pain in the ass.

Carissa touched her left arm and could still feel the pain when he restrained her a few hours before.

Luckily, the hunter’s body could heal by itself. Otherwise, she would have been crippled by now.

Clenching her fist, her eyes flashed with determination before she leapt into the air and climbed to the top of the tree by stepping on the branch nearby.

Her steps were extremely light. It was as if she was bouncing on a bouncing field.

Carissa huffed when she reached the top and sat on it with one of her legs dangling in the air and the other lying leisurely on the tree branch.

She chose a perfect position to rest for a while as well as to spy on the vampires. There was at least 2 kilometres distance between them.

However, Carissa had no problem studying them in the dark because hunters, werewolves and vampires have night vision.

Crossing her arms, Carissa let out a yawn before closing her eyes.

Not even half an hour after that, Carissa was woken up by footsteps and voices.

“We’ve searched everywhere but we couldn’t find her!”

“Try searching the cave...”

“Go back to Tane’s family...”

“Stupid! There are so many of you! How come no one sees her running away?!”

Carissa’s lips twitched when she heard the last voice.

It was definitely Aischylos.

“I want you to find her now! I don’t care if you turn the earth around, you must find her!”

Carissa waited for a few more minutes, waiting for that bossy commander to go back to his camps before she made her move.

She climbed down as silent as the night as she focused her senses on her surroundings.

She heard two pairs of footsteps on her left and one on her right.

Smiling, her eyes flashed with an eerie excitement.

Time to hunt some souls!

She moved towards her right and watched as the vampire scanned his surroundings with his back to her.

Carissa moved from the trees by stepping on the branch.

At the same time, the rain pours down adding a glee to Carissa’s excitement.

She flicked her fingers and watched as the vampire touched his neck before he fell.
