'I love you, Alia... I promised to be a better man,' I told her in our mindlink as I dropped my gaze from her while tears started to trickle from my eyes.
I fucking felt so emotional right now knowing that I almost destroyed our bond because of my jealousy. Alia was also a mess as she kept squeezing my hand, trying to stop herself from hiccuping from her soft sobs.
Elder Garett snapped the black rope around our wrists and melted it on the fire sitting on the table beside him. I really wanted to pull Alia in my arms but the ceremony was still ongoing.
"It's time now." Elder Garett patted my back and I nodded as a reply.
I wiped the tears from my eyes with the sleeves of my clothes before cupping Alia´s face to wipe all the tears on her face with my thumb. She chuckled softly before helping me wipe off all her tears.
