Chapter Five

Ashira’s POV

I arrived at the Ancestral with loud thuds inside my chest, my heart is hammering like crazy!

My face stayed serious, and I’m trying hard to hide the bothered feeling I’m suffering with.

Aiden is home and I can smell his faint scent from the outside. Upon entering the front door, his scent became clear and strong.

My neck snapped to the left and my sight find Aiden sitting on the sofa. His elbow are rested on his folded knees.

His eyes looked at mine upon my entrance and my breath hitched.

I don’t know what to say but I feel like I should say something.

“I-I went to the Hall.”

Aiden’s golden-brown eyes looked at me with some shine I was not sure if he was mad or amused. I pursed my lips and my toe tapped on the floor twice when he didn’t respond. I closed the door with uttered silence.

The wind blown behind me and I gasped for breath when I felt Aiden’s warm body behind me.

“I went home… to you.” he whispered that made me closed my eyes.

I bit my lip and slowly nodded before turning around. Slowly, too.

Now his face screams his emotions. Loneliness, dismayed, and loving.

“Because… I can’t work all day, I’m distracted and I was in need to talk to you. So bad.”

I exhaled slowly. “I want to talk to you, too… so bad.”

His lips pursed. “Uh-huh?”

I flushed from his sudden change of expression. Now, he looked playful and because of that, I felt a bit conscious that my foot take a step forward. Now, air finds it hard to pass between us.

His eyes went down to the dead distance in our chest and I felt his chest heaved.

“I-I’m sorry…” I started. He looked up at my eyes again and his face softened. “I know I’m wrong, I shouldn’t have judged you that way.”

He groaned and his arms snaked on my waist. “You judged me, then? I spent my day thinking if your words are true. Maybe I’m being selfish taking your time, maybe I’ve put our kid’s life in danger. I think you didn’t judge me but you read through me, Ashira..” he sighed. “For that, I am sorry, baby.”

I felt his lips on my forehead next, urging me closer to him.

I bit my lip and my eyes slightly teared up.

Can you see that, Ashira? Your man just questioned himself because of your overthinking issues! I felt guilt crept up to my face and I quickly shook my head furiously.

“No. No. You’re not. I know how much you love Quillon, you sacrificed a lot for him--”

“But not too much to sacrifice you, so you’re right--”

“Aiden.” I stopped him. He shouldn’t think that way, I don’t want to lose my man who thinks so damn well just because of my unnecessary fears. “You love us. You’ve done enough, you are enough. I just… overthink things all the time. I’m sorry.”

“Hmm… you love us more, isn’t that why you’re overthinking things?”

I sighed. “Yes but too much is never better.”

Aiden chuckled. “I’ll agree with that.”

I smiled and backed off a bit to look at his eyes.

“Are you still mad?”

Aiden pursed his lips and watched me for seconds. I thought he was thinking about it, maybe he did felt angry this morning.

“I…” he breathed. “…can’t get mad at you, baby. No matter what happens, I always end up analyzing you and blaming myself.”

I hissed. “But you shouldn’t.”

“Mm-hmm. Now I love to talk things out with you. I understand you more that way. So… you think I was a male in heat?”

My eyes widened. I know I said that but that’s not what I meant, I mean, right now.

“No!”

“Baby, you said that to me. It marked in my heart, just so you know.”

Uh-oh. The sharp edges of the sword called tongue, huh.

I sighed. “I don’t mean that now.”

Aiden laughed, throwing his head back then his arms snaked on my waist. I almost lost my cool when he purposely let his warmth envelop around me.

He sighed heavily, chuckling after. “Ugh, my baby is making me crazy. You made me crazy all day, literally. I promise to talk with you during times like these.”

Hell, I lost my head all day, too!

I hugged him back with the same tightness and buried my nose on his chest.

“You should. Never run away like how you did this morning.”

“I can’t help it. I think I’m going to say the wrong words, I need to give us some space, to breath a bit.”

Well, remembering what happened this morning, I think that is what we needed too. Just that, we’re both not functioning all day because of it and that is not good.

I hummed my ‘okay’ and we stayed still like that for seconds in silence. It felt good to make up like this after that argument we had. I think that is that first fight we had since Quillon was born.

Aiden pulled away a bit so he can look me in the eyes. I raised my brows in question since his eyes looks like he wanted to say something.

“I think I am a male in heat, baby. Mend me, please?” he grinned.

I laughed hard but stopped when he rubbed his lower part on me which made his arousal evident. I bit my lip and grinned back.

Instead of answering back, I pulled him close and kissed his lips. He didn’t disappoint me when he kissed back with too much hunger.

**

“Yes, honey, we are fine here. How about you? Enjoying Uncle Zeke’s pack?”

I was on the phone talking with Quillon while preparing breakfast. Last night was a long night, and I can’t help but blush upon thinking about it. Aiden was never tired when it comes to making love!

