Chapter 8

The blond shuddered, not sure if he was happy or mad because his expression was beyond interpretation. Meanwhile, his little assistant only nodded his little head.

“You heard it as it is.” He said to his master.

The master raised an eyebrow. "Only two? How about the rest? Why not all?” He groaned.

“I know nothing about the reason, so, please don’t ask me further about it.” The little assistant said, dismissing him.

“They are so stingy!" The master spoke. He mumbled alone not satisfied with what he heard.

"Should I go back to them?" The assistance asked calmly. “I probably need about a month to get the answer.”

His master grunted. "Don’t waste my time. Just tell me of the privileges." He said and mumbled angrily.

Little Veen ignored his unsatisfied mumbling as he explained about the privileges. "The first one is, you will only be able to retrieve your body if you spend more time with your wife. She's the key to your freedom. Each time spent with her will help you get back what you've lost."

The blond man chuckled softly. "Wow, now she's the key. Yesterday, she was said to be the door. Tomorrow? Will she be the floor?" He asked mockingly. He was so unhappy.

"Master, I will leave if you keep on getting furious like this." Little Veen said, threatening his master with his calm words.

"Don’t you dare to leave?” The blond pointed at him. He sighed softly and explained, “I was just upset because they tricked me. I was finally happy to be able to be with her after all these years but now, she was getting that ridiculous thought in her head." He said while pointing to his head. He remembered about last night, the dream that he wanted her to see was different from what she saw.

"Then, keep on listening without interrupting." Little Veen dished out at him. His tone was stern. It doesn't fit his cute feature as a little boy at all!

The blond pouted but he didn't say anything as he gestured at the boy to continue talking.

Little Veen raised his little head and said, "So, they have returned your comforting power, and please, I urge you to use it wisely."

The blond smiled widely as soon as he heard the sentences. His eye sparkled like never before. ‘My power is back! Yes!’ He rejoiced.

"However, I need to tell you beforehand that only one-third of your power is back." Added Little Veen, making his master's face turned sour instantly.

"You love to make me happy for a moment then hell the next second." He complained with a sour face. He looked away as he sighed deeply. "Anyway, what can I do with only one-third of my power?"

"Undressing." Replied the little boy calmly.

The blond was in a daze, trying to process the replies he heard from the boy. Not long after that, he burst into laughter, losing his mind. Did he just hear it correctly? Undressing?

Little Veen nodded his head. "Yes, you heard me correctly. I said, undressing." He repeated, assuring his master.

The blond gritted his teeth with hands fisted by his side. How the heck is he going to comfort his wife by undressing her when everything was already messed up on the second night. Even worst, he had been regarded as a ghost. His pride has been smashed to bits!

When he thought about how furious she will be, he pulled a long, face again. "They love making fun out of my helplessness." He complained. He glared to the sky and cursed inwardly.

Little Veen ignored the unpleasant expression on his master’s face and continued to explain about the privileges. "So, for the second privilege that has been granted, you will only be able to leave this place if she invites or gives you the permission to go out."

"What?" The blond frowned in confusion. He waved his hand, stopping the boy from continuing with his explanation. “Wait, you're meaning to say I have been put under curfew from now on?” His brows furrowed when he looked at the calm Little Veen.

Little Veen looked at him, "Yes, and it is much better than to be under house arrest forever." He answered without hesitation.

"Thinking back, it does suit you very well Master." He added after a few seconds pause.

"What do you mean?" The blond asked, feeling sullen.

"No one was able to control you before. But, this time, only one person can do it and that will be your wife. Meaning to say, a human will be controlling you from now on." Little Veen said, chuckling in his voice although his facial expression was cold and distant.

The blond glared at him. "Little Veen, if I can break that protective barrier around you, I would love to strangle you to death." He said with a sinister smile.

"You wouldn't because you will be lonely without me." Little Veen provoked him. Then, he added, “Anyway, about your recently granted power, you can do whatever you want to her.”

“That sounds so irresponsible…” The blond said disapprovingly. To hear the boys said something unnerving was a first for him.

“Well, if it can keep you entertained throughout your confinement, then, just accept it.” The boy said.

"Even if I can do whatever I want, she cannot see me. All of my plans to make her realise my existence only made her think that I am something scary. I am not! I don't even want to be in this state either." The blond exploded.

The little boy went into silence before he replied, "Then, just be patient. Keep her company because I will not be able to come and help you smooth things out with her."

His master grunted angrily in his seat. He looked away, ignoring the little boy. Why does his sidekick have to be so annoying towards him? What has he done to be treated this way?

Little Veen coughed softly to attract his attention, "You should control your temper or may I say, your jealousy, Master. If you don’t, your wife will drive you out in no time."

"I will control her so just you wait and see the result soon." His master said, challenging him.

"Sure, master but don't lose yourself too soon then." The boy challenged him back. His unchanging facial expression infuriated the man. Grrr!

The blond looked up to the sky. "You're all so stingy! Why give me only two of my entire privileges?! Just let me have all of my power back!" He shouted.

"And, I am not a kid to be put on curfew!" He grunted and stood up from the chair. He walked towards the room and disappeared into veils of mist as soon as he reached the sliding door.

Little Veen stood alone on the balcony. After quite some time, he, too, disappeared into thin air.
