After our unsuccessful attempt to teach Jesse a lesson, I didn't forecast another revenge plan looming on the horizon. It was going to have to wait. Or maybe we won't do it after all.
I ignored Claire at first because I wanted her to feel guilty of what she did yesterday. But even I couldn't be mad at her for too long and eventually I forgave her the second she mentioned that she was going to pay for my lunch for a month.
"What about Jesse?" I asked Claire. We were by our lockers, retrieving our books for our first class. I had Physics while she had English.
"What about him?"
"Don't you want to punish him for using and then dumping you?"
"Um...I don't really think we should do that. Not after what happened yesterday. I'm over him. And I want to avoid him as much as possible. That's best for both of us," She said with a small smile in the end.
"Uh, okay," I was a little disappointed. But that was exactly what I was expecting. She was not the bad ass type.
"Hey, do you know that Brian is not in school today."
"I didn't know. What about him?"
"Don't you see! Your plan worked. He must be in his bed nursing his bruises."
"But I feel so guilty of doing that to him! Even though he is such a jerk."
"It's okay. He'll be alright."
I nodded, "I better go. Bye."
"Yeah, bye," she replied and then I walked towards class.

"Hey, did you hear that Brian was attacked by two girls yesterday? One of them threw blue paint on him and then started hitting the crap out of him?" Josh asked us.
I choked on my water and Claire stared at me. We were in the cafeteria. Apparently, the whole school knew about it. Darren, Josh and Tyler were laughing at this. How mean. Should I do that to them too? That way they'll know how it felt to be in Brian's place.
"Um...no," I said. I looked at Claire and she had her eyes on the food in front of her. She was biting her lower lip, controlling herself from laughing along with them.
I felt more guilty because of it. He didn't deserve it. I was stupid. I should have checked who it was. It was not Jesse. His asshole-ish behavior was totally justified. I would be angry too if I get attacked like that.
Darren, Josh and Tyler went on gossiping about some other stuff and I went back to my food.
~
Two days after our prank gone wrong, Brian still hadn't returned to school. I wondered if I hit him that hard. If that was it, then I would definitely not try it again. Of course, I could make exceptions to abominable people like Jesse Winters.
I was in the locker room, retrieving my Chemistry books. Claire was with me. She was talking about Darren's party and she had finally said that she herself wanted to go and not because I told her to.
I was checking if I had left something undone in my Chemistry homework when an angry fist banged my locker door shut. I jumped a little at that.
I looked up and there he was, the wrong victim, Brian. He was glaring at me. Behind him was Jake. He was smirking at me which turned into a charming smile when he eyed Claire. When Claire saw him, he winked at her and she blushed. Ugh! Teens and their freaking hormones.
"What are you doing? Get your hands off of my locker," I spoke calmly, diverting my attention to Brian. He was looking like he was going to burst any second.
He didn't reply but banged my locker again.
"Hey! Didn't you hear me? Go break your own locker, not mine."
"Why. Did. You. Do. That. To. Me?!" He shouted.
I sighed, "Please don't create a scene. I am telling you for the hundredth time that I didn't want to do that to you."
"Oh, yeah?"
"Bri-" Claire started speaking but I cut her off.
"Look, Brian. I wanted to do that to somebody else, not you. My plan failed. I accept it was my mistake and I am apologizing to you again. I'm sorry. But you are over reacting now," With that I walked away with Claire before he could say anything.
Claire tried saying something but I quickly told her that I had to go to class. She nodded.
I entered the class. Chemistry. My favorite subject.
I took a seat beside the window, a few seats behind. The class began.
Ten minutes into the class, the teacher was explaining a reaction to us when the door swung open and Brian walked in.
"Brian, why are you late?" The teacher asked him. "You've never been late."
"I couldn't find my books, sorry," Brian looked around to find a seat. Unfortunately, a seat was empty in front me.
Please, don't see me. Please, don't see me. Please, don't see me! Please-But he saw me. He smirked, walking towards me and sat on the seat in front of me.
