Gatorade

I woke up with the sunlight resting on my face. A pair of large arms was wrapped around my waist.

It was very comforting and secure. I couldn't even remember when I fell asleep last night.

Luke continued his riddles and I.... Wait, Luke? I tried to stand up but I was held back by his arms.

I turned, still in his embrace, to look at him.

He was sleeping peacefully and his brown hair covered his forehead.

His lips suddenly curved into a smile.

"Enjoy it while it lasts." His brown eyes peeled into mine. "I know I'm hard to resist but you've been staring at me for a while." I scoffed at him as I pulled up.

"I'm gonna go take a shower." I told him.

"Lock the door when you leave."

"I'm not leaving, we're going to school together."

He walked into the kitchen and I walked after him.

"Aren't you gonna change your clothes?"

"It's in my RV."

He handed me a bottle of water. "That van is a RV?"

"Yeah,I thought you knew everything about me?"

"I'm surprised." I thought aloud.

"What?" He said as he searched through my cabinet and brought out a box of cereal.

"We were together through the night and you didn't try anything on me."

I told him, giving him the milk.

"What do you people think of me?" He sighed.

"Hmm.. A player?"

I walked upstairs as he yelled. "Theresa!"

I walked into the shower as the warm liquid splattered on my body. I thought about Julian and then Luke.

He raised my mood yesterday. I totally forgot about my sorrow. Maybe he's not such a bad guy after all.

Wait, what am I even saying? I've only known this guy for two days.

I wrapped myself in a white cotton robe and walked out of the shower.

I found Luke lying lazily on my bed.

"I don't remember telling you to come in."

"I never asked."

He walked into the shower with a pair of shorts and a T-shirt. I took that as a cue to dry myself and dress up.

I wore a grey sweatshirt with white leggings. I slipped on my grey sneakers.

He walked out of the shower half naked, slipped on his black trousers and wore his converse.

"Ready?"  I asked, putting my hair in the usual high ponytail. "Yeah."

We walked downstairs and I grabbed a chocolate bar from the counter.

"Are we going to school together or what?" He asked as I locked the front door and kept the key under the mat as usual.

"I'm fine with anything."

"Let's take your car and after school,I'll come back for mine."

We walked to the car silently. I sat in the driver's seat and he sat in the passenger seat.

"I thought you were gonna be a gentleman and offer to drive." I ignited the engine.

"Well I ain't no gentleman, Theresa." He said cockily.

"Cut it out with the name!" I swatted him on the shoulder.

"Okay." He raised his arms in surrender."Should we play riddles again?"

"Hell no," I took a right turn.

"You're boring," he flipped on the the radio and One Direction's You and I came on.

You and I

We don't wanna be like them

We can make till the end

Nothing can come between You and I

Not even the gods above

Can separate the two of us

I hummed softly along and he looked over at me.

"Big fan,huh?"

"No, just one of them."

I pulled over into the parking lot.

"Who's this unlucky guy?"

"One, he's not unlucky. Two, it's Harry."

We walked towards my locker.

"Harry Styles?"

"No," I rolled my eyes at him. "Harry Potter."

"Haha, really funny." He said as I slammed my locker shut.

I turned on my heels and coffee spilled on my shirt.

Way to start Friday morning.

"Watch the hell where you're going." The voice barked.

I raised my head to the sassiest guy on Earth.

Johnson.

This guy was worse than Luke. He was ugly, rude and reeked of alcohol everyday.

"Excuse me?" My blood was boiling.

"Let's just go Theresa."

I started walking with Luke when I heard him mumble,"Bitch."

I spun on my heels and grabbed a bottle of Gatorade from a random kid and poured it on his head.

It made way down to his white shirt.

"Never call a woman a bitch or she might just act like one," I whispered into his ear.

Luke started pulling me to class and I waved at him.

"Bye handsome!"

~~

"And then Johnson looked like a Smurf puked on him." Luke recounted to Scott and Ivy.

"You actually stood up to Johnson? I can't believe this." Ivy squealed.

"My little girl's all grown up," Scott wiped a fake tear from his eye and Ivy comforted him.

"Asses," I chuckled.

"So y'all ready for the party tomorrow?"

Lucas plopped down next to Luke on the bench.

They all nodded and I squirmed in my seat.

"I'm not."

"Come on, you're going with Luke. You should be pumped!" Lucas popped a fry into his mouth.

"Sorry to disappoint you but I'm not."

"Don't worry, he uses protection."

I felt my face flustered and I smacked the back of his head.

I perceived a usual but frustrating cologne behind me and I sighed. "Please tell me she's not here.''

"Sorry to disappoint you beautiful but she is."

I turned on my seat and smiled at Alessia.

"What's up, baby girl?"

"Last time I checked, we're not even friends." She spat.

"Ooh feisty." Lucas chimed in as he kept eating.

"You did a great job hiding that bruise behind a concealer.  You're really good with make up."

"Thanks, unlike someone who doesn't put on any." She moved over to Luke.

"Babe,I'm natural." I replied and she scoffed.

"I wasn't even here for you in the first place."

We all shifted our gaze towards Luke.

"Hey Luke," she toyed with his shirt, "wanna take me to Lucas's party tommorow?"

"Nope,I'm taking Theresa," he pointed at me.

"You're taking her?"

She pronounced the 'her' like it was a deadly and venomous thing. I couldn't blame her though. I am deadly.

"I'm not poison, you didn't have to pronounce it like that."

She turned on her heels and walked away.

"The party's from 12 to 12." Lucas said getting up. "At Evans Resort."

My eyes lit up." Dude, you booked that place?"

"Yeah, my mom wouldn't let me throw a beach party while she's around. She doesn't wanna see people of her son's age in the house half naked."

"I understand her."

"You have to go to therapy," Ivy nudged me on the shoulder.

"No," I whined.

"Stop being difficult,Tess."

"Okay! I'll go! But I feel like you guys are hiding something from me."

I raised an eyebrow at them   and they reacted awkwardly.

I attended therapy for two months and I learnt to control my anger.

My friends were extremely proud of themselves and I was too.

They tried to change my life for better.

Even though I stuck out like a sore thumb.

They were willing to go through anything if it's for me.

"So, you're going to the mall tommorow?" Ivy asked tapping on her phone.

"No." I said bluntly.

"Why?" She sat up.

"One, tomorrow's Saturday. Two,I have enough clothes in my closet."

"You know, Saturdays are beginning to scare me in this house." She said as she walked out.

I sighed.

Saturday is a special day. It's a day when I play One Direction's songs and clean the house. The entire house. Even the cars.

Four vehicles stood unused in my garage. A 2014 Audi Dallas, a Ferrari, a Mercedes and a moving truck.

They were covered in tarpaulin since I never used them. I prefer the black Hyundai which I drive to school.

I never felt the need to show off my wealth. One thing always amused me whenever I saw Alessia.

Her father worked in my father's company and the bitch always tried to piss me off by saying she had a comfortable life than I.

People at school never really knew me except for Ivy, Scott and regretfully, Luke.

My house was huge. Even I feel intimidated sometimes when I looked at it from outside.

Huge and empty.

What use is it living in a mansion all by yourself with no one to love you.

It's like eating pizza without a topping.

Yeah, it's weird how I always compare everything to food.

I'm not that of a glutton. Leave that to Scott and Ivy.

The gluttonous ones of our time.

I sauntered into the kitchen and grabbed a granola bar.
