I sat alone in the alpha's office contemplating when we could start searching our cabins in the woods. Alex's idea was excellent. It was normal that he would think in that direction. He had fought and defended his pack even before his father went missing. He had all the experience and training that I did not have. I sat there wondering where we would start the search. If we would spread out and search different cabins or if all of us would just go to the one I spent the night in with Sylvester. We needed to be careful how we moved so we wouldn't tip them off.

Someone knocked on my door, and I asked the person to enter. It was my mother. I smiled immediately I saw her. I had never imagined that I would see her again after that night that we parted in the woods.
