Chapter 2: School

Katerina's pov

     After the ordeal outside I am late for my first period class, English. Mr. Reider is not very happy though I am only two minutes late he glares at me as I walk in.

    "Nice of you to decide to come to class. You'll have extra homework tonight." He sneers at me. " You're lucky I don't just send you to the principles office."

     Jess walks into class five minutes late and he doesn't say a word to her. He just looks up and smiles then turns back to me.

   "Now go take your seat and open your book" He snaps. 

      I quickly scurry to my seat. "Now class open your books to page 346 and start reading there"

     Its now half way through the day and its lunch time. This is my favorite time because Angelica and I grab our lunch and Go and sit secluded from everyone by the tree line.

   "Why do you put up with it, you're almost 18 and you'll be getting your wolf soon, so why put up with the bullying and abuse?" Angelica questions when we sit down behind a tree to eat our lunch. She already turned 18 a couple months ago and hasn't met her mate yet.

  "When I turn 18 I think I'm going to leave. I do not want to be a rouge but I'm tired of the abuse and being blamed for my parents death."

  "When you turn 18 come live with me and my parents." Angelica suggested. Shes so nice to me but I don't think I'll be able to do that.

  "I don't think the alpha will allow that. I think that it won't stop until I leave the territory."

     Just then I hear a twig snap. I turn around to see Jayce. He stands 6'2 with broad shoulder and short curly black hair. His ember eyes glaring at me. "Looks like i found your little hiding spot. Hear that guys the little orphan thinks that she's gonna go rouge after she turns 18."

     Next thing I know Ryder, Jess, and Jayce's girlfriend hannah appear behind them. Like Jess, Hannah has a fake spray tan too much makeup, she has grass green eyes and light brown hair cut into a bob. I sit silently staring down at my hands, since I'm not allowed to look at them. 

   "Do you honestly believe my father would allow you to do that? You have yet to pay for the death of your parents." Ryders voice is cold when he speaks.

     Then hannah picks up my tray of food and throws it over my head. "What a stupid slave." Her voice is almost as squeaky as Jess's.

    "You'll be lucky is mom and dad even let you back out of the pack house after they find this out." Ryder says as he kicks me to the ground.

   "Mom only allows you to go to school so you won't be so stupid but you're a senior and still as dumb as a box of rocks." Everyone laughs.

  "Leave her alone!" Angelica growls.

  "Stop its fine." I plead sitting back up.

   "What the f**k did you just say mutt" Jess stalks towards her. Jess isn't 18 yet so she doesn't have her wolf but if Angelica hurts her I know she will be killed because Jess is suppose to be the next Luna. Alpha Carter and Luna Jocelyn say that they just know that Jess is going to be Ryders destined mate so they treat her as a future Luna. 

 "Angelica just stop. Lunch is almost over just run to class, please." I plead again. This time she listens grabs her tray and head off towards the school.

  "You'll pay later for talking to us like that." Jess hollers at her as Angelica heads towards the school. Then they all turn their attention back to me.

   I am still looking at my hands and I can feel their eyes on me. I'm going to be late for gym class which mean they'll make me run 15 extra laps. Just then I get kick back over, hard. I didn't see who did it. Next, I get kicked in the ribs by Jayce and I feel a couple snap. And then another kick in the stomach this time by Jess and I cough up blood.

   I hear Ryder laugh  "Now thats just the beginning of whats coming to you. Conspiring to leave and betray your loyalty to this pack and your alpha, dad will not be pleased with you."

   They finally walk off back towards the school. I don't have time to nurse my wounds if I'm already five minutes late by the time I get to the gym I'll be about seven minutes late.

   When I get to gym everyone is ready running their 10 laps. I'd say with the time they're probably about 3 laps in. I look over to see Mr. Rogan glaring at me. "I hear you've been tarty all day. You know the drill 15 laps added to the original 10. Finish then before the last person finishes their 10 or else you'll be sent to the principles office." 

  I start running as fast as I can and get about 10 laps in by the time they hit their 7th lap. I go to make it around the 15th lap when I get tripped by hannah. I don't think I'm going to finish and he's going to make me go see the principle. Our principal here was really good friend with my parents and after my parents died he felt sympathy towards me, but then alpha lied to him and told him it was all my fault so now he is cruel to me. I start running as fast as I could I felt like my lungs was going to explode and just before the last person finishes their last lap I finish mine. I fall to the ground feeling like I'm dying.

  "You got very lucky there. I'm honestly still thinking about sending you to the principles. But today ill just let the alpha handle you I have already informed him that today you keep showing up late for class." Mr. Rogan says with a smirk on his face.

    Its almost the end of the day and I'm dreading going home I do not look forward to the beating that I know is coming. When I walk out of the school to head home something hits me in the back of the head. I reached up and touched the back of my head and there was blood. I turned around to look and there's Ryder and his 3 goons. It appears that they threw a rock. I can feel the blood trickling down my back.

   "I told you that you're gonna pay for taking to Jess like that" Ryder yelled.

    Next thing I know Jess shoves me to the ground and kicks me in my already broke rib and hannah kicks me in the other side this continues for what feels like eternity then they finally stop. They all walk away laughing and I find myself having to lay there for a minute.

    I get up and start my slow walk home, praying to the moon goddess the whole way to take me away from here on my birthday. I pray that she gives gives me a strong wolf one that will protect me and a mate that will save me. I am almost home and I can feel the anger coming off the alpha before I even walk through the door. I know this isn't going to be good for me.
