Mariana raised her head slowly looking around the room, her head hurt badly so was most of her body. Her eyes couldn't open properly but at least she could see something a little clearly.
The room was white with blood splashed awkwardly on every wall making her heart beat increase randomly. She wasn't born yesterday or joined this life style yesterday.
She was in the death room, the three red tool boxes in the corner made a sweat break out on her forehead. Panic was getting to her, her pulse high and her thoughts fuzzy like she was high on cocaine.
She had to get out of here but how, noticing the tight ropes; her whole body froze. She was tied on a chair for fuck's sake she was damn tied on a chair.
Her legs and chest too, the adrenaline pushing her to the edge.Positioning her legs and holding her ground she tried to stand up in a weird way, good enough it was a wooden chair making easy way for her plans.
"Seriously Mariana, I think I underestimated you so much " Mariana froze, her heart thumping so uncomfortably in her chest.
She slowly positioned the chair back in a sitting position, she hadn't heard the door being opened where as Marco stood there leaning by the wallHis white shirt untucked and the sleeves rolled to his elbows, his looks stood out more.
She kept her eyes on him trying to gulp the lump in her throat that didn't want to move, "I won't deny you actually fooled me with all the innocent act, am not so sure, may be you can talk too right ?"Every single word that came out of his lips was laced with bitterness that kept hitting a sudden spot on her heart, it kind of hurt but then it felt like it wasn't there at all.
Marco pushed away from the wall, his eyes cold and his lip in a thin line. She could feel the sparks of his anger radiating from him to where she sat but then he was taking hard short painfully steps towards her, she wondered what exactly he was going to do to her.
Was he going to kill her, of course he is a Di Martino ' they got no hearts or a conscious '.
Marco squat in front of her grabbing her chin roughly so that her eyes were in line with his making her breath hitch in her throat, they had never been this close and it was making her feel in a way she had never felt before.
"Mariana am a very easy going person" he whispered his hold on her chin tightening roughly making her wince while her eyes fell close. "But I hate lies, betray and deceit am no fool "
His voice felt like a bullet, if her heart could accelerate more faster then it just did while a shiver rushed down her spine, her eyes flew open and she looked up at him wanting to say something.
Maybe her words would save her and good enough he noticed " Arthur get me a note book and a pen " he called out.
"Yes sir "
Marco sighed and stood up walking back to the wall and leaning against it, her eyes locked with hid and non of them seemed to want to look away.
The silence was comfortable as there souls seemed to have connected, she wanted to look away but there was force around him that wouldn't let her.
"Boss" Arthur spoke up,they both pulled away in surprise and shock of being caught, looking somewhere else as the blonde guy walked into the room.
"Give them to her and untie her hands " Arthur placed the note book on her lap before walking behind and untying her wrist.
A sigh of relief escaped her lips, her eyes scanning her reddened wrist before looking down at the note book then up at Marco. This may be her only chance to save herself, she grabbed the pen her thoughts moving back to the golden pen he had given her that she left in the room which he had also given to her.
To be sincere he hadn't treated her badly or do anything that scared her off maybe if she didn't do this everything would still be as it was good enough he still couldn't seem to realise that she was Valente Russo's wife.
' Am sorry.
Your Marco Di Martino and I was afraid you are going to kill me '
"Why would I kill you? " He whispered and she looked down at the book , now she felt silly. She couldn't even talk and this was making her teary, it hurt that she had to lie in order to save her self.
' cause am a sharp shooter, more like an assassin but I mean no trouble.
You helped me and gave me a place to live I don't plan on going against you 'Marco stood still before his lips twirled up in to a smirk, she looked up at him and her eyes widened immediately. What the hell was going on in his mind.
