Chapter 2.

“Together with their Families Madilyn and Sampson joyfully invite you to their wedding celebration Saturday August 28th at 4 o’clock in the afternoon.”

Drake stared at the wedding invitation that was hanging from his fridge in contempt. It wasn’t that he wasn’t happy for his brother. He was overjoyed, Madilyn was a good girl, and his brother had been in love with her since grade school. Drake just wasn’t looking forward to having to socialize with the Elite. He wasn’t looking forward to having his mother parade him around as the heir to the Whittenberg fortune, trying to hook him up with every one of her friends daughters. Unbeknownst to Mary, Drake’s mother, but he’d already slept with every single girl in his mother’s circle, both his mothers friends and their daughters. Drake wasn’t keen on settling down. He was enjoying his playboy lifestyle.

Drake’s phone started to vibrate in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw it was Sampson calling.

“Hey bro,” Drake answered.

“Hey Drake,” replied Sampson. “I was just calling to see if you were bringing a plus one to the wedding? Since it’s a destination wedding we’re booking the flight and cruise tickets now.”

“Err.” Drake thought for a second, pulling out his laptop and pulling up the website his friend had given him last night, scrolling through the many faces of beautiful women, until one particular face caught his eye. “Actually yeah, I am bringing someone. My girlfriend Lydia, I’ll text you her details for the tickets.”

“Oh wow.” Sampson sounded shocked. “Mom will be surprised when she finds out. I didn’t know you were seeing anyone.”

“There are parts of my life the tabloids don’t report Sam.” Drake said using his brothers nickname.

“We wouldn’t have to get get all our news from the tabloids Dre, if you’d come home more often.” Sampson retorted back.

Drake felt a slight tugging in his heart. Sampson and him were close growing up, but when Drake went off to college, he’d sworn he wouldn’t return back to the family estate, there’d been to much pain and anger that had occurred at that house. Drake went on and became a real estate mongrel making his first billion by the time he turned 25. He was now nearing his 30’s. It’d been 11 long years since he’d stepped foot in his childhood home.

“You know why I can’t Sam.” Dre murmured back over the phone.

“It’s been 11 years Dre. No one remembers what happened that day.”

“But I do.” Drake rubbed the top of his nose, feeling a migraine coming on.

“Hey Sam, listen, I have to go. I have a business meeting. I’ll send you Lydia’s info tonight.”

“Okay Dre. Will you be at the rehearsal dinner on Saturday? You are the best man after all.”

“Yeah, see you then.” Drake said ending the call.

He walked over to the China hutch and pulled out a decanter of scotch. Not even bothering to grab ice, he poured himself a glass, and swallowed it in one gulp, enjoying the stinging sensation at the back of his throat. He went to the kitchen and put some ice in his glass and refilled it with scotch. This time taking gentle sips to calm his nerves. He picked up his phone and dialed the number for Mia Novella’s escort service. The front desk receptionist answered after the first ring.

“Thank you for calling Mia Novella’s dating services, this is Mindy, how can I help you?”

“Hi,” Drake said, lowering his voice to a more seductive pitch, “I’d like to speak with the owner of this establishment.”

“Sorry,” purred Mindy. “Mia’s not in right now, can I take a message.”

“Yeah, tell her Drake called. Drake Whittennerg.”

“Will do Mr. Whittenberg.” Mindy responded hanging up the phone.

Not even a minute later Drake’s phone started to ring again. He smiled, he knew dropping his full name would get the Madame to call him back quicker.

“Hello.”

“Hello Mr. Whittenberg, this is Mia Novella. How can I help you today?”

“I’d like to rent one of your girls on a monthly basis. As of right now I need her for a month, but that could end up being longer.”

“Hmm,” was Mia’s only response.

“I am willing to pay $100,000 a week for her. All expenses will be paid for. She just needs to show up. I will take care of everything else.”

“And do you have a girl in mind Mr.Whittenberg?”

“Yes, I want Lydia.”

“Are you sure? Lydia is one of our newer girls. She’s not as experienced as our platinums. I wouldn’t want you to be disappointed in your investment.

That explains the innocent look in Lydia’s eye, Drake thought to himself.

“I am not looking for experienced. Lydia is perfect for this job.”

“You have a deal, Mr. Whittneberg. I’ll draw up the contract and email it to you, when does Lydia need to be ready by?”

“Thursday night, and She’ll be staying with me, oh and she’ll need a passport.”

“Perfect, she will be there, and she has the required documentation, please send me back the signed contract ASAP, and your health forms from your doctor. I don’t want my girls contracting anything, and I know how you men like to fuck with no rubber.”

Mia ended the call, leaving Drake to his own thoughts. His phone pinged indicating that he’d received an email. Pulling up the email, Drake looked over the contract and signed in. He also sent over an NDA for all the workers at Mia Novella’s to sign.

Drake downed the rest of his scotch and then paged his driver to meet him out front. “Damn”, he thought, “He really was going to be late to his board meeting.”
