CHAPTER 2

" You should have waited for me! Just why the hell would you move in at night in the first place? It’s really dark out there, you sure you’re gonna be okay?"

Blaine dragged his luggage with his left hand while holding his phone in his right ear.

"I'm fine. In any case, I don't have a lot of things. There's no need for you to come because I only have one suitcase and I’m not a child.I really can handle this much"

Jake sighed as he spoke with the person on the other end of the phone. "I'm still shaking from what happened yesterday. I almost called an ambulance you know!"

"I told you, I just had a headache," Blaine chuckled. " Nothing serious, so you can relax."

"All right, all right. I already notified the owner yesterday that you will be moving in today. He said that you can come in directly because he will keep the door unlocked for you.”

“Okay,thanks man. Bye.”

“Hmm bye”

Blaine told a lie. It's not just a headache. Unknown memories kept flashing through his mind yesterday, but he couldn't tell Jake about them. Nobody knows he has amnesia, and he doesn't want anyone else to know.

Blaine arrived at the address that Jake had sent him after a while of walking.

"What a big house!" he exclaimed.

This house appears to be several  times bigger than the size of his previous apartment. Is it true that the rent is lower here?

“Excuse me? Mr. Almothean?” Blaine yelled as soon as he stepped inside the house. The door is really unlocked so he made his way in.

"Perhaps he isn't here?" He looked around, but he couldn't see anything because it was so dark inside.

"Mr. Almothean?" He yelled once more.

Blaine had been waiting for a while but had received no response, so he was about to contact Jake when someone suddenly spoke in front of him.

"Do you happen to be the new tenant?"

“AHH!” Blaine was startled, and he inadvertently threw his phone at the person in front of him.

“Ouch!”

Blaine immediately picked his phone and turned on his flashlight to see the one who spoke

“M-Mr. Almothean?”

“Hmm, I am. Nice to meet you—Blaine?”

“Y-yes. Do you know who I am?" He was perplexed as he observed how the man in front of him's eyes widened as soon as he saw his face.

“Blaine. Are you Blaine Timothy?!" The man snatched his arm and excitedly asked him a question.

“A-ah yes. Do you know me?”

“It’s me Thean! Don’t you remember?”

Blaine shooked his head “ I’m sorry but I don’t.”

His excited face turned solemn and he also let go of Blaine’s arm.

“You forgot huh?”

Blaine didn’t know but as soon as he saw the sad expression in his face, he immediately felt guilty about something.

“If we were acquaintances in the past, I’m sorry that I forgot about you. I actually have an amnesia so,I didn’t remember anything before I turned 12.” Well shit. He just say that he didn’t want anyone to know that he have an amnesia but here he is. He really didn’t know why but he don’t want this person to have that expression on his face.

“You have an amnesia? Why?” He looks shocked and worried. Did we really know each other back then?

“I heard that I’m involved in a kidnapping accident when I was 11 years old. I was in a coma for 9 months and when I woke up, I didn’t remember anything” He paused then look at the other person’s expression before continuing “So, do we really know each other?”

“We were best friends Blaine. We were really close. I can’t believe that you actually forgot all our memories together”

“W-well, I’m sorry? It’s not my intention to forget  about you” Blaine said as he nervously scratch his neck. He’s feeling nervous because the stare of the man change from longing to anger

The man sighed deeply as if calming himself down

“If you’re uncomfortable with me, then I can just look for another house to rent in”

“I’m fine. It’s just that it’s hard to digest that while I remember you every day, you forgot about me all this time”

"I'm really sorry," Blaine says as he looks down.

"Well, it's not like you erase  your memories on purpose. You were involved in a kidnapping  incident, so it must be difficult for you as well. I'm the one who needs to apologize because I'm not by your side when that happened"

“H-hmm”

“Well, seems like you’re tired. Shall I escort you to your room then?”

Blaine nodded, then gathered his belongings and followed Almothean from behind. He really wanted to ask a lot of questions because this is the first time he's met someone who knows him prior to the incident, but he can't say anything. It's as if he's still guilty, and the image of the man with such a sad expression on his face is still fresh in his mind. Who exactly is this man? Why did I feel compelled to hug and console him when I saw him with that expression?

He is lost in his thoughts when he suddenly felt cold and a gentle breeze blows on his side.

Welcome back Blaine…
