Chapter 2

Unwillingly Lima narrated the story of Veronica as short as possible skipping the horrendous details about the life of Princess.

"Then what?" Amara asks curious squatting beside her grandmother and going more active.

Lima runs her hand behind her neck tiredly trying her best to quit the conversation. "I'm feeling tired sugar. I wish to take some rest."

Amara hesitantly agreed and ambled to her bedroom for the night's rest. Before going to bed she talked to Alexander and told him the weird behavior of her grandmother, her reluctance to tell her about her late great grandmother.

Alexander adviced her to close her eyes while he still stays on the call. He consoled her with pacifying words. Then he sang her a beautiful melody lulling her to sleep.

Amara did not know her boyfriend could be so sweet, his voice so pleasant and soft that it brought in her an instant drowse.

"Learn about yourself to know what happened to you in the past? What is your mission on earth being re-born? You need to end him." There were eerie voices so strong drumming in her ears instantly waking Amara from sleep in the middle of the night. She woke up pulsating with sweat running down her face.

She picked up the jug placed on bedside table and poured the water in the glass to drink in a single go. Flashes of woman in the picture hopped in front of her in horrid slides from the dream.

She had long black hair reaching her waist. Her big black balls showed valor and courage that could smash the enemy to bits. She swayed around holding the sword  and her hair spread around like a fan displaying the fierceness of a tigress and the bravery of a warrior. Her face was held high in power and chest upraored in authority to brace up any situation. She takes a step forward with another leg behind as she pummels the sword right into the chest of the scavenger ending him permanently. But.... - the dream wasn't clear anymore except for bits of images here and there.

Long live our humble and brave princess Veronica. Let the blessing of all of us hail upon her." Her subjects shouted in a slogan with their hands pumping in air.

But what....? If the citizens of her country were happy then what is the meaning of 'but' she had in the dream?

Amara shut her eyes tight and closed her ears as if it would stop the voices. She squaled aloud but the words running in her head wouldn't stop.

As she was trying to recollect her lost breathe the closed window beside her bed suddenly opens like somebody unlatched it with force.

A violent gail passes through the casement shaking every article in the room. "Beauty did you recognize me?" A villainous titter followed the words as if teasing her.

Amara looks around, the bed light flickers for a few times and falls to the ground breaking to pieces reducing her in an empty dark room. She squeaks shutting her eyes tight in fear and scampers to the door for a rescue and it automatically slams locked.

The lid of the jug opens hanging in air and water pours out of it like a waterfall. Very soon the complete room was in floods.

The bed beside her shakes violently horrifying her moving in rounds and a mark on it appears as if there was a person sitting on it. A sharp sniffing sound hits her ears like the person was smelling her standing right beside her. "My beauty" it was the same vicious tone accompanied in chuckles which sent shivers down her spine. "I had been hungry for you since ages and finally you are born, with inviting shapes and sizes." There was hunger in every word he spoke sending shivers down her spine.

Amara yells and runs from the place not able to see anyone except the dark room around making her more crazy. In hurry to escape she slips from the water flowing in the room and drops to the floor.

The door suddenly opens with her grand parents rushing to her. "What happened my child?" Lima raced to Amara holding her in the arms. "He...he.." Amara points to the empty space on the bed in fright.

"There is no one here sweetheart. Look around." Lima encourages her to raise her head up and see. To her earth shatterimg surprise the room was the same like she entered earlier - calm and quite. There was no water or a gail rushing inside from an open window. The bed light was glowing like usual.

"You might have gone through a bad dream, sugar." Lima tried to pacify her grand daughter but she had her own doubt in her mind. Her grand father patted her shoulder in assurance. "It was just a bad dream child." He looks down at her with affectionate eyes and walks back to his room after she fell asleep.

The night Lima slept with Amara. The next day morning when she woke up Amara's legs drew her back to their front hall. She felt like there was some mystical power making her pull to things.

She looked at the Princess's picture again. She was sitting on a huge thrown with her posture slightly crossed. There was grandeur and potential on the way she sat which would force a fear in her enemy just by looking at her. A sword stood beside her with her palm resting on it. The handle of it had the inscription of a roaring lion. Her eyes were big covered in black eyeliner that held strength. She was putting on a long brown gown and the her hair plaited was falling in front to a side.

As if words were forcing out of her, Amara rushed to her grand mother again. Lima stilled at the excitement on her grand daughter's face, frightful vibes sending through her spine and the words she wouldn't wish to hear came out of her innocent grand daughter's lips were drawn. "Grandma tell me more about Princess Veronica."
