5: Just sleep

Stephan directly went to his study to make some international calls. Around 1 am, he went to take his bath. Just when he took off his clothes, someone barged into his suite. The first thought that came into his mind was his gun. He knows no one in his home will dare come into his room unannounced. He understood his mansion was under attack. As a Mafia, he has experienced such kind of thing.

Just when he was about to pull the trigger, he realized it wasn't an attack from gang members, but a certain person he wanted to avoid seeing that walked in. His eyes darkened. Mariana.

His visage was becoming gloomy as she stared at him. In his entire life, no one has ever humiliated him.

He did, however, find it very fascinating to be seen by her. He did not know if something was wrong with his brain. This is a girl who is trying to get his attention, she has motives for using him back then.

“Seen enough?” he growled.

He noticed a faint blush on her face, which drew his scrutiny a bit. Before he could say something, she fainted. Stephan stared at the woman on the floor and shook his head. Stupid. Did she really think he'll shoot her?

Instead of helping her up from the ground, he went to take his shower.

When he got out of the bathroom, he stood beside her while contemplating if he should leave her on the floor or not. She showed up here herself. It shouldn't be his problem if she sleeps on the floor, right?

While he was thinking about this, Mariana turned around and slept in a comfortable position. Her dress, unknowingly to her rose, giving Stephan a pleasant view. Stephan lowered his eyes and groaned. Great, now she's trying to seduce him. He is not a good man, to begin with. How can she just sleep comfortably?

The more he stared at her, he could feel his body reacting. At that moment, Stephan finally got another idea of how to solve the problem.

He walked past her, intending to leave her on the floor. When he got to the door, he cursed, came back to pick her from the floor. Then he laid beside her.

Florence stood by the window in her apartment. She couldn't help but clench her fist as she replayed the scene at Carlson's residence.

“Baby, meet Florence, she's just a pass-by in my life.”

A pass by? Of all names, he could use to introduce her as he chose a mere pass by?

That's not even the point, Florence thought Stephan still held her in his heart. No, she's been confident that he would fall back in love with her the moment he sees her. She never expected him to find another fiancée! She didn't see that coming! It's not even a year after she left him, and he already has a fiancée?

He must have done that deliberately, right? Stephan did that to get back at her. He wants to take revenge on her. The more Florence thought about it, the more it made sense to her. They have been in a relationship for four years. Stephan can't just forget about her.

Florence never wanted to break up with him. She was forced to. Someone threatened her to leave him. She planned to tell everything to him when she finds an opportunity, but it's been very hard to get in touch with him. It's as if he's purposely avoiding her, which is understandable.

However, she won't give up on him, she will find a way to meet Stephan, explain everything to him. Surely, he will accept her, right?

The rays of sunlight drifted into the room the next morning, reflecting on Mariana's face as she slept.

Her brows couldn't help but crease as she felt a hot body beside her. ' Strange. When did her pillow become so warm?' She thought as she moved her hand to touch it. The more she touched, the deeper her frown became. Why does this pillow feel like a person?

Her eyes snapped open instantly, seeing a man sleeping beside her, her eyes widened. “Ahh!” She screamed at the top of her lungs.

Stephan winced and covered his ears. “Damn it, woman, shut the f*ck up.” He woke up an hour ago, only to see Mariana lying on his body. For some strange reason, he let her. After Florence, he let no woman get close to him. The only business he had with women was one in which he used them to satisfy his sexual needs.

Mariana got up from bed and was about to rush to the door when she realized the shirt she wore yesterday wasn't on her anymore. She was naked! Mariana let out another round of scream, causing Stephan to shake his head. He had no words to say.

“You, what did you do to me?” Mariana asked in a horrified tone as she tried to cover her body with the pillow. “Did you… did we?”

Stephan snorted.

“If you are asking if we had sex, then yes, it was spectacular. You made positions that could even make the devil himself blush. Isn't that why you came into my room? Since you saw something you shouldn't have, it's only fair that I look at yours, too. I did more than see it, too.” He glanced at her body to prove his point.

“What?” Mariana was so mad. She had never seen anyone as shameless as this man.

Stephan stood up from the bed. He was wearing black shorts. He shot Mariana a disdainful glance, “In your eyes, do I look like that kind of person?”

'Um, yes?' Mariana thought as she stared at him. For someone who pointed a gun at her, she was sure he could do it.

Stephan knew what she was thinking with a glance. He rounded the bed and started walking towards her. “If I'm to f·ck you, you will know. You will feel every inch of me as I move inside you. Now, will you stop behaving like someone who hasn't slept with a man before?” he asked in a disgusted tone. He took off her shirt last night because she fell on the floor. He can't let that dirty shirt on his bed.

Mariana's face reddened at his words. This guy is such a pervert. Moreover, this is the first time she had a man in her bed, but she wouldn't tell Stephan about it, would she? Does that mean they just slept last?

Seeing that Stephan was slowly closing the distance between them. She gripped the pillow. “Don't… don't come over.”

“Why? You wanted to talk, right? I think now is the perfect moment to have a conversation.”
