Chapter 6

Ayira spending time with my reaper

We left my grandfather's home and headed back to Deagon's house. It was late in the day and he invited me to stay for dinner. I accepted and went in and sat at the kitchen table. He made coffee and poured me a cup of the hot brew. I sipped my coffee and watched Deagon. He was wearing tight blue jeans and a black shirt. He donned a striped apron to cook. I had to calm my desires. He would unconsciously run his fingers through his black bangs as he spoke and his eyes twinkled when he found something humorous. I really had a thing for the sexy reaper. Deagon explained that he was pan searing steaks in butter and spices. It smelled delicious and my stomach rumbled softly causing my cheeks to redden. He grinned and his damn eyes twinkled once again.

"So tell me about my dad, what is he like," I asked curiously. Deagon scrunched his nose as he prepared our plates. He paused and exhaled.

"Let's just say that I find it remarkable that Viktor found someone other than himself to love," he mumbled drearily. I raised my brow as he placed the plates down and poured two glasses of wine.

"Tell me why you think that, please Deagon," I asked softly. Deagon looked at me and sighed.

"I had once believed your father betrayed me but found out later that he had been chained by a female that didn't want to be found, needless to say it caused a big issue between Viktor and I. Cruel things were said and our relationship destroyed," he mumbled disheartened and rubbed his eyes and added, "Viktor was and is a cold hearted fucker that cares about nothing and I worry about what he will say to you to ruin what we have." I chewed on my bottom lip and sighed.

"I assume that you won't be joining me to visit with him when he comes then," I questioned him curiously. He chuckled and leaned back.

"Ayira, I'm not letting you go anywhere by yourself, I plan on attending Margaret's funeral tomorrow afternoon with you as well. I feel strongly connected to you and feel like I need to be with you, to protect you and keep you safe," he tells me calmly. I smiled slightly and nodded.

"I'd like you to be with me too, Deagon," I told him honestly, as my heart started beating fast.

"Does that mean that you'll um, date me and be my girlfriend," he asked with hope filled eyes. I grinned and nodded.

"I'd be honored to be your girlfriend," I stated firmly. Deagon stood up quickly and headed towards me. He captured my lips in a steamy short kiss and smiled against them.

"Sealed with a kiss," he smirks and goes to sit back down.

"Let's finish our dinner while it's warm," he said happily. I nodded my head and continued with my dinner debating with myself on when throwing myself at him would be appropriate. I grinned slightly at my thoughts and Deagon eyed me curiously.

"Penny for your thoughts," he asked curiously. I looked up at him and smiled seductively and shook my head. There was no way I was telling him I wanted to jump his bones. He chuckled and shrugged.

"It will happen if and when it's meant to," he smirks and sips his wine as his eyes glowed lustfully at me. I lowered my eyes and a vision blurred my eyes. I gasped at what I saw. Tears were streaming down my cheeks. Deagon rushed to my side and lifted me up into his arms.

"Snap out of it Ayira, tell me what you saw," he said softly.

"Mark, he tries to, oh god," I muttered softly, burying my face into my hands. I inhaled sharply and looked up at Deagon.

"He's out of the hospital and forces himself onto me saying that he has always desired me. He breaks into my bedroom, beats and rapes me. Javidan isn't there to stop him. What in the hell am I supposed to do," I cry. Deagon hugs me and rubs my back.

"You can stay the night here, wear one of my shirts to bed and I'll wash your clothes during the night and tomorrow I'll go with you to get your belongings and you will move here with me, after the funeral," he stated solemnly and my mouth dropped open.

"Are you sure Deagon, I've got money and can stay at a motel until I find a place," I told him and he eyed me strangely and shook his head.

"You're my, um, Ayira you'll stay with me," he said sincerely and rubbed my chin sweetly. I nodded my head and smiled.

"Thank you Deagon," I mumbled softly and he nodded, going back to his chair. The front door opens and Lestat comes sauntering inside with index cards in his hands.

"You could have told me you were back Dee, your collections are insane, hello Ayira," he said in an irritated tone. He laid the cards on the table and sighed.

"These are all finished, so put them in your done pile," he says simply and pours himself some coffee and sits at the table between us.

