Eduard’s hair has gone fully white and he now has a fully grown beard. His scarlet eyes are dull, defeated by humiliation and old age. He has given up on life because he knows that nothing can help him regain the throne he has lost.

“The night my father died,” he begins. “How did you bring in that witch? Where did you find him?”
