Leroy Percival

Heidrich saw that the werewolves did not give him any response and sneered, “Fine, then. You should be prepared for your doom!”

Then, he led the vampires back to a safe place to avoid the sun and asked his men to carry the still-unconscious Aischylos.

After the vampires left, Carissa who was in the back, silently retreated into the dark forest. She needed to escape.

However, her hope was crushed when she stepped on a branch and made all the werewolves turn towards her.

“My friends, it was nice meeting you for the first time. I have something important to do. We’ll meet again if we have the chance in the future. Bye!”

Then, she sprints into the woods at a fast speed. However, half of her speed was restrained by the net wrapping around her body.

She had sprinted forward for five minutes, but she didn’t hear any sound of the werewolves chasing her at all.

Did that mean they let her go?

With this thought, Carissa slowed down her pace. Soon, she saw the exit of the forest and a bright light outside. She sighed in relief.

She was about to step on the bright light outside the forest when she sensed a presence a few meters away from her. She went into an alert mode and scanned her surroundings.

It didn’t take her long to notice the familiar figure leaning leisurely on the tree with his arms crossed across his chest.

Her heart ran erratically inside her chest. This man was not an ordinary person. It took almost an hour to get out from the forest and from the looks of it, the man didn’t take long and he was not out of breath either.

Carissa pouted. Of course, crossing the forest was not a big deal for him. After all, he used to live in the woods.

Carissa calmed down and sorted her thoughts before approaching him. She didn’t get a clear look at the man when they were still inside the forest just now.

He had short dark hair, a sharp eyebrow and jaw-piercing eyes. His body was well-proportioned and Carissa could tell that he trained a lot.

She had seen a few men who had good looks back at her kingdom. But, she hasn’t seen anyone as attractive as him.

Carissa slapped her head mentally at the thought. How could she be distracted right now? He is a potential enemy.

“What do you want?” Carissa stopped a few meters away from him and asked.

The man glanced at her with a cold look before looking away and asked, “You killed the entire Tane clan?”

She raised her eyebrows at this. So, he was interested in this. A scheming look appeared on her face.

“Yes. Are you surprised?” Carissa lifted her foot and it looked like she was trying to relieve her tired legs but the man knew better.

She was showing him the sickle held by the gear of her boot.

However, he didn’t feel threatened at all. Carissa is trapped inside the net and she can’t use her power.

If she wanted to fight, she could only use her physical power.

“I don’t believe you.” the man sneered.

He was thinking that Carissa was a good woman just a few moments ago but seeing her now made him change his mind.

Why did he bother to chase her all the way here? He should have asked his subordinates to chase after her.

He grumbled in his heart as his eyes turned cold.

Carissa was surprised for a moment, “Why? You don’t believe I can do it?”

The man shot her a cold look and said, “If I wanted to, you’d already die twice in my hands today.”

He was talking about how he caught her trying to escape and the second is that his speed was much faster than hers.

Hearing this, Carissa frowned with a dissatisfied look on her face, “Humph! You can do it because I’m restricted in the net. If not, you’re the one dying in my hands!”

She felt it wasn’t enough and added, “If you want to try, you could help me get rid of this net first!”

The man curled his lips in disdain, “Don’t try to trick me. You should stay on the net. I could use you as bait to catch food later.”

He was speaking as if the food he was talking about was a beast. He was just trying to scare her.

Carissa’s face turned red in anger as she stomped her foot, “You dare! I killed the clan of Tane’s. Try to provoke me again and I will...I will...”

The man knows that he got the upper hand and asked smugly, “You will...?”

Carissa knew she couldn’t do anything to him for she was still trapped inside the net, “Humph!” she could only glare at him with her fingers clenched.

A moment of silence enveloped them.

“How many did you kill?” he asked all of a sudden.

“All but the Tane's family members,” Carissa answered with a grievance in her heart.

She couldn’t believe that the man wouldn’t ridicule her for this.

Sure enough.

“I know you aren’t that capable.” he curled his lips in disdain.

Carissa shot him a furious look before she sneered, “You aren’t that capable either.”

The man’s face darkened when he heard this, “What did you say?”

Carissa shivered when she saw his murderous look and looked away before muttering, “You only know how to bully me. I’m trapped inside the net and you wanted to use me as bait for food...”

The man’s face twitched when he heard this. He just wanted to scare her and she believes it?

This woman who killed a lot of the Tane clan was afraid of being used as bait.

Interesting.

“What’s your name?” he asked.

Rara grumbled but still replied obediently, “Carissa. Carissa Vasileiou. Yours?”

The man was startled at how her name sounded so good in his ear. He mentally slapped his head when he realised his reaction.

“Leroy. Leroy Percival.”