The class progressed. And Brian was...annoying me.
He sat there, towering before me and I couldn't see the teacher.
"Brian," I whispered. He didn't turn back.
"Brian!" I spoke a little louder, poking him with my pencil.
"What?" He turned back.
"Lower your balloon of a head. I can't see anything!"
"I don't care," He turned back to look at the teacher.
I couldn't even have my only favorite class in peace. Somebody had to be there to spoil it.
After some time he started kicking my feet. I backed my feet to keep them out of reach of his legs but he still managed to kick them.
Why was he doing that to me? So I also started kicking him.
"Brian, you jerk. Stop doing that!"
That idiot just chuckled. The bell rang and I sighed with relief.
I began packing my stuff in my bag. My classmates all but ran out of the class, happy that it was over. But Brian didn't.
Instead he turned around.
"So, who did you want to do that to?" He asked.
"None of your business," I replied, a bit rudely.
"It is. It happened to me. Do you know how much the bruises hurt for the last two days?"
"I don't care!" I imitated his previous tone.
There was no one in the class now. I started to leave too. But he stuck his foot out and I tripped over it. If he hadn't caught me by my waist and prevented me from falling down, I would have broken my nose.
He caught me by my waist and drew me on his lap, cradling me like a baby when I tried to wriggle out of his grasp.
"Let me go!" I shouted in his ear.
"Shut up," he said.
"What do you want?!"
"Payback."
"Huh?" I asked, pushing him away and standing up.
"I want payback. You did a mistake messing with me. And now I want payback for that."
"You are kidding me, right?" I asked. "Nope," Jerk replied as if it was not a big deal, at least not to him. "You can't be serious!" "But I am." "Are you serious? Cause I am really serious." "I am serious." "Brian! I can't possibly complete all your homework for the next ten days." "But you have to. Ah...and also the homework I got on the days that I missed school." "No. Please. Not homework. Give me something else to do. Not homework." I pleaded. "You have to do that. Like I said, I want payback," He stood up, picking up his bag. "And it's not like it's that much of a work. Be thankful I didn't ask you for something worse, like being my maid for a month." I glared at him. "And what if I don't do it?" "I'm sure you won't like it." "Hah! You can't do anything. I won't do it!" I started to leave but he held me by my wrist. "Oh, so do you want me to tell the whole school that
"Is this the whole year's homework? Cause it looks like that," I groaned. The school just got over and Brian is here in front of me with a pile of books in his hand. He dumped them in my car."No. Three days'. I want it all completed by tomorrow.""What? Are you mad?! Three days' homework in half a day! How am I supposed to complete all of that? What do you think I am? A robot?" I groaned again, rubbing my hands down my face in frustration."I'm not sure. But I want it tomorrow," He smirked before walking away.~I slammed the books on the table. I was home. But I had a lot of work. Brian's work to be specific.I got to work straightaway. I took out my pen and opened the books and copied the notes that Brian's friend had made into his book. It was too much. How could he do this to me?I scrawled my bad handwriting on his books. What? Did he expect me to complete his homework in a calligraphy? Well, he was wro
I sat at our now crowded lunch table with Claire. Brian, Jake and Sam were sitting with us, as expected. Beside them were Darren, Tyler and Josh, Claire and I. And unfortunately, Brian again sat beside me. I was beginning to think that it was going to continue like this till the end of school year.Claire was there chatting with Jake who couldn't keep his eyes off of her. And I didn't know when but suddenly Josh, Darren and Sam were best friends!Brian didn't join in their conversation and neither did I. Which left us both to face each other.I didn't know why but he irritated the hell out of me. Also I didn't miss the glares the girls at our school gave us when the trio sat at our table."Hey, what about our beach trip?" Darren asked."Oh, yeah. When are we going?" I asked."What beach trip?" Brian butted in."We had planned to go to the beach on a weekend, like a few weeks ago. But it never happened," Claire said, sipping on her sof
