Chapter 3 - Why can't it be you

Everyone is ready to leave. Kayden and the others are using car while I will use my motorbike which I got from Mark. He gave this to me last year on my birthday.

"Angel and all of you be careful. If there is a problem, you can call me at any time. Update me on the training status once you get there." Mark said.

'Mark included me in this mission, then he doesn’t seem to want to send me away.' I said to myself.

"Yes Daddy!" I promise before I ride the motor. I waved him goodbye then I motioned for Kayden to follow me.

Since I know the way to the Moon Crescent Pack, I will lead them there.

'You're such a naughty kid Angel.' Mark said to me using pack link.

'Love you Mark. Take care when I’m not around.' I replied.

It was noon and we decided to stop and eat first. We stopped at a burger house next to the gasoline station. People looked at us as we entered. Who would not? Humans and werewolf figure are very different. We often trained under the sun which makes our skin tan but shinny. Our height is much taller than them. I am 5'11 while Kayden is 6'5. Our build is like what they saw in the magazines.

"Dude, look at that woman in black leather jacket. She's really hot, isn't she? Her companions are also very sexy. Do you think those are models or celebrities?" Guy # 1 said to his companion Guy # 2

Kayden and I looked at each other and smiled.

'Humans'

We occupy the long couch at the back. The waitress who assisted us almost fainted when talking to Kayden, Aden and Simon, while Lea and I were almost glared at by the woman. Lea would have hit her but I stop her.

"That woman is annoying, the way she looks at us you know that she wants to send us away but here with these men she acts as if she’s a saint."

"Lea, just calm down. You need to control yourself. There are many women like that in the Moon Crescent pack." I said.

"Oh, I remember, you came from the pack, why did you leave there?" Lea asked.

"I wasn't happy in that place."

"Why?" Simon asked.

"People there didn't treat me well, so I decided to just leave."

“Then it’s a good thing that we are training them. We will give them the best experience of their lives.” Lea said.

I don't want them to know about Gabriel and me. Fortunately, the food arrived and everyone was busy eating.

"By the way Angel, where are we going to stay tonight? I also need to call Alpha Mark to report our status. You know he’s very protective. I need to call him every four hours to update our status." Kayden asked in a serious tone.

"Yes, very protective especially to you." Aden said while looking at me.

"Crazy!" I threw fries in Aden's face then smiled to Kayden. "Don't worry Kayden, I already update him on our status and I said 'We're still virgin'"

Everyone laughed except Kayden, he was too slow to understand my joke, so we threw fries at him. Kayden is really slow with jokes. What I mean is about our status.

"Be serious Angel. If I want to have sex with you, I can do that even right now." He smiled at me with a wink at the same time.

"Ewwww! Get a room, you to horny wolves." Lea said.

We were still laughing when suddenly four men entered the restaurant. We were all stunned and suddenly became alert.

Rogues

Four rogues entered the restaurant and looked at our way.

'Kayden, what are we going to do?' I asked. We are now talking using our mind link.

'Angel, this is a free territory, they are allowed to stay in this place. Let's just leave them alone if they have no intention of fighting us. ' Kayden looked at their place. 'It looks like they have no intention of figh ---' Kayden words were interrupted when the two of them approached us.

"Looks like you're lost?" Rogue # 1

"We are just stopping by to eat rogue." Kayden said.

"Get out of here, you are not welcome in this place." Rogue # 2

"Don't worry, we're almost done eating too. We'll be leaving later." Kayden said.

"We don't want to wait, we want you to leave now you’re---" Rogue # 2

It stopped speaking when I dropped my glass of soft drinks on the table and broke the glass  because of the impact.

"Do not insult our Beta, it doesn’t mean that we are in common territory we will let go of your rudeness." I said.

"What a brave pup we got here.” The rogues laugh at me. “Don't you know that we own this place?” Rogue # 2

"When did a rogue like you have land? Leave in front of me before I change my mind and kill you." I said.

"You whore!" Rogue # 2

He should have slapped me but Kayden grabbed his hand and twisted it. We heard a crack of bones and the rogue cried with pain. Everyone is looking at us now.

“If you dare to hurt my girl, I will not spare your life rogue. I am being considerate right now because we are in front of a lot of humans.” Kayden eyes is now shinning. His wolf displays its power.

‘Hmmmmm MY GIRL, what a term.’

‘Why? Are you ready to give up your true mate now for Kayden? I don’t have problem with that.’ That’s makes her shut her mouth. I know deep inside, even we hate our mate, we still loyal to them. ‘Kayden haven’t found his mate, and when he does, he will forget the feelings he has for us.’ I said to her.

‘You’re right. Hopefully the girl is not like our mate.’

‘I hope so.’ I said.

The rogues left and returned to their comrades.

I held Kayden’s hand to make him calm down. I don't want him to suddenly transform into his wolf in this place. Most people here are human.

“If we were just in the pack, those rogues would be dead by now.” Kayden said.

“Just calm down, okay?”

“Let’s finish our food and leave before I truly lost my temper here.” Kayden.

“Yes Beta.” We all said.

We are now resting here at the hotel we saw. Funny that they only got three bedrooms available with two single beds. We need to share. Since Lea and Simon are mates, they occupied the first room. Aden and Kayden on the other room while I stay alone in my room.

I took a shower and lay down on the bed thinking about what might happen tomorrow when I heard a knock on my door.

I opened it and saw Kayden carrying food and wine.

"Can I come in?"

"The bribe is good, so you can come in."

I opened the door and let him sit on the couch in my room and he arranged what he was carrying.

"What brings you here and why do you have wine?"

"I think you might need it. Tomorrow, you will definitely be stressed by the possibilities of talking to your mate and family."

"Kayden, you really know me even though we've only been together for two years." I said while grabbing the bottle of wine. But before I could open it, I released it immediately. It's good that Kayden caught it before it hit the floor.

"Angel? Why?"

"It’s happening again." I feel pain in my heart again. Gabriel is doing something again.

Kayden came up to me and carried me to the bed.

"Lie down first I will help you."

Suddenly he kissed me. Angel and I were both surprised by the incident but the pain gradually disappeared. I kissed him back, we almost lost control when Kayden pulled away. We both looked at each other, unspoken words want to show in his eyes.

"I'm sorry Angel, we should stop. I don't want you to regret it after." Kayden said.

I couldn't answer him so I just hugged him.

"Can we stay like this? Just sleep here tonight." I said.

"Okay, come here." He put my head on his chest and stroked my hair.

"Why can't it be the two of us? I hope we are the real mate." He said.

I didn't answer but I hugged him. I don't want to contradict the Moon Goddess plan in my life but sometimes I want to ask WHY?