"So what did the old fart have to say," he asked Deagon. Deagon eyed me strangely and glared at Lestat.

"Ayira is Viktor's kid, so she's half reaper and Adaranth is her grandfather," he told him. Lestat started coughing in his laughter.

"Oh my friend, did you tell her you and her dad used to be in a relations..," he started to say until Deagon slammed his hand over his mouth. Lestat widened his eyes as Deagon hauled him towards the living room in a choke hold with his hand covering his mouth. I watched in confusion and shook my head as I pulled my cell out and sent a text to Javidan explaining why I wouldn't be home. My cell rang and I answered.

"Call the police sis, fuck that asshole," Javidan stated.

"I can't do that silly, the cops aren't going to do anything about a vision," I mumbled sadly and he agreed with me.

"Well I'm sure your boyfriend will keep you safe and I will see you tomorrow for the funeral, take care sis." I told him thanks and goodbye as Deagon walked back in. I told him it was my brother and he smiled and nodded. Lestat came in rubbing his neck and glaring daggers at Deagon.

"I'd ask if you wanted a glass of cognac Les but I think you should head home," Deagon stated, grinning slightly and Lestat grumbled as he headed towards the door.

"Good evening to you both," he muttered sourly and left. I raised my eyebrow and glanced at my reaper.

"What was that all about," I asked curiously. Deagon chewed on his lip and sighed.

"He and Mizette believe that you're my soulmate but with you being Viktor's daughter it would be um, a difficult challenge is the nice way to put it mildly," he tells me calmly. I cocked my head and smiled as I moved to stand before him.

"Do you think that we are soulmates, I know that my heart goes off like crazy when I stand before you," I mumbled softly looking up into his light blue eyes as I held his hands within my own. Deagon grinned and nodded his head. I met his lips halfway and kissed him passionately. His arms were soon holding me tightly and his mouth continued ravishing my own. I was melting into him and my heart burst within my chest.

"My lord woman, I need to stop before I devour you," he exhaled deeply. My hands were gripping his hips and I was brushing myself against his front.

"I don't want to stop Deagon, make me yours completely," I mumbled softly and his eyes burned into mine. I could see the internal battle going on within himself. I leaned over and kissed his cheek, creeping closer to his ear.

"Do you have condoms," I asked softly and his mouth pursed into a frown.

"No, I do not," he said gravely. I chuckled at him and hugged him tightly.

"I think we should both go and take a cold shower and I'll head to bed while you have a drink of your excellent cognac. I've got a lot going on tomorrow. Goodnight sexy boyfriend," I mumble dreamily and give him a sweet goodnight kiss. Deagon growled menacingly and squeezed my butt cheek as I headed past him to go up stairs making me yelp. He watched me intently the entire way. I blew him a kiss before I shut the bedroom door.

Deagon annoying people

I watched my new girlfriend disappear behind my bedroom door and exhaled deeply. Damn that woman for making me recall my time with Viktor, their eyes were identical. My cell vibrated in my back pocket and I cringed looking down at the incoming call Viktor. Gritting my teeth I answered.

"If you laid one pervy finger on her Dee, I'll stick my foot up your tight arse," he yelled forcefully and I grinned slightly.

"Stop your threats Viktor, I haven't touched her, I have only kept her safe," I replied back to hear him curse at me.

"If she is what my father says, she belongs to Grim and you know as well as I that the original reaper gets what he wants," Viktor stated solemnly and I grumbled in agreement because it was true. Ayira wouldn't be able to resist Grim no matter what her heart or soul wanted.

"Do you ever think about the past Vik," I asked sadly and heard him sigh.

"Yeah Dee, I think about it a lot," he mumbled softly and the call clicked to an end. I ran my hand over my face and frowning, headed to my decanter of cognac. I skimmed through my upcoming collections and rolled my eyes. I'd have to ask Lestat to cover for me again tomorrow. I sat in my chair and lost myself in deep thought not realizing that I was actually drifting off into a deep trance like state as my mind worked all the information it had just received. I was pining over Viktor, what an odd feeling it was to experience once again. I rubbed my eyes and wondered when Grim would show.
