As soon as we walked out of the packhouse, my mate let go of my hand. I instantly missed the warmth his big hand provided me. He opened the door for me to get in the back. Once I was in, he walked around getting in from the other side while his Beta, who I now know is named Toby, sat in the driver's seat.

It was weird sitting beside such a godly handsome man, and what made it even worse for me was his scent. His scent filled the car, letting me consume a bit of it every time I was breathing.

I tried not to make a move in fear of getting his attention, but it was getting harder and harder with every passing second. Something inside me kept bugging me to toss my face in his direction and take a good look at him, but that would make me look desperate, so I kept my spine erected.

Toby did not wait for another second, and put the car in drive the moment we were settled in. We fell into an awkward silence, and I didn’t know how to start a conversati
