With a half smile on her face, Mrs Brown took a soft breath and exhaled it.
"Everything was business from the beginning, and I sincerely apologize if you are only now becoming aware of this situation. The Davises owe us a substantial amount of money, and we have asked for their beautiful daughter to join our family out of compassion. But instead of thanking us for our good efforts, she rewards us with something nefarious. You have to understand that I and your father have worked really hard to build this family.
