I walk through the thick forest, my eyes scanning my surroundings carefully. The bird following me all around the forest doesn’t go unnoticed by me, but I have to pretend to not see it.
When I see the cave in the distance, I pick my speed. Closing the distance, I enter the cave silently.
A buzz goes off as the magical barrier around the cave’s entrance allows me in. I roll my shoulders back and stare at the sight in front of me. A wide forest lays before me.
Cassius and Kane are standing by the trees on my right, the later glaring at me.
Turning around, I look at the wall behind me. From outside, it looks like a cave where I go to meditate every day and the bird follows me like my shadow, but in here, lies something else - something no one will ever find out and if they do…I don’t want to think about it yet.
We are not ready for this. Not yet.
VIOLET I stay standing in front of the window for the longest time. I am not shaking with fear anymore, but I am still anxious. Kane saw me. And the look he gave me has me thinking about his next moves. Will he tell Wolf? Of course, he will or else, he might just use this opportunity to get his revenge on me. I shiver slightly, finally finding myself strong enough to walk back to the bed. The T-shirt is placed on the bed. It’s strange that he asked me to wear something. When he asked me to wear it, I actually wanted to refuse. It’s a norm in my mind that I have to stay naked all the time when I am around the werewolves. The beating I got - every time that I tried to cover myself when I was in captivity before - is still imprinted on my mind, body, heart and even soul. My hand reaches out to the shirt. Not a big dea
VIOLET“ I don’t like mess, Lilith. ” Wolf hums. The female hand pauses and a sigh escapes my lips.Lilith doesn’t protest and places the plate down on the floor before she retreats and leaves the room.I lift my head, finding Wolf lying on the bed now, his arm covering his forehead and eyes.“ Th - Thank you. ” I choke on my breath.Never in my life did I think that I will say thank you to a monster willingly, but life is so unpredictable. No response comes from Wolf, so I start eating in the thick silence. Finishing the food on the plate, I feel like my energy has returned completely.I chew the last bite and look up. My mouth stops working when I see him looking right at me, his arm placed over his head now.His Golden eyes don’t look like fire is moving in them t
VIOLETStefan walks me down the stairs to the basement. It’s dark down and I can’t see a thing, but he can navigate our way easily. From outside, it appears that he is alright but his tense hold over my hand says otherwise.Whatever that Veronica was trying to say was enough to make him feel anxious.I keep my mouth shut, knowing that if I talked, others would be able to hear. This also makes me wonder why they can’t hear me talking in Wolf’s room.Perhaps, the room is soundproof. I conclude and continue walking.Stefan stops outside a metal door and leaves my hand. He unlocks the door and turns to me. I can’t see his face clearly, because it’s too dark and this makes me desperate to see his expressions. What is he thinking right now? I want to know.“ Go inside. ” St
VIOLETAfter we all make a row outside, they lead us up the stairs. They assign everyone their duties in the pack-house. The duties include scrubbing floors, cleaning rooms, gardens, backyards and all the area around the huge pack-house.I am asked to clean the staircase of the great hall so I get to work and I am glad that Cora is nearby, scrubbing the floor and making it slick clean.I clean the spiral staircase, going up a stair as I wipe the Golden railing with a cloth. My eyes move toward Cora occasionally and I always sigh in relief when I find her busy in her work.I walk up some more stairs, the great hall disappearing from my sight. Cora is working and I should get my work done too or someone might come to haunt me again.I inhale deeply and wipe every speck of dirt from the railing. It takes me at least half an hour to make the railing sparkling clean. When I am done, I place my hands on my sides and lean back, loo
WOLFFinally, I think I know what I should do to prevent this whole situation from falling out of our hands.I inhale deeply and sign the papers that are placed in a file in front of me.I am currently sitting in the old Alpha Samuel’s office. Father sent me here to investigate him, but when I arrived, he tried to threaten me.He did make a grave mistake by doing so. Considering that he knew too much, I had to rip his head off his shoulders along with his Luna’s head.He is gone and with him, secrets are gone as well. He took the blame for most of the things and Father’s trust in me has re-established.I can’t make anymore mistakes now and I can never let the Alpha King doubt me again.“ You are thinking about all of it again. ” Cassius yawns from across the table.“ I don&
VIOLETI am floating in space. Everything is dark out here. It only gets illuminated when I see people - the dead. My mother, my father, Izel, Mario, Samantha.I keep seeing them but I can’t talk to them because there is a transparent wall between us. That wall contains me from communicating with them. I know it’s all in my head so I don’t understand why my brain doesn’t allow me to have a conversation with the people that are in my subconscious mind.Slowly, everything begins to disappear. My mother. My father. Izel. Mario. Samantha. They all disappear and everything becomes dark. Then, I see a ray of Golden light softly travelling towards me. I don’t know what kind of nightmare it is this time, but I get attracted to the Golden flame. When it gets near me, I push my hand forward, wanting to touch it in an awe-struck daze. I gasp when it starts engulfing my figure and illuminating everything in the da
VIOLETCassius doesn’t waste any time in pushing me inside the dungeon and locking the door just as we arrive. I stumble inside and barely manage to catch myself before I fall face first. My eyes wander off to the rest of the huge dungeon. There are humans everywhere, some groaning, some sleeping and some talking to each other. My eyes miserably search for Cora. She has to be here somewhere around here.As I look from my left to right and then right to left, I almost give up on trying. My heart drums in my ears as blood rushes towards my brain, making it throb.I cast my eyes down and my shoulders slump. Tears rush to the back of my eyes.I fought back for the very first time in my life and it seems like I have failed to achieve what I fought for. This is the worst feeling in the world. It feels like time has come t
VIOLET “ What happened after I fainted? ” I question quietly as I glance at her. My eyes slowly move down to her neck and I notice something which I didn’t notice earlier. The collar around her neck. Tremors run up my body as I sit straight, placing my hand on her head and pushing it off my shoulder. The letters are imbedded in the collar in silver writing and it was supposed to be almost impossible for me to miss, but I did. I gulp my saliva and try to see the name but she wraps her hand around it, restricting me from reading it. I lift my gaze to hers and purse my lips. “ What happened? ” I rest my back against the wall, my eyes fixed at Cora. “ He came after you fainted. ” Cora sighs and removes her hand from around her neck. My eyebrows pull together. Is she talking about Wolf? I lower my gaze and glance at the name engraved in the collar. A lump gets stuck in my throat right away an
