Chapter one

𝚃𝚘𝚗𝚢'𝚜 𝙿𝙾𝚅

I woke up early Monday morning and started the day. I never partied on Sundays because waking up with a hang over on Monday morning was the worst thing ever.

I rolled out of bed and pulled on my sweatpants and walked to the gym room in my house.

After I was done working out, I took my bath, got ready for work, ate breakfast and drove off to work.

I built my gym from a small building that had only one thread mill, one stationary bike, one weight lift bench and two dumbbells to one of the best gyms in America. I had a branch in almost every state and even one in Australia even though I live in California.

Today was one of the few days I went to work because. I had plenty of people managing it while I took care of my other 'businesses'

The moment I walked into the gym, all the girls had their attention on me. That was one of my many features, I draw girls to me like metal to a magnet.

I moved quicker before any of them tried to approach me. I liked the female attention but I didn't have time to pay attention to them. I had things to take care of.

I walked straight to my office, were I was greeted by the manager who took care of everything that had to do with my gym, Derek Matthews who was also my best friend.

"What's up, Ballo?" He got up and bro hugged me. 'Ballo' was what all my friends called me.

"Hey, Dee. Bet you weren't expecting me in today, huh?"

"Yeah. You're like a pop up restaurant. You come out if the blue, leave for a couple of days and pop back up again." He teased.

"Well, I have done my work for this gym a long time ago. I am only enjoying the fruit of my labor by exploiting by friend that is a workaholic." I joked.

He hit me on the arm and rolled his eyes.

Derek was like the only family I have. We both grew up on the street after both our parents died in a plane crash. We were both moved around in the system. Moved from foster home to foster home but we really didn't like any of them so we kept escaping.

Sometimes, they'd separate us but we always found our way back to each other.

And when I started the gym, Derek said he wasn't going to be a part of it. Then he got a job at a construction company but then the company was sold to another person and they let go of some of the old workers, Derek included. So he ended up working for me.

He was more of a partner than a manger because we ended up splitting profit made from the gym.

"So where are you going from here because I know you don't plan on staying long." Derek asked.

"I have a meeting with someone."

"Don't tell me you're trying to make another appointment for a fight." He said with a frown on his face.

"No." I lied. I was into underground fighting which was illegal but it was a habit I picked from back when I was on the street and I was struggling to make money. After that it just became an addiction. I have tried to stop but I find myself going back.

"That's a lie. I am telling you Ballo, it won't be long before you get into trouble." He warned. It was the same thing he said everytime I had a fight.

"Okay mom. So tell me how we are doing with profits and stuff." I said changing the subject.

"We have ten new people that registered today." He told me.

That was something I liked to hear. Everyone knew that nobody that walked into my gym left the same. If you came in overweight, you'll leave real skinny. If you came in too skinny, especially as a guy, we'll buff you up. So I had a lot of people registering on a daily basis.

"Cool. And everything is in order with the accounts?" I asked.

"Yeah. I even emailed you a copy of the records."

"Great, I'll check it out."

"No you won't. You don't like anything that has to do with reading or numbers, dumbass." He knew me so well.

"Don't call me dumbass, I am a sexy dumbass." I said with a smirk and winked at him.

"That might work with all your lady friends but not with me." He answered with a scowl on his face.

"You just jealous that you don't attract the ladies like I do."

"I have a girlfriend and you're still single." He stated in a matter of fact tone.

"Ballo don't do relationships." I said before walking out of the office and heading for the exit.

When I got to the parking lot, I noticed a lady come out of a car. A red corvette to be exact, latest model. Forget the car, the lady driving it was gorgeous. And I just knew she was one the girls that would end up in my bed before the week ends.

I stopped looking at her before she noticed and headed to my car. I turned on my radio to play Me Too by Kevin Gates and sped o ut of the driveway. It was time for my day to officially start.
