Chapter Seventeen

My heart launched as I watched Savannah sniff me. I let her but I pretended to be flustered. Sarina let out an exasperated sign and said,

“You didn't do that on purpose, did you?”

Elias watched from the shadows. He sniffed the air immediately I came in but he didn't comment on it. Dean laughed and said,

“There are no virgins left for moon sacrifices.”

I didn't laugh. I couldn't, not only because Savannah was too close to me but Elias was very quiet and that's unlike him. He folded his arms and was leaning on the wall opposite Dean's former position. Dean had left his computer, clapping on the way and saying,

“Lea! What a surprise!”

“You weren't waiting for your mate?” Elly asked.

“Do you think she thought about it?” Sarina said.

“She probably did. Many people can't wait for their destined like Savannah here.” Jacob said.

Savannah stopped her sniffing and turned to glare at Jacob.

“Hey...”

“You weren't waiting for me.” Elly asked.

She turned to Elly and held his face.