Everybody was asleep, except me. I was here, brushing my teeth and trying to remain awake at six in the morning. School started at eight. And what was I doing up so early when school is two hours later? I got delivery duties to do for Brian, the asshole. He was not coming today. And so I had to go there, to his house and drop off the books. What did he think I was? His delivery girl?I took a slow, warm bath and put on a light blue shirt with black jeans. I was still sleepy, even after taking a bath. I was really not a morning person. On regular days I usually woke up at seven in the morning. It was already six thirty when I got into my car. I had told my mom that I was going to Claire's place and no further questions wereasked.Brian's house was a bit far away. It took half an hour to reach his house, the first time I met him and he had demanded a ride. Most of the people in my neighbourhood were still asleep, peacefully. And I was her
I looked up at the stranger who had barged into my bedroom. In the faint light of the moon, I could hardly make out his face. He was staring down at me. I could feel it.My eyes widened in the shape of saucers as I realised who it was. I took a good look at his face, squinting my eyes to do so.His grip on my mouth loosened a bit and I opened my mouth to speak. Or rather to shout."Bri-" I could barely get the name out before I felt his palm slamming on my mouth again. I struggled under his grip but he was way too strong. But I was not weak to resist him. I wriggled out of his hands. I put my hands on his chest and pushed him back. He stumbled on my bed. If he hadn't barged into my room at the dead of the night, I would have actually laughed at him.I ran to my bedside table and switched the lamp on. And yes, it definitely was Brian.I crossed my arms over my chest, giving him a glare."Hi. You look..." His eyes roamed up and do
Brian'sPOV:Damn it. What had I done? I was so stupid. What was I thinking when I was going to Brooke's house and that too, in the middle of the night? I was so embarrassed. I couldn't even face her. This had to top my list of embarrassing things I did.And what I did when I got there was the stupidest thing ever. I know I was upset about mom, but that didn't mean I should act like an idiot. I just wasn't thinking straight last night because I was a bit drunk. I didn't drink very much. I knew I shouldn't have listened to Sam. He would take every opportunity to get drunk if he didn't get laid.I still remember everything. Thank God I didn't reveal much about my parents to Brooke. I wondered what she would have done when she would have heard that. Would she have laughed at me? I doubted that.Would she have comforted me? Or made fun of me and gossiped about it in our school
From the corner of my eyes, I saw Brian walk past me. I heard the chair of the desk behind me move. Brian was sitting behind me.I wanted to talk to him. But I wouldn't. Maybe I should just forget what happened yesterday. It was nothing. He was just being an idiot. And he was drunk. Drunk people do stupid things, right? And I even doubted he remembered what happened.Plus he had ignored me all day and had already got a new friend. So I had all the right to ignore him too. And he wouldn't want me to talk to him either. I was boring. So he'll get what he wanted. And anyways he has got Gemma to entertain him.The teacher entered the class and started teaching us. I carefully took notes and concentrated on the class. Or rather tried to.After an hour, she put the chalk down and instructed us about some homework and soon she was out of class. The students began to file out of the class too.I placed the strap of my bag on my shoulder, well aware of Bria
"Hey! You ready?" I asked Claire. I had come to pick her up."Well yeah," She said. "I am so excited!""That Jake will be with me!" I finished her unspoken sentence, using the same level of excitement she used."Shut up!" She said, looking away. I saw a hint of red on her cheeks and smirked."Oh my God! You're blushing! Seriously, what did Jake do?" I wondered out loud. She didn't reply but instead turned into a tomato. I shook my head at her.We drove to Darren's place. We were all going to meet up there. Everyone was coming with us. Claire, Brian, Jake, Sam, Darren, Josh, Tyler and I. There were eight of us. Quite a party. We pulled up at Darren's and got out. I knocked on the door.A few seconds later, Darren opened the door."Hi," I and Claire said in unison."Hi," Darren said, hugging both of us."Has everyone made it here?" I asked."No. Some of the boys are still remaining, Brian and Sam," Dar
