Chapter 36: No one left to Trust

Gustav’s P.O.V

I turned my gaze towards Axton sharply. From the look on his face, it was clear what was going on at this moment.

“Axton?” I tried to keep my voice under control so it wouldn’t startle Anika, but in the end, I couldn’t.

It hadn't even been a week when Emilio and Damien had traced down Axton’s scent to the Dawn Valley manor. Not even a week when Anika had been crying in my arms because of his betrayal. What was wrong with my brother? Why did he find it so easy to cheat and sleep around? How could he be manipulated so easily?

“She wanted me to be her mate.” Axton said, looking down at the floor with his hands clenched at his sides.