"Work for me " He replied and now she fainted
"Davin, untie her " Marco ordered his man who had also walked into the room with a bandaged shoulder, "But boss she.. ""Are you questioning me Davin ?""No boss ""Then good " with that Marco strode out of the room not even bothering to look back.Mariana felt her self sigh out of relief, after all Marco Di Martino wasn't going to kill her anymore and for the job she had been denied those skills since she was sixteen how was she going to pull that off.A loud growl pulled her out of her thoughts, she looked up at Davin.A man who was well built and big enough to scare all the day lights out of her, he had black messy hair and green - grey eyes that held nothing but coldness whilst his red plump lips. The men here knew exactly what they call beauty without a try, Mariana couldn't help but notice the angry scowl on his face.Mariana smiled not so surely hoping he would let go of that anger, she never meant to shoot him
Mariana sat by the window silently staring outside, the rain kept hitting on the glass it's rhythm soothing to her ears.Beryl had covered her thoughts, all she could see was daughter.Stephanie had come up a while ago asking her to come down and have dinner with them but she seemed to had lost all her appetite within a snap.Mariana had unknowingly gone back to pushing herself away from people without realising it, Her thoughts, her past and her pain had become the centre of her world once more.Marco walked in to her room and she didn't even notice, he leaned by the door and stared at her. His thoughts moved back to the first day he had walked into this room after she had arrived, the way she had pushed him away still hurt a bit.A lone tear escaped down her cheeks but there was no way she would notice, there was no day or night her eyes weren't empty even when she was trying to run away.Yet they were the best beautiful thing he had ever
Davin was walking by Mariana's room towards the basement but suddenly he came to a stop, curiosity enticing his nerves. He seriously hated this girl with so much passion yet found himself wanting to see what she really was up to.He looked inside, more careful so he won't be noticed only to find the room empty, even the bed where she should be at this time.Turning his direction he walked in to her room slowly, the only window in here was closed so she certainly hadn't escaped but where was she if not in here at 2: 47 in the morning.Prying his eyes away from his wrist watch and looking around once more the light from the bathroom caught his attention "Mariana " he called out but he still got only silence.Pushing the bathroom door open slowly, he froze his eyes wide as he stared at the girl on the floor. He moved towards her kneeling besides her, he didn't care if she was laying in a pool of her own
Within the midst of darkness, a forge she wanted to escape so badly. Her feet scrapped against the rough floor with each step tookHard and faster, her breathing hallowTears sprinted from her eyes as she came to a sudden halt. " Beryl " She called out loud but got no specific reply, turning around in circles she called
Marco stared at Mariana as she silently pulled herself into a sitting position, she had been transferred out of the ICU where she had been in Coma for one week and two days. Her dark soft brown hair fell in deep waves over her shoulders, her blue liquid eyes holding a light shade of grey and her fairly pink lips in a thin line. This was the first time he was looking at her like the woman she his really not some one he helped. For the first time Marco felt the urge to claim some one so badly, only staring at her right now had caused his heart to slam against his chest crazily than he ever felt it before. She looked up at him his gold - honey eyes meeting hers making her want to lower her eyes in shame as her cheeks became red."Hey " he whispered his voice deep, she could swear she felt it's vibration all over her body. Looking up at him again due to the softness she felt in his voice, some thing was beautifully wrong.
Looking away from Marco, she felt her heart sink and tears cloud her visions. Closing her eyes she dropped her hands off his body causing him to notice her distaste. He was a player, she had seen him bang a lady on his front desk and lastly a Di Martino they got no hearts.Marco watched as she looked back at him, he hadn't shifted a bit from his position so they were still close. Her eyes portrayed pain and held tears " Mariana " he whispered now this is what he was so afraid of, her reaction was starting to make him regret kissing her yet it was something he didn't want to forget or feel guilty about. The door creaked making him pull away from her in a rush, staring at the doctor who smiled there way."Well Marco all I can tell you is that she can go home now and needs more rest don't stress her out, oh and about what you asked me; she can definitely talk whenever she wants "This ticked off Mariana, her hands balled in to fist. H
Standing by the elevator, Mariana closed her eyes for a minute remembering her Father's words.' always take your ears as your number one weapon, they can do more than what your eyes can ever do " She silently listened attentively, her breathing rugged. Silent cries and sobs but then something else caught her attention. She could hear the safety being changed, pointing out the gun in the direction. She remembered the man she saw earlier, his position and height then raised her gun in that direction and shot. She hid back as a loud groan was heard all over the room, grabbing Marco's arm she started pulling him towards down the hall as the lights came back on making them both freeze.
Mariana stared at the Mansion in front of her as she got out of the car, the large compound full of trees sculpted into different shapes beautifully. She closed the door of the car behind her, moving around lightly taking in the beautiful fresh air. The mansion painted brown gold colours bigger than anything she had ever seen. She looked at the double doors then knew this was it, how was she going to manage to leave with Di Martino brothers after all that happened a while ago and all the secrets she held in.They were going to know who she really was and then kill her, a shiver rushed down her spine while her palms started to sweat making her wipe them multiple times on her dress. There's one thing she was so sure about, she really needs to find a way out of here."You okay ?" Marco's voice broke through her train of thoughts, she looked his way nodding lightly. He held out his hand to hold her chin b