“Yes, mommy! But I’m a bit sad.”

I frowned. “Why? Miss us already?”

“Not that, Mommy!”

I rolled my eyes from how my son answered my question. He really don’t miss me while I’m dying to embrace him, huh?

“Then why?”

“I can’t have more time with Uncle Z! I wanted to do hunting with him again but they said he is not available.”

Zeke? Not available?

I looked at Aiden who was having his coffee behind me. I found his eyes fixated on my butt but immediately looked up to my eyes when I turned.

‘Do you know why Zeke might not be available?’ I asked him in our link.

“Huh?”

I rolled my eyes and head back to talking with Quillon. This mate of mine can’t take his eyes off my butt after last night?! Don’t tell me he wanted more?

“Uh, honey, maybe he was busy?”

“I don’t think so, mommy. Uncle Z was on his room all day yesterday. And females come and go in his room.”

I saw Aiden was finally attentive. He stood up and listened more to our conversation.

Why would Zeke choose women than Quillon? He never does that.

“Why are females can come to Uncle Z but not me?”

I can imagine my son’s pouting face as he asked that. I pursed my lips because I missed him more.

“Uh, do you want to come home? Hunt with daddy?”

Quillon groaned and I can tell his head must be shaking furiously right now.

“Mommy, the last time Dad hunt with me, we fought rogues. Rogues don’t fight with Uncle Z, that is why he is better companion in hunting because there is no distraction.”

I sighed and rolled my eyes at Aiden.

I don’t know why some rogues loves Aiden too much that they see him as their grim reaper or something like a bridge to death. They flock towards him ready to die, wanting to die and Aiden of course would.

“Well, you’ll be there for a week. Maybe he’ll give you time today or tomorrow, okay?”

“Should I use my powers and go straight inside Uncle Z’s room?”

‘Let me.’

Aiden snatched the phone in my hand and walked back to the table before I could answer. I followed and sat on a chair beside him.

“Quillon.” he said in his usual commanding voice. “Uncle Z is sick at the moment so I’m afraid you won’t be able to go hunting with him this week.”

My son said something on the other line that made Aiden’s lips pursed.

“No, he won’t. Yet. But you can always come back again. Next month, perhaps? Yes, a week again if you’ll want.”

I heard my son cheered, making Aiden smile.

“Just don’t go in his room without his approval, okay? You’re not home, what did I tell you when you’re in another house?”

“Always behave and give respect.” my son recited.

“Good. Can you hand the phone to Uncle Seth if he’s around?”

Aiden sighed and I think Quillon is giving the phone to Seth. I raised my brow to him in question but he gestured me to wait a bit.

“Aiden.” Seth said on the line.

“Zeke’s time has come?” Aiden asked seriously.

“Yeah, he had it bad.” then Seth laughed. “I think it’s close.”

Aiden nodded and clicked his tongue. “Well, watch Quillon so he won’t invade his privacy. I don’t want my son to witness his uncle’s exercises.” he laughed and they said goodbye eventually.

“What was it?” I asked.

Time has come? For Zeke? What could it be?

“Zeke is close to find his mate. He’s experiencing something that Alpha wolves usually undergoes as a sign that the mate is coming.”

I frowned more. “Which is?”

Aiden looked like he was balancing something, hesitating to answer my question.

“Well…” he cleared his throat. “It was like the female’s heat, hard to control the sexual urges. In Zeke’s case, I think he can’t control it at all so the females are swarming to satisfy him. Sexually.”

My lips formed a perfect circle from what he said.

No wonder Quillon should never use his power to visit his uncle’s room. Even I can’t think of my son seeing that sight.

But wait…

“Did you experienced the same?”

Aiden bit his lip and I think he paled a bit.

“Well…” he shrugged.

I rolled my eyes and he chuckled.

“Come on, baby. It was all in the past.” he grinned. “I was still in control of myself back then but I’m too physically active, I’m using females to sate me, too but not like how Zeke is right now.”

“You explains like I’m a jealous wife.”

He raised his brow to me. “Are you not?”

I rolled my eyes again.

“Whatever. Then why is Zeke like this?”

“He grew up as a rogue so he didn’t had the proper training for most things so he’s having a hard time to control it. He will learn soon, but this week will be hell for him. All Alpha has it differently. I’m hyperactive, Jacob managed to keep his control, and well, Zeke is learning.”

I nodded, understanding what he meant.

“Well, I hope he’ll be okay soon.”

Aiden’s face suddenly turned serious before snapping his head to the left, standing abruptly after.

It took me a second to realize what’s wrong.

We have a visitor.

I was about to walk to the door but Aiden blocked my way and now he stands in front of me. I watched his broad back and his hand that formed a fist.

“Stay close to me, Ashira.” was all he said after walking forward to the door.
